This is the second time we've visited and the food has been excellent on both occasions We have always visited during the week. There are at least 3 menus available all great value. We had lobster salad, turbot and profiteroles for €49

Visiting Brantome for the first time with friends, we decided to have the fixed price lunch - we assumed it was three courses as per the menu outside, oh how wrong we were... It was a wonderful dining adventure from the two pre-starter dishes, the palate cleansing sorbet, between starter and main, and then the two appetizer dishes prior to... More

We have been coming to this fabulous restaurant for many years now, it is our favourite in France. Les Freres Chabrol have now either retired or sadly passed away but still in safe family hands the restaurant continues to provide an excellent meal at very affordable prices. One dines on a very romantic balcony/terrace overlooking the river on very delicious... More

Great location for both the town and as a base to see the northern part of the Dordogne. Close to lots of restaurants, across the canal with easy access to the Abbey. The Hotel itself is quite old, our room overlooked the canal which was very picturesque, however no air-conditioning was a problem as we were close to the bridge... More

Outstanding food and very good service. It's a few years since we've been to Brantome and were delighted to find the restaurant is as good as ever. Recommend the cocktail du maison as an aperitif. Booking recommended.

We were spending a couple of weeks in a gite about 50 miles away and visited Brantome for the day but felt so at home that we booked into this hotel for the night. We had a room overlooking the river which was a bonus as the view was lovely. We ate in the restaurant and the food was superb.... More

We stayed in the annex building. The staff are friendly however we found the room a little dated in terms of decoration and comfort. Room was clean overall especially the bathroom. Some cobwebs in maim bedroom and stained ceiling. Linen and towels are clean but old fashioned blankets on the beds and shabby covers let it down. The location is... More

We have been eating here, annually, for well over 20 years and the beautiful situation by the river is enhanced, always, by the impeccable cuisine. The service was gracious and always perceptive. But, alone, was the problem of the muzak (yes, even on the terrace) and although we asked for it to be turned off it remained throughout our visit... More

Hotel was very good. Second floor balcony over looking the river. Clean and quiet. Restaurant is excellent. Fine dining with very good service. Wine list caters for the crazy expensive or the very reasonable local wines from Bergerac. Menu is small but covers most tastes and is beautifully cooked and presented. The terrace was lovely, overlooking the river and the... More

WE stayed here for one night in August and it was perfect. The staff were very professional and very friendly. The hotel is authentically French. We also ate in the restaurant overlooking the river and the food was wonderful. Would certainly go back again and would highly recommend it.
