Good size camp with decent pool and slides. Only a 20 minute drive from the airport and several supermarkets close by. The entertainment is french orientated which is normal and an appeal to some. Public ferry to Canet is good as the beach is better over there.

We went as a group of friends - two adults and four kids in June. We thought we were saving money by not hiring a car, but I would recommend getting one from the airport for the week - because we ended up paying 100 Euro's each way for taxis to and from the airport, and then the site itself is in a Nature reserve, which is a good 30 minute walk from the main part of town - so if you have little kids or people who cannot walk far, then a car would be essential. We ended up using Uber alot, and it all racked up to be about the same as if we had hired a car. The local supermarket is about 20/30 mins away walking. The site itself is in a lovely spot - in a woodland area adjacent to the beach. It also sides onto the working side of the harbour - so the front side of the site faces boat repair and jet ski shops etc - so that is interesting if you like boats. Its quite industrial though - so less romantic. The beach at the bottom of the site is spectacular and very large. There are no lifeguards and its quite wild - so best for walks rather than swimming unless you are a local or experienced sea swimmer. Now, the accommodation was the classic static caravan type - with AC which was great. It was spacious enough - and had everything we needed. The pools at the park were really great. Lots of slides and very clean. Weirdly the main pool is sort of created to look like its hewn from rock (its concrete but made to look like rock) and so the edges are really rough. The kids cut their toes a few times in the first few days - but they soon learnt not to scuff about on the rocks! There is a second pool in the quieter part of the park (behind the restaurant) its small and there are no slides etc in that one - but it was heavenly -we were often the only ones there. Its surrounded by bougainvillea and is very pretty and restful. Defo our favourite spot. The kids club looked alright, but it wasn't open in June. It is only open in July and August. We did have some animation though -the team were excellent -doing aquarobics in the day and then some kids discos and things in the evening. The restaurant/bar was sweet, and the staff lovely. We speak a bit of French, and so we managed to get by. We had fun teaching the kids how to ask for things in French with the staff. The food was excellent. Rousillion itself is a lovely small town - fantastic beach and lots of shops and restaurants to browse. The weather wasnt amazing when we were there, so the resort wasnt all systems go, but there was still plenty to see. Fantastic old carousel on the seafront. And an amazing Aquarium. Overall, we would definitely go back, but we would hire a car!

Camping les Peupliers is a campsite where there are self catering homes and campsite pitches run by several different operators - the main two being Roan Camping and Eurocamps. We hired a two bedroom home from Eurocamp. Camping les Peupliers is situated in the town of Canet-en-Rousillon. It's an excellent location if you want access to a decent sandy beach that isn't too populated by sunbathers. Just a little further south is the main town of Canet which has a much larger and fine sanded beach, but that one is also more popular with tourists. The campsite is also a good starting point for visiting other towns, eg Perpignon or even venturing an hour or so across the border to Spain or Andorra. The home resembles the kind of mobile home or caravan you find in most campsite type holidays. Rooms are small but cosy and a two bed home is good enough for a family of three or four. When we stayed the weather was very warm and sunny every day so washing and drying clothes was easy. On site there is a laundrette, two small swimming pools (one of which includes water slides). There is also an artificial grass sports pitch, boules area, table tennis tables, basketball area and a miniature tennis court. If you want a more regular sized tennis court - you'll have to walk a few minutes into the town where there is a tennis club. There is a small store where you can buy bread but it's very basic so you are best driving to nearby Lidl or Intermarche. There is also a restaurant on site but it wasn't open throughout our two week stay.

Just coming up to the end of a 7 night stay here as part of a longer holiday in France. Booked in the UK with Al Fresco holidays. Good points: Accommodation - our Rossini Riviera unit was lovely and on a good pitch. Worth noting that Al Fresco units appeared to be better than their sister company Eurocamp and that pitches on Les Peupliers appeared much nicer than on the Bosquet side. Pools - kids really enjoyed the pools and usually able to get sunbeds. Slides are great fun but unfortunately the lifeguards appear generally more interested in enforcing the no shorts rule than safety. Bosquet quiet pool a nice change of pace if needed. Resort - Canet is a lovely place that we would definitely like to return to. You can get the small train from outside resort (cost us 10€ return for 2 adults, 1 9 year old and a 3 year old) or is about 5/10 mins drive. The walk is a bit awkward if you have a young one. Lovely beach with beach bars and loads of places to eat. Beach - absolutely stunning and about 5-10 mins walk away. Bad points: The advertised bar/restaurant doesn't appear to exist (well its there but it was never open... it's like they don't want our money!) and the takeaway... well we ordered 2 kids meals and 2 burgers and chips on our first night that took an hour to make. If you want takeaway go out of the site and to the left there is a pizza takeaway van that does good pizzas! Shop - opens when he feels like and isn't particularly well stocked - fortunately there are Casino and Intermarche supermarkets close by and a massive Carrefour 10 minutes away on the edge of Perpignan. Entertainment - sorry but it is dreadful and doesn't cater to anyone that isn't French. We've been to many places around Europe that have an international crowd that cater to everyone, the worst thing it just appears they can't be bothered to try as they do speak English and other languages. Most of the time we ventured down there were people there other than those from France and to be blunt we felt like the non French children were excluded as they didn't make any effort - apart from one evening when a clearly annoyed parent pointed out the presence of British children that they started to engage with the not inconsiderable amount of them there. In summary would absolutely return to the area but Eurocamp/Al Fresco either need to work with the site to improve their offering and ensure that advertised facilities are available or stop selling the site. We've had a great time as the pools are good, beach is lovely and Canet is a lovely town but wouldn't return to this site.

