We enjoyed an excellent 3 nights in the Palmier sur Cour. The house itself is lovely, full of character, well equipped and with a delightful back garden. It's very well located on a calm street near the centre of the charming town of Rochefort. The hosts, Catherine and Eric, were extremely welcoming and offered very welcome recommendations on places to...

This is a wonderful place to stay. Right in the middle of Rochfort, yet a calm and tranquil oasis of peace. You could not ask for a better position, and you would not find better hosts than Catherine and Eric who did so much to make us feel welcome, and even put up with our dreadful French!! We did not...

We had such a lovely stay here for three nights. Catherine and Eric we're so friendly and the house was beautiful. They arranged parking for us and recommended a different restaurant each night. Their English is very good and we loved talking to them. Rochefort was a great little town and such a good base for visiting Ile d'Oleran, Ile...

We spent 4 very enjoyable nights at Palmier Sur Cour. Catherine and Eric are terrific hosts, providing lots of information about the area, as well as attending to our every need. They quickly felt like old friends. The accomodations and breakfast were lovely. (One comment about parking - although the place does not provide parking, it's not a problem, as...

Catherine & Eric welcome you into their house and make you feel at home. We arrived by bike (pre-planned) and they happily stored our bikes and baby trailer for us off the street. We particularly appreciated the private kitchenette (tea & coffee making facilities, fridge, microwave, hobs, sink and even a few store cupboard basics), which was great for us...

Eric and Catherine (both happy to converse in English) have recently taken over this Chambres d'Hote and are already old hands at making their guests very welcome. The Palmier sur cour is well placed near the centre of Rochefort that has several interesting places to visit without the need to go to La Rochelle with Royan and Saintes both short...

We spent 3 nights at the Palmier Sur Cour - what a gem! Helene was so welcoming and seemed genuinely pleased to see us when we arrived. She offered us a cup of coffee and proceeded to show us, with tourist maps, various places to visit and restaurants to dine in - her directions and recommendations were excellent, very reliable....

We chose Rochefort not as a destination but as a convenient base to visit the region - we were surprised to discover how much Rochefort itself has to offer. Helene's enthusiasm for her 'adopted' town and detailed knowledge of the area was infectious (she is ably supported by Jean-Pierre). When we booked, we were concerned about the lack of private...

We had a lovely stay at this B&B in Rochefort, despite the cold and rainy weather. Our hosts were wonderful and accommodating. Helene's breakfast with home-made yoghurt, jams and muesli was delicious. Jean-Pierre was so helpful with recommendations, maps, bikes to ensure we had a wonderful stay. The bed was heavenly, so comfortable - so when we ended up having...

We booked this place for 3 nights on the basis of previous trip advisor reviews, and how right they were. A wonderful building to stay in, with fantastic hosts, very helpful and accommodating. Good central location for restaurants and a wonderful breakfast too!
