As new members of the camping and Caravaning club we were very keen to pot it to good use. We have camped previously in private fields and this was our first trip in a forest.....and it wont be our last!

We are a family of 5 camping in a large tent. Graffham is the best campsite we have ever stayed in. The Plot allocated to us was huge and had a path that lead directly into the forest. All day long we could here the birds and a resident cuckoo. As soon as the sun starts setting the tawny owls make there presents known, and the most amazing morning song starts at 1st day break. It is so tranquil and peaceful.

The site itself is looked after by a very friendly team, we meet Phil and Jennifer who made us feel very welcome.
The ammunitys were spotless and cleaned very regularly, showers powerful and hot and the water was constant, could be a little higher for taller people. The grounds were also kept spotless and fellow campers Stuck to the rules and were quite when needed. ( did have some load music the 1st night, all night but was off site so out of anyone's control)

Being in the forest the ground is very dusty with dry soil and sand and it does get into the tent so be prepared for that but that is the only negative thing but it did not affect our stay or enjoyment at all and it is an campsite we will most definitely be back to in the very near future!

Thank you for a wonderful 3 nights, see you again soon!

Been camping now for almost 6 years and this is definitely one of the best sites. The facilities are spotless and Phil and Jennifer really go the extra mile to make sure everyone feels welcome and is comfortable.

We had some amazing walks in the surrounding area although as reported by Bigted S, on one of our walks, having apparently deviated ever so slightly from the footpath, we were challenged somewhat threateningly by a woman claiming to be the landowner. We were told in no uncertain terms that to be anywhere other than a public footpath was trespassing and if it was on her land, we could expect to face “consequences”. Not sure if she really was the landowner (she didn’t sound like a local - more posh like, with a London accent ) nor what “consequences” she had in mind, but she wasn’t shy in showing her disdain of campers. (It would

Whilst beating a hasty retreat from this woman and her (rather sweet) cocker spaniel she started yelling at us about a swimming pool. Not sure what it was exactly but it didn’t sound like an invitation to take a dip to cool down. Very odd.

Later that evening in the delightful Forrester’s Arms pub, I mentioned this encounter to a local person who seemed familiar with the angry “landowner”. We were assured that the acrimonious encounter was not personal as many others had had similar experiences. Apparently, this wealthy landowner lives in London. Having inherited a lot of land in and around Graffham (including a swimming pool and stables) she now likes to visit the area to fantasy play (often on a horse) the part of feudal Lord (or in this case, lady), inspecting the vassals and serfs of her fiefdom.

Weird, but everyone to their own.

I spent a lovely weekend here, solo camping in my camper van. The site had been recommended to me so I already knew to expect a badly maintained access road, and it was worse than expected. A real bone shaker!

But once I got to the entrance everything was great. I received a very warm and friendly welcome, was escorted to a lovely flat pitch in the trees, and spent an idyllic weekend watching squirrel acrobatics and listening to the birds.

My pitch was close to the main facilities block which included clean toilets, individual sink/vanity cubicles, and showers. The washing up facilities are tucked around the back - I almost missed them - with plenty of hot water and a small bin for food-only waste.

Even though there was torrential rain on my flat pitch on Saturday afternoon, which caused a big puddle, the forest absorbed it by the evening so I could eat under the stars. The ground here is black and sandy so be prepared for that, as it’s quite messy.

A lovely site with much more character than most flat boring layouts. My pitch was perfect for my needs and I understand the wardens will do their best to locate you in a quiet place if you mention you have a reactive dog. (I don’t but was told this by another person who has stayed.)

Brilliant site in a quiet and beautiful location. We have stayed twice with our camper van on the grass pitches. Arrival and check in is very easy and we were showed to our pitch by a very helpful campsite attendant. Access in and out is very easy and the pitches are far enough apart to be private. We had a pitch up in the tree which was very secluded. The facilities are great with an ablution block and shop on the site. Graffham village is easily accessible on foot via a series of footpaths across fields directly from the camp site. Will be back !

