Fantastic pool area with slides and heated outdoor pool and super heated indoor pool. Went at the end of August and was always able to find a sunbed, but the park was by no means full and so they could do with more sunbeds. Staff all very friendly and helpful. WiFi was OK if you could get it but not all pitches can get WiFi - we could hardly get it at all. The site is in an area with very little phone or data coverage.

Very friendly people: reception, bar - restaurant, animation crew. Thanks for making our vacation great! Also very clean chalets! Everything you need is available! We would recommend this camping to people with children. They have a nice swimming pool with tubes, play ground, our children loved this place! Also for the middle of summer, not to crowded.

The site itself was clean and well looked after; and the staff helpful and friendly. The pool was clean and well maintained, and of an excellent temperature. However, please do not visit this campsite/caravan park/resort if you are expecting a quiet place to stay. Directly joining (the other side of a small hedge) is Plein Sud Camping, which seems to be party central non stop. Several nights we were kept awake until fine 5am... such a massive shame for an otherwise pleasant site.

We had a great holiday here. The site is extremely clean and well organised. The pools are good and the new slides and children’s water area excellent. British should be aware that this is a predominantly French site and whilst we were most welcome by everyone it did mean that our kids couldn’t make friends and that some of the entertainment wasn’t as accessible. The location is brilliant. 5 min drive from the excellent beachfront 8 mins to Explora Park. The indoor pool can get a bit overrun at times and would benefit from better supervision as some of the teenagers messed about and took risks that made it dangerous for themselves and others. When we had a problem with our electric supply it was fixed within 30 mins, which was great. Biggest problem was the poor Wi-fi in the site. Other sites along the strip advertise free Wi-fi but we had to pay here €24 for 2 devices for a weeks access. We wouldn’t have minded but we could hardly use it as it was so poor. We wouldn’t get it in our caravan, and the best locations for it were where we could get 4G signal on our phones. total was a total waste of money and the only reason why we might not return here. …

Stayed in our own tent pitch was large with water and ehu. The park had excellent toilet blocks/showers never had to queue. Washing machine and dryer on site. The pool area was fabulous and the water slides. Park was quiet at night so had a great sleep. Staff all friendly. Would stay again.

This was our first trip abroad camping in a tent. After reading some reviews about thefts and bathrooms being locked at night we were somewhat apprehensive. Unnecessarily tho it seems. We had a brilliant time and althought the bathrooms are locked at night there is always one still available in each block. Staff were friendly and helpful and the children enjoyed the park and pool complex on site. Our only downfall was that the pitches were very close together, even if seperated well by hedges the noise from others seemed to carry a lot. That said, still a great stay for us thank you.

Recently returned home from a 2 wk stay on an tourism pitch with electric & water on this site. We had a lovely time here, brought back memories for my husband who had stayed here previously with his dad over 12 years ago! Upon arrival, the girls in reception were happy to help & very quickly helped us book in with a little map of the site so we could find our way to the pitch. It was slightly annoying that there wasn’t an electric socket for us , seeing as thats what we had booked, they sent the maintenance man over with a very long lead , in fact he had to walk through 3 other pitches before he could attach it for us! And when it tripped one evening, we couldn’t go and put it back on as the box was locked! So we had to wait overnight with no electric in our caravan! Also a strange thing was, they closed the toilet block at 11pm every night, so we had to walk to the main shower/toilet block Where one toilet was available to use, but for a site that big, we thought it was an odd thing to do!? Apart from that, the site was great, lovely pool area & 2 slides, the new bar area was fab aswell, the staff who seemed to work non stop were lovely & always made an effort to speak to us. Saint Jean de Monts old town itself was very pretty, and we spent many evenings along the beach front too, fabulous restaurants, too many to chose from! Would definitely recommend this area for family’s who want to holiday with the best of both, beach one side and then inland all sorts of tourist attractions! Bike hire very reasonable, bike tracks all around the site & across the road which you could cycle to the towns either side of the site, Notre-Dame de Monts next town over was so lovely! We would definitely return to Les Places Dorees sometime in the future.…

A clean, well maintained site. Friendly staff. Good location to explore the area. Could not fault the campsite and believe it to be typical of the campsites in that area (ie. pitches are not huge but seems that this is the norm).

When we adventually found this campsite it was a relief, we were very tired as we had driven from the south of France. It was late August so it was very quiet especially after the manic, loud, noisey week we had experienced down the south of France, all we wanted was sleep and relaxation! Our pitch was not good, we were allocated a pitch where the electrical hook up was miles away!! Why.... being out of season we asked! The campsite was very empty we couldn't really understand the problem! We spoke to the receptionist and she soon rectified the problem :-) We were settled after a long drive. Overall the pitches were a great size, we had a VW T5, a 5 man tent and a gazebo, still loads of room left for lounging around. The pool and pool area was great, we all enjoyed it, although we all had left and I had left my sun oil next to my bed and forgot to pick it up, my daughter went back 5 minutes later and it had been taken, we did experience a couple of times that there were thiefs around the campsite, so be warned! Toilets were a bit of an issue especially if your a lady and you don't have any conviences in your tent/motorhome, I strongly agree and have never noticed toilets being shut at night, all right for the male speciem, but what about the ladies? Overall great place near by to everything, pool is great, pitches are too, but the toilet situation is not good, nothing we have to experience in England!…

Excellent accommodation and amenities. Great for our grandchildren. Not stayed on a campsite since our own children were small and had doubts. Very helpful staff, easy parking, well equipped and cleanliness of site, pools and accommodation was excellent. would go back.
