Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We stayed here for two nights to explore the coast of Brittany. It was a good central point for what we wanted and the hotel itself was excellent for a two star. The owner speaks very good English and was very helpful with giving us directions and recommending places to eat. Our room was lovely and very clean, we had a wonderful little private terrace to sit outside and relax. If we were to visit this area of Brittany again we would definitely stay here.

Delightful hotel with charming and friendly owners. Our room was spacious, comfortable and spotless, facing a quiet street and the location is perfect for walking around the sights of Lamballe. The continental breakfast - at an additional charge - was very good too. We parked on the Place du Marche just around the corner (after checking that it was ok to do so - it was!). Would love to have stayed longer.

I stayed at Le Lion D'or for three nights on a recent business trip to the area. On check in the owners were very friendly and helpful; I questioned about best place to park and they gave lots of advice - parking wasn't issue. The room was bright and airy with a nice rooftop view. The room and bathroom were very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was typical continental type, but with fresh croissants and pain aux chocolate. I would definitely stay here again.

The room I stayed in was large, clean, comfortable and quiet. The staff is very friendly and helpful. It is nestled on a cobblestone street within easy walking distance of the train station and restaurants. Breakfast costs extra and is adequate.

Very good hotel, there is a lot of parking options nearby. Our room was not that spacious but for a 2 star, it was well equipped, and extremely clean. We slept very well as it is so quiet there and breakfast was a pleasant surprise. The 2 gentlemen who helped us at breakfast and at the front desk were very pleasant and friendly. We will go back to this hotel if we are in the area during the high season

Very nice hotel, rooms very clean, staff very friendly, not too hard to find and walking distance to a few restaurants although as we arrived on a bank holiday these were all closed. Lamballe a nice town worth a visit.

Nicely renovated old building which has had the necessities of modern life added with care and attention. The owners are helpful and on hand to sort out problems and give advice and with the overall impression that they enjoy what they are doing which gives the place its ambience. My only criticism is that the breakfasts are a little uninspiring.

Arrived on spec after deciding to stop overnight on route to St. Malo ferryport. The hotel had a good recommendation in a well known travel guide, which was well deserved. Warm welcome, spotless room with great views over the town. Good night's sleep followed by a continental breakfast of fresh breads and good coffee.

The owner was waiting for me at 23h as my train from Paris was late. I had two problems. A virus in my IMac and a defective Samsonite suitcase. He did his best to help me and solved the luggage problem the following morning. My room was clean, quiet and with a comfortable bed. The next morning he helped me print some documents and even drove me to my meeting. The breakfast was copious and with good produce. The location is near the Collegiate Notre Dame church and about 5 minutes from the station. I will return.
