This hotel is not your average concrete box where you could be anywhere in the world. This is French through and through - a 15th century manor house, huge beamed rooms, very comfortable beds and modern plumbing. The couple who own and run it are charming, speak English and give the whole place a relaxed family feel. It is quiet...

Fantastic stay...really no idea why there have been bad reviews of this charming hotel... although reading said reviews I can picture the type of customer and probably wouldn't appreciate their custom so please take their comments with a pinch of salt. The Manor is quirky and an experience to be savoured, home cooked meals served with enthusiasm and a good...

What a surprise to see such negative comments, our experience could not have been more different ! We stayed in the Manoir for a couple of nights recently and had such a lovely stay. It is not often that you have the opportunity to stay in such a historic setting. The welcome was very warm and professional, the owners went...

We stayed in what we were told would be a deluxe room, it was far from deluxe. We were given two option of room but both were of the same standard - not deluxe. Upon arriving back late to our room we got into bed, which was damp, the room felt damp. The lighting in the bathroom was unsafe. There...

If ever in Laval, this is the place to stay! Thanks for the warm welcome, the great food, the atmosphere...! You can feel the passion both of the owners put into this amazing hotel with incredible surrounding. What more can you ask for? Spotless room and bathroom, homecooked meals and the relaxed and loving way the owners make you feel...

When we read the review of BijouB001, we thought that maybe they were not familiar with older properties, and as we live in a 400 year old cottage, we are aware of the charm and character such properties can hold. However, we were soon disappointed. Things didn't look good when we first saw the board outside the hotel, which looked...

While it is understandable that a property of this age will have some quirks and may require some work, what I find totally unacceptable is a lack of regard for basic standards of safety and cleanliness! We arrived to stay for several days for a family funeral. Unfortunately there were no rooms available anywhere else in Laval, otherwise I doubt...

We enjoy staying away from hotels and this was a great find. Not everyone's cup of tea if you want everything pristine and new... it is an old manor steeped in history. It can be a bit musty smelling in the stairwell but the room was fine. It was huge with the open bathroom. It is like experiencing history with...

A really great experience, more like a very relaxed stay with friends and one of the highlights of our holiday. Our room (number 3) was very comfortable and had a lovely view of the woods. Natalie's cooking was delicious - the sort of meal we were looking forward to from our stay in France. Pierre was very amusing and a...

“Laval is a pleasant town, enjoyable walks along the river. Found a great chocolatier in the old town, near the chateau. The manoir is about a mile from the town centre and on a hill, so if you walk in to town, it's up hill all the way back.”