Came to Graffham for 2 nights to trial our new tent. When we got there we pitched up (very hard sandy ground make sure you take hard pegs). We hooked up our electric to find our electric wasn't working. I thought it maybe our new halfords hook up so we tried it in the pitch next to ours (until the couple came back) and it worked so we went to see if it could be fixed, the man put it back on for us which was great however over the 2 days our electric tripped around 6/7 times. 2 times were in the evening which would have been OK if there were staff there to put it back on for us however there are no wardens there from 6pm-9am(they are also shut alot during the day) which meant we were laying on a deflated bed all night. We couldn't use our heater and it was very cold for us all in the night and we couldn't even make a tea in the morning which just isn't good enough when you have paid to have an electric pitch. I also didn't like the fact that we were questioned on what we had plugged in like they were passing the blame onto us, barring in mind it wasn't working even before we used it. We did point out that one evening we had nothing plugged in and could here it tripped off from our tent. Another time we had 1 USB plugged in for a phone. There was also a large group of people on the Saturday night drinking and being very loud chanting "drink drink drink" but don't worry they do have a rule of no noise from 11pm-7pm that you can tell them about the next morning when they decide to open up the office!!! Fortunately we haven't been put off camping as we did love the forest and the beautiful birds singing in the mornings and evenings. We just would never come back to Graffham again. 1 star for the beautiful Robins! 🌟😊

We arrived at 730pm well within the 8pm cut off time. i had already been contacted twice to be sharply told that if we arrived after 8 we would not be allowed into the site. In my mind I could see us arriving 1 minute past 8 and being turned away. I squared this in my mind by thinking that the wardens would want to get home after a long day, however on arrival I reaised that their accomodation is right next the reception area.

We were gven a cold and stony welcome and taken to our pitch which was flooded and boggy and as a wheelchair user this made it very difficult for me to get out of our motorhome for 2 days. I asked my husband to request a diiferent pitch but due to the sour faced welcome he was reluctant.

I can't comment on the cleanliness of te facilities as 1) I was trapped and 2) when my husband went to use the shower the following morning they were closed for cleaning. Why would you clean showers in the morning when surely this is the time most people would want to use them. I found that baffling.

The long, narrow, single track road into the site is difficult to navigate and full of potholes. if you can get past this and the sour, miserable staff you will reach a really pretty wooded site.

Well what can I say! The site is amazing you are in woodland with the luxury of ehu and toilets /showers on site if you want them.
Beautiful surroundings, lovely walks . Dog friendly.

There is no shop on site so make sure you have everything you need once you are all set up just sit back and enjoy the scenery .
Friendly team and very welcoming.

My only criticism is the sign for the site is every small …. Despite already reading a previous review warning us we still missed it!

Over all though a brilliant site if you want to get away from it all and just enjoy the outdoors this site will definitely be our go to get away

We booked a well needed break from our hectic lives. The campsite was so peaceful, surrounded by trees and nature (apart from one obnoxious local woman who didn’t thank us for helping to retrieve her dog).

The toilets and showers were kept immaculate by the extremely friendly and hardworking staff. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff (especially Phil and Jenny); they happily greeted campers with a smile, solved problems, and gave advice/recommendations of places to visit and eat.

Thank you for an amazing time. Can honestly say we couldn’t have picked anywhere better.

What a find this site was. Even though we have kids (12 & 10) we have been disappointed so many times by sites that have kids running wild with parents having no respect for other people or what time of night it is! This site though was very different. Even though there were other families there, the general feel of the site is one of calm and quiet! You are properly nestled in the woods and the part we stayed on has all the pitches separated by trees and bushes making it feel really private. The shower/toilet blocks were all very clean and tidy and shower pressure is suitable.
The one negative which is why my review is not a 5 is the dust. The pitches are very flat but being in a wood, the ground is soily/dusty with very little grass so the tent will need a dusting off before the next trip. Even wearing flip flops our feet were rather black! Nothing a shower doesn’t fix though.
Lovely local pubs and the village shop in Graffham is very cute and has it all! We will be coming back for sure.

First to the gentlemen who wrote the 'Jobsworth' review, Graffham is a Camping and Caravanning Club site, not a Caravan and Motorhome Site so your membership card was pointless, plus the fact Graffham clearly has a sign advising 'no visitors' due to the club's current covid rules. Your club has a site at Graffham Water, a different place entirely.

Graffham is one of the best, especially for tent campers. I stayed in the first week of September, my eighth visit. The wardens were very friendly, maintaining the facilities in immaculate condition. For anyone expecting a grass pitch, you'll be lucky as the site is almost exclusively under trees but don't let that put you off. At night it's very peaceful but also very dark so take a torch if you have to make that small hours dash. I can definitely recommend this site.

Not really. It's in the woods with lots of little clearings. It's nice but not a football players dream!

Hi Chris, when we walked, it took us about 20-25 mins. If you are walking there in the evening though, remember your touch as there is no street lights around,
