We had two nights left and were spending them in Volterra. We drove a long way from our previous hotel and at 4pm the sky darkened and the heavens opened with thunder and lightening. Arguably the heaviest and most intense rain we had ever driven through. It lasted until 10pm and we were worried that we were in for a...

Sitting below the town of Volterra with great views across the hilly countryside makes for some spectacular sunsets. Linda and her family provided very caring service and went the extra mile to make sure that my wife's need for a gluten free diet was more than adequately catered for, home made cakes and tarts as well as pasta and breads....

Just come back from a week in this delightful hotel. Everything was good - the friendly welcome and hospitality on arrival, the substantial breakfast which kept us going most of the day, the charming rooms and terraces, and the tranquil and good sized swimming pool where we swam before breakfast and after our sightseeing each day. Volterra is a lovely...

We wanted a break from the crowds and big cities of Italy so we went to Volterra for two nights. The Cavallino Blu was perfect! We loved our room with its little balcony and beautiful view of the Tuscan countryside. Although we spent most of the day in Volterra looking at shops and the ancient Etruscan amphitheater, we enjoyed hanging...

Such an easy location if you have a car. I'm sure the bus works fine too, but the parking here is great and it is close to so many fun towns and attractions. The hotel itself is really charming with squeaky wooden floors, mix of antique/modern furniture, and very comfortable. The showers ARE small, if you weigh over 300lbs you...

Although the grounds could have used a bit more tender loving care, I have to give this little B&B an excellent rating. The rooms were beautiful, clean and comfortable, the atmophere was wonderful, the views are spectacular, and the staff, in particular, were fantastic! The pool is huge and overlooks the Tuscan hills, and the breakfast was very nice.