Booked here with eurocamp as a last minute thing in Jan and.limed the look of the pool complex as we have two young grandchildren. Van was what we expected in size and was big enough for what we wanted. The site is small but was clean and tidy, however the facilities leave a lot to be desired. The shop, if you can call it that does great croissants and bread in the morning but not much else. The takeaway/restaurant is open when it can be bothered and provides limited options and the bar changes from a bar area to a.htch in the shop depending on which way the wind was blowing. Aside from that the staff were friendly and polite and helpful although English isn't their strength so be prepared to tray and talk French. The pool area is compact but big enough for the size of site it is and has water slides as well. It was clean and open 10 - 10 every day. The biggest things that let the site down is the location as it is the wrong side of the harbour for the town, which is a 35min walk or you can get a land train from outside for 3.5euro return that takes 10 mins. The central shop, bar and entertainment area need investment and a wider range of language spoken by the entertainment staff as everything is in French. All in all would I come back, yes but only as a last minute and that is more to do with location in relation to the town than anything else.

The campsite was small and clean which is what we hoped for. The pools were well maintained and looked after as was the caravan. The beach was lovely and only a 5 mins walk away with restaurants and shops slightly further afield. The downside we had was that our caravan was literally next to the outside evening entertainment which was sooo loud (and naff) and this went on til midnight most nights. One night the bass was so loud our beds were literally vibrating. If you’re happy with an over zealous French man screeching down a microphone every night .... this is the place to go

Campsite is located on the harbour side of town and aimed at younger families. It’s a short walk to the beach or a 10min drive into Canet En Roussillon. There is a land train that takes you into town for €7 return. There are two pools, the main one was much smaller than expected but has slides and a walk in pool. Pool opens at 10am and there are not enough sun loungers, so get there early. Entertainment in the evening at the bar and all done by 11pm. Won a massage at the Bingo, which was a lovely treat! We stayed with Eurocamp, in a chalet style accommodation. This was basic but did have air con (a must) and a deck to sit out on in the evening. The chalet was tired and there were a few niggling issues that weren’t ever resolved during our stay; One of beds was broken, a leak under the kitchen sink, light bulbs gone to name but a few.... I’d strongly suggest you take some cleaning wipes, as everything needed a wipe down. It was all really grubby. We ordered the welcome packs, they were a bit smaller than expected but at least we could have a cup of coffee on arrival. Beds were ok and linen clean, you do have to make beds on arrival. Reps were friendly and location was pleasant. I would recommend the Le Swim Restaurant on the beach, food was amazing and location was even better. Meal for 3 was €120 inc wine, but totally worth it. A lovely holiday had by all but won’t be rushing back!

This camping site is unbelievably noisy during the night. Probably this is more a problem for the caravans and tents, because they are closer to the restaurant than the mobile homes. Until about midnight (once until 1am) there is a very annoying mix of very loud music from the campsite and the neighbouring campsite. During the day - ironically - the place was very calm with no animation. - 10 minutes walk to the beach - Small but very friendly and cheap shop - Nice pool with slides for children - clean sanitation - no activities for children

Small friendly campsite in Canet en Roussillon with good facilities including swimming pool and water slides. We stayed at the end of August when the site was very quiet and the weather still very good. Shower / toilet facilities were good. Stayed with Vancansoleil in one of their "ready-tents" which were perfectly adequate for the 4 of us. Tip - you need to take bed-sheets / pillows etc

We went to this camping in july, I'm 17 years old, but on Zoover we read that this was a camping specifically focused on little kids. But that was not a thing that really bothered me, because you can walk to the sea from the camping. And I love the sea haha... but anyway, it's a very small camping, but everything is there. There is a restaurant, a small shop where you can pick up your bread in the morning. You need to make a reservation for the breads that you want, except for the normal 'baguette'. The swimming pool, just as the tennis- and basketballcourt are very small (focused on kids). There is no wifi at the houses or campingplaces, therefore you need to go the recepetion, but the wifi is extremely slow. the staff is very friendly, they are patient and help you out where needed. The camping is very beautifully situated, across the camping you have a big harbour. There is a supermarket very close near the camping, a intermarché, around 3 minutes with the car. Overall we had 2 very nice and relaxing weeks in les peupliers. And moreover, the prices are not high at all.
