Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Excellent service, adequate room for two adults and two children, great breakfast buffet with possibility to make your own mini waffles. The personnel at the bar were very service minded to accommodate our wish to watch the UEFA Euro semi finals game

Lumber & Karle is well-situated by E20 road between Göteborg and Stockholm. A small gem of hotelwith polite service and high standards. Hotel has lots of parking place and easy access. Spacious lobby, bowling downstairs. Rooms are good, but overly well-equipped (no satellite TV, no iron). Comfortable bathroom. Small selection of snacks and drinks, but no fridge. Restaurant/lobby bar downstairs. Breakfast was good. The servce was exceptionally good. Kvänum itself is a small one-shop town surrounded by fields. Lumber & Karle is owned by a local company.

This is a hidden treasure on the Vara plains of Västra Götaland. Great facilities with a very friendly and competent staff. The rooms are big and clean. But the thing who really makes the difference on this hotel is the quality of food coming from the kitchen. A real pleasure to enjoy our dinner here and highly recommend this place.

The Lumber & Karle Hotel was a nice experience. The rooms are on the average, slightly old fashioned furnished but neat and clean. Even though it is virtually in the centre of Kvänum it’s very quiet. The staff was friendly and provided a good atmosphere.

It was a very nice stay at this hotel. Its really out in the middle if nowhere, but as we were going to a wedding so it suited our needs. The room was very nice and the breakfast too. The spa is a bubblepool so don't expect too much. Absolutely recommend this place

A fantastic Hotel in small village called Kvanum. Fantastic food and excellent breakfast. If you want to relax you can use the free SPA at Hotel with Sauna and pool. If you want to do some exersice use the gym a bit small but works ok. I will come back.

Slightly 'strange', out of the way place that is conveniently located! It has a good Resturant with a solid bar and plenty of good local ales. Spa pool & sauna are nice additions as is the little bowling alley in the basement, easy way to while away a few hours.

Great food, comfortable room and great food! Friendly staff. The cons are minor, wifi was a little spotty on one device, could be my phone and shower head was a trickle due to calcium buildup. Bed is lower to the ground than some hotels and I prefer it this way. I Would stay again .

This place is situated indeed in the middle of nowhere, as most of the comments stated. Perfect for guests with vehicles and up-to-date GPS and maps. The town itself was quiet, almost 'dead', which made the hotel pretty much the oasis for tourists. The place kinda had a scent of fried fish and it followed up to the 2nd floor where the rooms are. Had to ring the bell lotsa times before a friendly receptionist showed up, which was also a waitress/bartender/all-around. The room was adequately spacious for the 4 of us, no fridge nor coffee/tea station of that sort. Tried the restaurant downtairs, unfortunately the ribeye plank we ordered medium turned out very well-done and chewy like a gum and mashed tater was dry, the rest of the meals we had were alright like the meatballs and burger for the kids, there wasn't anything special though they didn't taste aweful. But they were kind enough to take it off the bill. Disappointed over the fact that there wasn't any personnel at night time and we felt we were left alone in this place. At 4am I called the # provided to ask if they even have a coffee machine and the 'awoken' night shift said there wasn't any, but was told to check again around 630am as there will be someone around.. Went back downtairs at 630am, still none around. Breakfast was at 8 which I believe was way too late. The same afternoon we came back, got my own instant coffee from a store so I asked for a water cooker to make my own and was told by another staff that there was in fact a coffee machine in the conference hall. Guess their personnels weren't well-informed enough? They had a bowling in the basement but unfortunately we were too 'late' as we showed up at 930pm and they are only open til 9. So another bummer on that. We booked this hotel as we had our focus on the resort Skara Sommarland, which was still like 10-15 minute drive from there. The staff were somehow friendly and accomodating, makes up for the poor hotel management. Good plain breakfast, shall I say, not the best but wasn't bad either. After all, it is a hotel in the middle of nowhere, just had to settle for what they can offer.
