My husband described this as camping with a nice bathroom. All I wanted was a bathrobe. I thought it was overpriced for off-season. We arrived after check in hours closed and they called me to say they would leave the key in the mailbox, which was fine. We found our room ok. The note with the key said there would... More

We took a trip to Salt & Sill an october weekend. No expectations in advance, and with the purpose to have time to talk to our best friends and chill. We spent most of the time sitting in the sofa's discussing and only took breaks for dinner and breakfast. A perfect place to visit during autumn: most of the staff... More

We had seen this place featured on a tv show, and when we were planning a trip to Sweden we decided to include it in our itinerary, and we were not disappointed. It's a unique experience, with the floating hotel rooms and the world-class restaurant. After arrival, we sat in the roof-top outdoor lounge area to enjoy the "welcome" half-bottle... More

The idea of a floating hotel seemed intriguing enough to warrant a stop along the Bohuslan coast. We had room #1, but it seems every room has its own view. The odd numbers face the deck of the restaurant and in many ways offer the best view. The even rooms may be quieter and offer their own swimming docks, though... More

I have NO words for "what a place!!!" Had a couple days at the most beautiful place in Klädesholmen, Bohuslän in Sweden - and once more, the swedes didn't let us down - no way!!! There're few things that isn't possible any place in the world - and that is Sweden. With the scrupulous, tidy, smiling, friendly, cleanliness, good food/drink... More

We just returned after two nights at this property. The location is amazing and the views stunning. Like most Swedish hotels, the rooms are super tiny. Sadly, if the weather is as amazing as we've been fortunate to experience, the rooms quickly heat up to uncomfortable levels, and it's almost impossible to cool doe unless you open the door and... The Salt & Sill is nicely situated at a quiet sea side location on Klädesholmen - if you get a room with ocean view, the view from the window is spectacular, and you are gently cradled into your dreams by the waves (the rooms are placed on a swimming structure that sways up and down with the waves). So far... More

Not your everyday boat hotel, Salt & Sill (Salt & Herring) combines an excellent restaurant with accommodations on a floating pier/boat. The rooms are small (don't even dream of coming with two large suitcases) but commodious and comfortable. The restaurant is the destination, serving some of the finest herring in the country. Excellent, friendly service and delicious food. Like everywhere... More

We stayed here for one night only in the end of August 2011. We booked through their website and got a package deal with one night stay, picnic basket at arrival, 3 course meal and breakfast included. The picnic basket was a bit uninspiring, but it didn't really matter so much. Our room was on ground, or shall I say... More

Unique retreat that offers great views and serves top local cuisine. We enjoy the walk in Kladesholmen village with its colourful collection of wooden holiday homes and sailing boats of all shapes and sizes.

“Ask for a room that faces the water side and not the 'dock side'. If you ask for a sea/ground level room you will have your own step ladder into the water, if you have a room on the first floor you will have a balcony - all a matter of choice. There is a little food shop, ICA, on the island where you can buy stuff, if you want some sweets, chocolates or specifics.”
