I gave this 4 stars based on the help and friendly reception we got on arrival. The accommodation is basic but clean and very central. We arrived early evening having booked 1hour before, due to our vehicle breaking down. Recommendation was given by reception to eat at a local restaurant, and even booked for us. The meal was outstanding and...

The hotel has a past, like its neighbourhood. It is managed against the odds, but trimmings needs refits. The mirror in the bathroom was cracked, the toilet seat loose, the cupboard did not close, and the towels were in short supply. However, the price is modest, and the location is not bad. We were able to lock our bicycles in...

The hotel just turned over the management. Some issues with checking in, the run-down neighborhood, and the construction around the place influenced our decision to leave and not stay here. Perhaps now that the management has had some time to get their feet on the ground perhaps it would be better. First finding parking at this place was a pain...

The landlady was very welcoming and helpful, the location very central and there is a lovely roof top terrace. However the room was tiny and I struggled to open the door wide enough to get my suitcases in; it also stank of smoke. Two of the five electric bulbs were not working, the toilet seat was coming off and the...

Hotel Alma has a history, like its neighbourhood. It is courageously and bravely managed against the odds of a multi-ethnic neighbourhood that in is in flux. The clean, basic rooms have WiFi that at times comes and goes. I was able to lock my bicycle in a safe garage not far from the hotel.

It has the feel of a botique style b and b although it is a little in need of renovation. You can't beat the value for money in this location. The lady on reception was lovely and showed us where all the close attractions were.

Not a good start for us being quoted £124 on booking.com for a superior room two single beds for three nights, on arrival we were asked to pay £146 for a room with 2 double beds! A balcony is an overstatement. standing room only for two people! The shower cannot be attached to the wall - hand held body spray...

This is a reasonably cheap hotel and you get what you pay for. Everything is ok though the room was very dusty and no mattress protectors on the bed. You only get 1 towel each and there is a need for some maintenance in the room. The room had a nice balcony and the roof top terrace is a gem...

A small room up many many steps but clean and comfy with a fan which worked reasonably well. A noisey neighbours air con unit didn't help but we still got a good sleep. The hotel was fairly central and the breakfast ok. Staff helpful.

Best was wifi reception and the staff were helpful. Otherwise there is nothing to recommend. The rooms were small. We had the largest, supposedly for 4, containing two small double beds. Wallpaper is dirty, breakfast bread baskets were tattered and filthy.
