What a lovely gem of a place. We stayed in one of the cabins (with my parents in another). Everything was there that we needed. It had a little kitchenette, fully stocked with plates, cutlery, pans, hob, oven etc. We had a cabin with a little ladder going up to cots on the upper floor. We didn't need to use this bit ourselves. The cabins are self contained units which adjoin each other but located in a way that you have a little outdoor area which feels very private. My parents had a lovely garden area in front of theirs, some have a deck and we had a terrace. Parking on site. The staff could not have been more attentive. The lady on reception spoke perfect English which did help with the more detailed things we needed to know which our French was not good enough for. On arrival we were shown to our cabins earlier than expected and we then grabbed our picnic and sat in the breakfast restaurant area overlooking the well tendered gardens. There is a covered pool which my parents used and they said it was very nice. Breakfast is available if you book the previous day and is an extra cost but not much. The bed was very comfortable and the whole cabin was spotless. Cleaners visit every day if required to change the towels, empty bins, change bedding if needed, vacuum etc. We had an issue with the outside light and once highlighted to staff, it was fixed the same day. Lots of things to do in the local area. We visited the beach a bit further along from the main town and it was gorgeous and pretty empty. There are many many restaurants in the local area and particularly on the seafront. If you don't eat fish or seafood, you will need to venture a bit further up the road to find something else. It's a thriving oyster and moules farming area and as a result, the prices for seafood are able to be kept low. Recommend the pizza place towards the very end of the road away from the bustle of the seafront restaurants. They also do moules and frites which were the best we tasted and the pizza and tagliatelle were perfect - you will need to reserve a table in high season. The hotel gave us some recommendations of restaurants away from the seafront and we spent a lovely evening eating at one of them up high with the most wonderful view of the sea and the rocks and of course Mont St Michel, which is only a 40 min drive away and well worth the visit. All in all Hotel Nuit et Jour is a fabulous place to stay, reasonably priced, great service, spotless environment and very welcoming. We shall return! Thankyou to all the staff who clearly work very hard to keep up the high standards of service and cleanliness.

Stayed for 3 nights in September in studio chalet, very comfortable and well set up, chairs and tables outside each studio, Very quiet setting, Breakfast served due to Covid restrictions, fresh and plenty of. Staff are really helpful and rooms and hotel itself spotlessly clean. Pool small but perfect for a swim in the evening. 15 minutes walk into town, easy on way down, not as easy in the dark after a few glasses of wine. Would definately stay here again when in area

We have just come back from a really relaxing 3 days at Nuit et Jour. The staff were so friendly and helpful The lady at reception even lent us her own kettle for 3 nights! The continental breakfast was superb, as much as you want of everything from cerals to cheese washed down with ad lib coffee, chocolate, orange and even tea. The room was spotless and ours had a bath/shower and a large double bed. There was ample esay parking and a pool. We had a jaccussi session for which we had to pay but it meant we had it all to ourselves. The hotel was easy to find and was 15 mins walk to town centre another 5 mins to the sea and its many seafood etc resraurants. Super 3 days. Well done Brittany Ferries for selecting the hotel in your packages.

we stayed here in August for one evening on the way to the ferry at St Malo, only 15 mins away. It was our third stay and certainly won't be our last. The welcome was really good and after a long hot journey we sat outside and were served ice cold beer from the little bar. The gardens are beautiful and very well kept. We stayed in a 'cottage' in the gardens and were delighted. They sleep 4 people (we were just 2) 2 downstairs and 2 upstairs. A good size bathroom with a bath and shower, all spotlessly clean. The bed was comfortable and large. There is a private sitting out area with table and chairs. Very happy with our stay which was just 69 euros, the breakfast was 8 euros but we didn't try that.

We have just returned from four nights at this hotel. Although the room was a bit small, the bed was very big and comfortable. Everything was spotlessly clean. The garden was beautiful with lots of trees and shrubs and we even went in the pool one afternoon even though the weather was a bit cool. The pool has a cover over it and so was very warm. The room where we ate a very good breakfast was very nice with views of the garden. It would be lovely in the sumer to sit out on the patio and have breakfast. Even though the hotel is on a main road it is very quiet at night. We took our bicycles and cycled along the coast to St Malo one day and on another day, cycled across country to St Malo on little roads which were marked out for cyclists. We would certainly stay there again.

Our second stay in this hotel. Not exactly a top location in the area, but still great value for money. The bungalow style rooms are comfortable, clean and quiet. You're not in the city center, but close enough to walk there, or just 5 minutes by car if that's what you prefer to do.

We've used this hotel twice, now, prior to catching the Saint-Malo ferry to Portsmouth - the ferry-port is about 15-20 minutes' drive away. The hotel is clean, comfortable, quiet, set in very pleasant gardens and has a friendly reception. There's also a pool and - if you want more frenetic activity - a ping-pong table.

It's a really nice 5-8min walk down to Cancale harbour for food and drink. If you don't feel like that, there's a small bar with sitting out area. Even after an evening at the harbour we spent a relaxed late-night hour with a glass or two on a hotel-garden bench under the stars, reflecting on what a lovely break we'd had down in the Charente. And it's great value for money. What's not to like?!

Stayed two nights, quite, pleasant - lovely staff, very clean, only improvement suggested is better Wifi - signal is great speed is painful for most simple tasks. Certainly would be happy to return but not for business with the state of the wifi.

Cancale, with its lively seafood restaurants makes a great stopover before the St Malo/Portsmouth ferry crossing but the Nuit et Jour motel-style hotel would make a good base for exploring this lovely coast.
There's ample on-site parking.
Rooms range from fairly basic to some including a kitchenette but all have what's needed for a comfortable stay (apart from hairdryers).
Breakfast offers an excellent array of fresh items and staff are helpful and accommodating. No doubt we shall be returning again.

We normally book at least 4 star places, so I was a little apprehensive - but I didn't need to be. We stayed in a garden facing room, rather than a self catering cottage. The room was modern, spotlessly clean, very comfortable bed, and large enough for us to be comfortable for 4 nights. The cottages looked lovely, and had their own outside spaces which would have been nice for those evenings when we didn't fancy the walk to the port for dinner. We did not have a car, and I think if you want to stay here then it's a good idea and there is free parking. We were on our bikes or walking, and the cycle trips from the hotel were plentiful, but of course you don't always want to bike it to a restaurant in the evening. It was a 15 minute walk downhill to an array of very very good eateries at the Port, but note that it's 15 minutes uphill on the way back to the hotel!! The breakfasts were well worth it - again, because if we didn't eat at the hotel then it was a walk or cycle out, but they were good value and plentiful ( croissants, bread, eggs, pancakes, cheese, yogurts, honey etc.) I loved the help yourself to the coffee machine ( latte / cappuccino etc). The pool area and surrounding gardens were by far the biggest treat though - a lovely area to spend warm afternoons, and even in the rain the pool area could be covered and was warm and relaxing. There were plenty of really good quality and comfortable sun beds too, so you were never out of luck. We stayed as a couple, but there were families too and everyone seemed equally pleased with the amenities and services. There was an area to keep our bikes locked up and safe too.
This place really did not disappoint, I would strongly recommend it if you are looking for clean, well maintained, contemporary and good value. We didn't try the gym or the jacuzzi but the building looked contemporary and well kept too.
We will definitely be back to use as a base for exploring more of the region., and visiting more of the really good restaurants.
We cycled from St Malo, and the route was easy and you go either round the coast or more direct.
