The location is lovely being both central to the amenities, the old port and river. The rooms are spacious, very clean and well arranged with some English speaking TV channels but otherwise, for the cost, a little plain. Michael is the most charming and helpful principle receptionist and all those in the restaurant equally so making dining a pleasure. Food... More

I came out of my one night stay at the hotel of the la Corderie Royale in Rochefort with mixed feelings. There are some aspects which are truly those of the four star hotel it claims to be. This includes a very nice historic building, beautiful grounds and a classy restaurant (that we only used for a (very good) breakfast).... More

the room was very pleasant and the staff were very helpful and nothing was to much trouble the last few metres were confusing and made the search for the hotel a little difficult to find but in the end we sorted ourselves out and finally found it

It took us a while to spot the reception desk when we wallked through the front door, rather tucked away in the corner. Our room as up one level and down what felt like a lot of corridors with lights that don't stay on and don't come on automatically so you feel like you're stumbling around in the dark. LED... More

This hotel needs to be revisited by whoever awards star ratings. There is no way this hotel is four star, but regardless it is unpleasant and dated. The room we were given firstly was dirty and the toilet flush was completely broken. We were upgraded and the room was spacious, but all the fixtures and decoration is so dated that... More

We are sorry to see that inspite of all of our best efforts to satisfy you, you did not enjoy your stay in our hotel, and that you could not appreciate its surroundings , its frendly staff, and the spacious and cozy setting of our junior suite over looking the Corderie Royale and the River in which you were upgraded.... We stayed for one night in a heatwave and the aircon was wonderful (and quiet). The welcome was good and a chariot was available for our bags. The room was spacious and comfortable with good views and a tidy bathroom. Breakfast was an excellent buffet in a conservatory overlooking the river. There are lovely walks to the nearby, across lawns,... More

Situated close to the port by the canal, the Corderie Royal is a wonderful hotel in Rochefort. Very nice at evenings, and a very good breakfast. The rooms are roomy and nice and the beds and bathrooms are impecable. Aircondition in all rooms. Outside in the garden there is a swimming pool and a spa. When we arrived there was... More

Functional hotel in Rocheport. A little out of town but by the marina and good to walk or cycle from. It's not a chain hotel so is a little tired by the staff were charming, very helpful, spoke good English at reception and went out of their way to look after our bikes over night - conference room of their... Stayed here for a couple of nights while we completed on our house purchase. Lovely setting but the hotel is a little 'tired' however the staff were friendly and helpful, breakfast was good (didn't eat dinner in the restaurant) and the pool is probably a welcome addition in the summer ! Would recommend to friends

This hotel may have been a four star 30 years ago but not by todays standard. There are not hot drinks facilities in the room, no shower screen, and the décor is looking very tired. The surrounding area is very pleasant but the idea of staying in a hotel are the facilities inside the building and room and I am... More
