We used this site for a one night stopover. It is in the town center of Macon. Although it is close to the road there is very little traffic noise. The town has lots of shops bars and restaurants. The only toilet block that was open was quite new. It was clean and warm. There is a bar and restaurant...

We came for a weekend car rally in Macon and stayed for a week. Huge site. Wide choice of pitches. We had a motorhome, a trailer and a rally car on one pitch. Very shady with mature trees. Not busy and certainly not noisy. Recently refurbished washing, wc and shower area. Pleasant and helpful staff who were still open at...

Calais to Macon 5h 57 min (690.0 km) via A26 We stayed in the Camping Municipal De Macon, 1 Rue Des Grandes Varennes. Macon, Burgundy. Pitches: 266 /Open: March To October. This site is excellent but is mainly used as a stopover by those travelling to and from the south of France and Spain. The pitches are large and most...

For someone looking for a quiet place not ideal (there is a diso nearby and if You stay in a tent You will hear the noise until 4 o clock in the morning (this might be different for someone with a caravan). WiFi did not work (during my stay) The swimming pool is fine, but if You arrive late and...

We stayed at Camping Municipal De Macon and just like our last site was used mostly as a transit site although this time with good reason. Firstly its located close to the A6 and A40 motorways. Secondly there are two big supermarkets close by (Lidl and Auchan) giving you an opportunity to stock up. Also unlike Nancy, Mâcon has little...

Unfortunately I stopped the hottest afternoon ever in France I remember and they were reforming their pool...Apart from that, everything more than OK : sanitaries, overall place, modernity...If I find out places to visit around it, I'll repeat, although the immediate surroundings don't make you have a walk (it's a commercial area on Mâcon's outskirts)

The girl on the reception was very unfriendly and couldn't really anwer any question, never get treated so on a reseption...the internet was not working at all, there is no few and the camping places are really closed by, no privacy. For a four star it is really bad, the center is far you need to use a bicicle, the...

An excellent campsite with great modern facilities. Free WIFI. A common room with table and chairs was also a bonus. A couple of table and chairs for the 'touring cyclist' would have made it perfect. The reception ladies were also very friendly and efficient.

We always stop here in our motorhome and sometimes for a couple of days if we have been travelling. Easy to find from the Auto Route but do get there early in the high season because it fills very quickly with Dutch caravaners travelling both north and south who will all be gone by around 10am. Facilities have been updated...

Travelling back from the Med coast at the end of October we needed an overnight stop with our caravan on the way to Calais. Big problem at this time of year is there is not much open. However, this came on Google and what a gem. Easy to find off the A26 the friendly welcome made us glad of our...
