Beautiful location, wonderful hosts, a very enjoyable 3 days spent here. Thank you C & J-H Bartet. Comfortable, quaint rooms; quiet location with 360* panoramic views, an old church that's been beautifully restored (ask abt the hidden bee hive and the mark of the lightning strike!) We shall not neglect to come by again... If not to stay then just to say hello to the hosts and enjoy their warm company for a while. Take care and best regards...
We wanted to find a special place to celebrate our 25 years! Ce nid d'aigle was perfect. Such a lovely place with amazing views. The rooms are lovely and very comfortable. It was very nice to chat with Chantal who made us feel very welcome and prepared some fantastic breakfasts and recommended us places to go and visit and nice restaurants in Dignes. Amazing place! 10/10 Thank you. We'll be back... for our 30s?
The owners are nice people. The location itself is magnificent. Totally recommend for the views. We missed sunset, but breakfast with a view on the valley was very nice. The rooms are tidy and comfortable. a little bit tricky to find, gps shows a wrong place, better call the owners beforehand to get directions.
We are family of three traveling around France with the train. Like others, we found this place in tripadvisor and we thought to give it a try. Chantal and Jean-Hugues are really welcoming. They offered to pick us up from the train station and showed us around Digne. The place was really fascinating, the history is remarkable and well-maintained. The room was really cozy and nicely decorated. We were really impressed. Moreover, the breakfast was really nice, we recommend to go there during the summer time so you can have breakfast outdoor and watch over the nice view of Digne. We will definitely go back there again.
We arrived for one night to Ce Nid d'Aigle, after hiking on the Refuge d'Art Trail, and came just in time to enjoy the spectacular sunset at the terrace: the scenery with blaze of colours was magnificent, and view from the hill to all directions breathtaking. We think that the location is perfect for those who prefer nature and peaceful setting, and it makes a great base for day trips around the Digne les Bains area. The town down in the valley is conveniently only a couple of kilometers apart. From there, however, it is quite a climbing uphill to this nest, so car would be advisable. The place has a very fascinating history, and it was interesting to hear about it. The hosts have made a good turn converting medieval ruins into this very charming home and b&b. On the yard there is also a church that they have skillfully restored and that is worth a visit. The interior of the house is cozy, and the room and ensuite were immaculate clean. Breakfast was served in a homely and nice dining-livingroom, and it was bounteous and such a treat: fruit, muesli, yoghurt, jams, juice, ham, cheese, bread, hot beverages, all so much to our liking. Chantal and Jean-Hugues Bartet are welcoming and cordial hosts that truly care for the guests and have created an atmosphere that feels home away from home; meeting and talking with them was such a joy. They also soon discerned our interests, and made spot-on proposals of places to visit, Chantal even wrote down guidance and printed maps for us, which we highly appreciate. We enjoyed our stay very much, and thoroughly recommend this place.…
