What a fantastic hotel centrally placed for the bars and restaurants of Calais. A very warm and friendly welcome from the delightful receptionist. The hotel is a treasure trove of period furniture and the rooms are spacious, spotless and comfortable. The landings and corridors are wide with stunning pictures and quirky furniture throughout. Apparently Queen Victoria stayed here. The cosy...

For the money (a room for three adults for about £60) I expected very little but actually it was very nice. A nice looking hotel, central (short walk to the very centre), clean, comfortable, good service.

What a lovely place to stay, clean, friendly and quirky in a good way! The staff were superb and even pretended not to notice that I don't speak French! Lots of local car parking too, all free! Staying in Calais? Give them a try.

Obviously not to everybody's total liking, but if you are not keen on motel chains and actually enjoy French quirkiness, then is the place to stay. Unlike some visitors, we have always found the staff to be friendly and accommodating and were pleased to find that although new owners are in place, the staff are largely the same. The evening...

We booked a standard double, clean crisp sheets, smart and perfect adequate. Hotel was quiet and we were offered a suite. We took the suite as it was a little bigger, and much 'older' in style. The staff were adorable, helpful and friendly, didn't encounter anyone we didn't immediately like. The car park is big enough for about 12 cars,...

We stay here normally 3 times a year, but have not been for 9 months. The hotel has new managers/owners but thus far pleased to say things have not changed. (A good thing in our view) Hotel is a step back in time to a grander age. Only slight let downs this time during our latest visit was that one...

From the outside this hotel is nothing special, it is on a quiet back street in Calais and the building looks quite drab. Once inside, however, it is a different story. Although a little dated and mis-matched, the decor is opulent and exotic, with furniture and ornaments from all over the world, most of it very elegant. There is a...

We had heard it had changed hands since our previous visit. Restaurant now closed, but this isn't too bad as there are some good ones literally round the corner. On arrival, slightly frazzled after a car journey the receptionist was off-hand. The type of room we'd asked for hadn't been reserved. Her reaction-it was someone else's mistake! We were given...

On a 2 day shopping trip to France stayed at this hotel overnight before more shopping. The hotel has a lot of character. If you want a clinically clean hotel do not stay here but if you want a hotel full of charm and character you will not be disappointed. Situated in a quiet street in Calais we had no...
