We picked the Chateau because of its restaurant, and I'm glad we did. Just off the autoroute, near St. Quentin, the Chateau is (well-signposted and) easy to find in Neuville St. Amand. Set in a large and pretty park, there is ample parking. Our room was just up the stairs from reception, and it was pleasingly spacious, though the furnishings...

I spent one night here en route to Calais. The bedroom was large and rather spartan. It had a separate shower room and separate wc. The bed was comfortable but the room smelt of sewage which seemed to reduce when you ran the cold water tap in the basin for a while. The restaurant was quite fun and atmospheric. We...

We've stayed here a number of times, and is perfectly OK, if not exciting. This bit of France is a bit of a desert, so it is well above the local average. There are rooms both in the main building and in an annexe. There is not a great deal to choose between them. The grounds suggest there may have...

We booked this as on overnight stop on the way home and were disappointed to find that we had been given a room in a "new-ish" block behind the main house. There was no access to the house from this block so on a rainy night, getting to the restaurant was not much fun. The room was large enough and...

Our last stay of 3 weeks away. A very modest room at the back. Rather uninspiring and a bit pricey for what it was BUT- BUT- BUT the restaurant is a dream come true As the last day of holiday we had Margeaux snail frogs legs duck and steak. Proper French food as it used to be before all those...

I stayed here for one night on my south. The rooms are in an annexe about 50 yards from the château. Mine was a large room simply but adequately furnished, with a large double bed. The lavatory was separate, and the bathroom had a large “Italian” shower. The room was 85 euro (for one person) plus tax and 13 euro...

We had a room in the new wing at the rear of the hotel. Whilst the location was quiet, the peace was often disturbed by the opening and closing of the external door. The room was pleasant enough. We ate out for dinner; the reakfast was fairly minimal and laking in finesse and service was less than warm.

Travelling South from Calais on a Sunday (or indeed a Monday) meant we could not stay here at the start of our holiday as they are officially closed but we could when returning North. Actually the owner, Claude, said he could offer the room on a Monday night but no dinner So, we revisited after 3yrs and little has changed,...

Our room and bathroom were both spacious, the furniture and decor of good quality but dated. Excellent shower and separate WC. Mini bar (which we did not use). Very comfortable bed with best pillows we've ever had in France. Lovely view from room which had a Juliet balcony. The restaurant is very stylish and the service impeccable. We opted to...

This was our second visit to this hotel and it confirms our earlier review about the quality of the food. It was a tour de force and all quite brilliant. I even ventured to have the calf's head despite the waiter wondering if I really knew what I was getting into (calf's brain, cheek and tongue in case you want...
