I recently stayed at this hotel, with a friend and two children after a wonderful visit to Longleat festival of light. We arrived at 8pm and were taken to our rooms. One room had no key and no heating working at all. The other room had a radiator but was not on. This trip was at the end of November...

I am very sad to hear that you considerer our establishment to be so poor! in response to your criticisms, our rooms are newly refurbished, to a high standard with wonderful bathrooms and all facilities that one would expect in a room. Unfortunately, the guest staying the previous evening, had departed with the key to your room, however the only...

It is some years since I last visited this pub and I believe it has new owners now, so I was pleased to find that it was still as good as I remembered. There was a basic "pub grub" lunchtime menu, and also a specials board with some unusual choices of meals. The portions were generous and nicely cooked and...

We visited The Angel Inn at Upton Scudamore a few months back in early summer and had a great experience and although it is quite a drive from where we live in Bath, we decided that it was well worth another trip to see if it was equally as good as our last visit. WE WERE NOT DISAPPOINTED! This is...

What a delight it was to find a modern and clean room in a small village inn. I had a business meeting in Bath but wanted to stay outside of the town. The pub has a number of rooms all very well re modeled and very modern. My room was spotlessly clean and had tv and tea and coffee available....

If you see the signs on the main road and you are in need of a bite to eat to speed you on to you eventual destination I recommend you turn off and head for this pub, you will not be disappointed, we arrived just after 2’oclock, and when we asked are you still cooking the answer was “yes we...

My boyfriend and I stayed for one night and had travelled 3hrs to get here as we were going longleat the next morning. It was amazing food was incredible, we were both shocked at the amount I could eat as a ceoliac. Bed was comfy though not to my taste of decor personally (room4) but really warming, and slept like...

Stayed for 3 nights from 19th Sept. Had room 4 which was very nicely decorated and maintained. The room was always cleaned to a very high standard and tea/coffee/biscuits and water replaced daily. The landlady and all staff were very efficient and always with a smile. Food was always to a very high standard, and my only gripe was that...

I stayed with my husband and 2 children (4 and 2). We had room number 2 which was set up with the sofa bed and a fold out bed. It was clean, decorated really nicely and the beds were really comfortable. We all had a very good nights sleep (and my children don't do this often!) We met Craig on...

We had such a lovely weekend here [Sept 2016]. The room was beautifully presented and spotlessly clean. The food was excellent and the staff were absolutely spot on - even though the waitress told us it was her first ever Saturday night service! Very friendly and accommodating. We would definitely come back here and stay again.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Angel Inn has been totally refurbished over the last 18 months, our bar is warm and inviting, soft bench seating, in wools and tartan create a cosy, informal area. The dining area is rustic, modern and intimate with atmospheric lighting adjusted to the mood, traditional wooden furniture with contemporary twists add to what we hope will be an enjoyable dining experience. Real ale, Doom Bar and Butcombe and local ciders are complemented by our excellent wine list, of which we serve a good variety by the glass. Our gin selection is growing, well appreciated with Fever Tree mixers and Fentimans is among our non alcoholic beverages on offer. We serve good pub classics, fish & chips, ham, egg & chips and a superb burger with home made chilli jam, our scotch eggs are a must! In addition we offer an a la carte menu and specials including fresh fish are advertised on our blackboards, ice creams and sorbets are homemade and our menu is gluten free wherever possible. Sundays we offer a set menu, which includes two roasts, one of which is beef. Our bedrooms are finished to a high standard with beautiful bathrooms fitted with walk in showers. We offer a guest suite which enables a family to stay in two adjoining rooms, with it's own private access for greater privacy and relaxation. Just a few minutes from Longleat Safari Park & House and easily accessible for Bath, Salisbury and Wells, the Angel Inn is well situated for easy access to many local attractions. ... more   less
