A quaint dated hotel in a quiet area of town. The rooms are large and clean, with ensuite. But our room didnt have A/C. near buy are some Reasturaunt's and bars. It also has the bonus of a garage 2 mins away. This is a secure garage with key code access.

a nice and comfortable place, down in city center. Good breakfast in the morning, very efficient and kind staff. Mr Phalippou was so helpful to us: we had a problem with our car and he helped us a lot finding the garage to have it repaired, so that we could go on with our holiday. The hotel was also hosting...

The hotel is clean and tidy. A good sized room, modest-sized clean, tiled bathroom. Plenty of storage for bags etc. Tarbes was a stop over for us and not a destination, nor is this a destination hotel. Overpriced for what you get if you walk in off the street as we did. A three star but no air-con. Parking in...

Tarbes does not appear to be a destination resort in August: nor so was it for us on a one night stopover. The internet did not prepare us for the time warp in which we found ourselves. Charming, strange and completely at odds with common expectations of hotel norms. Do check out the Memphis style shoeshine machine on the first...

I have learnt the hardway that in France, star ratings specially at the lower end of the market are utterly meaningless. While the Hotel Henri iv was better than some 3 stars at which I have stayed in France, it is still pretty naff and if I can afford better I will. Specially if I am not on business. First...

At number 5 in trip advisor I was expecting a little more. But I guess the biggest drawback of this hotel is it's just not modern and could do with a make over in the last 10 years. So on first impressions it appears un clean but it's not. The staff are friendly and helpful. The rooms are a good...

I booked this hotel via the internet and as is often the case my impression of its web image gave a misleading presentation. On 21st August I was on my way back to the UK after two weeks of hard trekking in the Pyrenees and had booked this hotel expecting a night of relative luxury after living in gites and...

I have spent three days in tarbes now, and bless my luck in choosing the henri iv, mainly from the look of the outside originally. My room (17) has a small private balcony and is spacious, with a large bathroom. Everything works perfectly, is well appointed, and the staff are friendly & polite. To me it seems an absolute bargain...
