We stayed overnight in Cruden Bay in September 2018, on our way south to St. Andrew's. What a fantastic location! The view to the golf course and coastline is jaw dropping. A gem! Ian welcomed us and couldn't have been nicer. He entertained us with tales of Cruden Bay and the local course. It felt like we were family. He directed us to the trail to Slain's Castle, a 20 minute walk to see the historic inspiration for Bram Stoker's "Dracula". Beautiful trail and coastline. He encouraged us to play the local course and we decided to change our plans and come back from St. Andrew's and play. Fantastic course! We enjoyed it more than the Old Course. Ian's wife, Lorraine prepared a great breakfast for us and was delightful to meet. Our group of four are now planning how we can return and stay longer. Gary, Al, Tye and John

home from home, had a lovely stay. Ian and Lorraine were very friendly hosts, breakfast was yum, and had breathtaking views over the golf course, sand dunes and sea beyond , we had the bottom rooms which sported a well designed TV sitting/dining room and fully equipped kitchen.. Oh and wifi of course .

We went to Cruden Bay to play some of the local golf courses. What a gem this bed and breakfast is! Ian and Loraine were the most amazing hosts. It is conveniently located across from the Cruden Bay Golf Club. The views are spectacular of both the golf course and water. The breakfast in the morning was excellent. When there are others staying here there is great conversation in the morning at breakfast. The rooms were spacious and very clean. Of all my travels, this is the only place I have ever stayed where I truly felt like I was staying with family. On my next return I would not even consider staying anywhere else. Just the best!!!! Thank you Ian and Loraine for a very memorable trip!

I stayed at Cruden Bay B&B in the summer of 2018 with a group of friends. It is a really nice location, looking out on the golf course. The owners Ian and Lorraine (and their adorable dog Bertie) could not have made us more at home. Nothing was too much trouble (they went out to buy my favourite spread at breakfast, Marmite!) and offered to upgrade me to a bigger room which was much appreciated. Lovely family atmosphere and very enjoyable.

Ian made our trip to Cruden Bay a memorable one. Friendly service and always willing to help us out with tips and recommendations. For instance the 15 percent discount on green fees by mentioning you are staying at his b&b. Breakfast is very good, with a good selection of cooked or continental options. The rooms were very comfortable and excellent views of the local golf course. Will be sure to come back again.
