We stayed here for a wedding for two nights in June. Our friends were married in the chapel on the grounds. Count Beraud performed the ceremony. He was very personable and interacted with everyone. After the wedding, we had dinner in the Count's private dining room. It was very elegant. After dinner, we retired to the Count's personal sitting area....

I was here a very long time ago, but I can say it was the highlight of my trip. Tripadvisor will only let me go back as far as June 2014. Beautiful, charming, exceptional. I would love to come again. At that time, they had a little restaurant on site, as well. We took advantage of the clay tennis courts...

Only visited as a tourist viewing the Chateau as an historic building. €10 per person was quite expensive we felt for what we got. There was a guide dressed in period costume reciting a script in French. She didn't speak any English. We saw about six rooms full of family history but only got a limited amount out of it,...

Beautiful place, large comfortable rooms, very historic and the grounds are impressive. The breakfast was delicious and the staff very helpful and friendly. This is a definate place to do, although pricey, to get away from it all. It is rather poor lighting but at such an old place to be expected and we were not able to lock our...

After having gotten engaged here many moons ago, my husband and I returned with our five children in tow, to share this magnificent place with them. The chateau and it's grounds are truly wonderful and we enjoyed every second we spent here. The hotel is charming and has an authentic sense of history which can be felt everywhere, including the...

My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights while attending a wedding. The hotel itself is very impressive and has lovely ground and atmosphere. The rooms are reasonably well appointed if a little tired and lighting is not great. We had our own lounge, though, and outside the rooms were a few other lounges which were great and there...

After having visited and revisited Château de la Verrerie numerous times I'm shocked to read such negative reviews for a place I treasure. I have always enjoyed going to La Verrerie, rowing on the lake, enjoying the piece and tranquility. Maybe the furniture isn't brand new but it's got class, charm, history and elegance, (like the rest of the place)...

We stayed for two nights at this splendid chateau East of Sologne. The place is beautiful, in a very quiet place, and the atmosphere really feels like those family estates that are plentiful throughout France: if that's what you are looking for, you will love it, but your expectation should not be based on a confusion with the standards that...

We stayed at Chateau de la Verrerie for two nights as a party of four. We had mixed opinions about our experience. Let me first say that the castle itself and the domain are impressive. That in itself can be a reason to stay here. Nonetheless, there were two reasons not to stay here again. First of all, some of...

“Didn't stay here, only visited. Worth the trip, took about an hour to go round and the countryside around is very rural and extensively wooded.”

“The Comtesse suite appears to be one of the few that don't feature a four-poster bed, but the view is nice and, contrary to,the other wing, the corridor to reach it has central heating.”

“Every room is different, and some are a bit down at the heel, but all are pictured on the website, so study the photos and select yours by name. We alway ask for the Stuart suite, which is probably the most romantic in the chateau. It is a huge corner room with an enormous canopied four-poster bed, a painted beamed ceiling and a huge wonderful bathroom that feels like a sunroom, with a big bath tub, separate walk-in shower, separate toilet "closet," and a stone vanity for doing make-up and hair.”
