Lovely hotel setting, perfect for taking a dog. Very relaxed & genuinely dog friendly. Very good breakfast sitting out on the terrace, before the day got too hot. An easy down hill walk into the Medieval town centre, only seemed a long hill up after a couple of bottles of wine. The next day, no problem, as no wine! Would...

Not much to add that hasn't been said before about this charming, rustic hotel. We loved our family room's location at the back of the hotel - handy for the swimming pool (where our six year old finally cracked swimming) and some of the outside seating areas where we could sit with a glass of wine and watch the shooting...

Our second visit here, it is a peaceful charming old French house, perched on a hill overlooking the town. The rooms are quirky and very individual. It is spotless and charming. The owner is very welcoming and the resident Alsatian takes a keen interest in every new arrival. We liked the tables, chairs and loungers dotted around the grounds, which,...

Nestled in the hills above Sarlat-la-Caneda, La Mason des Payrat is an absolute charmer. An old stone building converted into a small hotel, La Maison des Payrat offer generous and comfortable rooms, with ensuite bathrooms, comfortable beds and simple but elegant decorations. The location and the hotel are simply wonderful. The setting in the hills is beautiful, and the breakfast...

Just returned from a weeks stay here and we cannot fault anything with this wonderful hotel. Jean Marc was the nicest host, even picking us up from the train station on our first night. Nothing was too much trouble throughout our whole stay. Ginni, the beautiful dog, was always happy to see us and very cute. The room was clean,...

Such a lovely place with old world charm. Clean, neat and very well appointed. We were a family of 4 staying in the family room (#8) and absolutely loved it. Quirky low overhead in the bathroom and beams, but very fitting for the time period and done so nicely. Breakfast was fantastic, complete with warm croissants and local honey.

Very well located for Sarlat but you feel as though you're in the country. You drive through a residential area to get to it but once you are there you feel as though you are in the middle of nowhere. Room was perfectly adequate and nicely done. Bathroom and loo were lovely too.

“Very comfortable. Good ensuite, with a very good shower. Only down side was the heat, but soon remedied with the fan provided. We were on the south facing side & the temperature was well into the 30s, so hardly suprising. ”
