Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We loved our stay at this beautiful property, the owners where very friendly and helpful. The hotel is in walking distance to Le Lavandou and to St. Clair Beach. Breakfast in front of the beach. We loved it and will definitely stay there again.

This small auberge is welcoming and has a wonderful location adjacent to the ocean with free parking. Breakfast outside under the trees is a great way to start your day. Typically it consists of natural yoghurt, apple puree with fresh croissants and bread together with orange juice and hot drinks. Some actual fresh fruit would have been a great addition. The rooms are comfortable although Room 9 where we stayed was on the small side and only had a small window. The shower could be larger my husband said! Useful washing line provided for drying off wet beach towels/wet suits etc.

A beautiful place, with nice spacious rooms with sea views on St Claire Beach. The owners are very friendly and very helpful, nice breakfast on the terrace facing the ocean or under the trees. It is situated next to the St Clair beach and 10 mins walk to the port where you have all the restaurants, bars and street activities in the evening. We had a great family time. Will probably visit for our next vacation.

Its was a delight. The patrons were more than helpful and really friendly. They did want to upgrade us to a better room as it was particularly hot but we declined as we were more than happy. I thought it was good value for money, very clean and typical of the accommodation of this area as we have been staying in Lavandou for over 30 years. I would definitely come here again.

Lovely relaxing stay, hosts were very friendly and had a great sense of humour. Breakfast on the terrace was fantastic, The room was spotlessly clean but very basic, (no kettle or air-conditioning) However this will not deter us from a further stay as we were made very welcome, the hotel is in a fantastic position and the building and grounds were lovely.

Very friendly couple run this place and it does have a great location overlooking the bay yet only a few mins walk round the corner to the very lovely Plage St Clair. Sadly if I go again, I will consider the Hotel Tamaris, yes it's not so pretty outside but it is 105E, not 150E and still very close to the elegant yet family beach of St Clair. It is the south of France so I was expecting to pay but Astria even adds on a few euros for the Wi-Fi. They did upgrade us to a larger room on arrival and said it was not extra. On departure, they asked for 50 euros towards it.. Now this might be a case of poor language skills on both sides. My advice is to get them to write down their charges before booking and if they upgrade you for free - again ask them to write it down that its "free" . Also please bear in mind of the seven hotels I stayed in France - this was by far most expensive and the most uncomfortable, with no working fridge even. The décor is cheap 1980s laminates. The curtains did block out the light though. Shame really because the structure of this building so typical of 1900s hotel and it could look so lovely inside. The breakfast is ok, fresh bread & orange juice but more choice from nearby beach restaurants. I've done this review some months later as my credit card details have now changed although I don't think they would add any more charges now. But I hope its in time before you book a summer holiday there.

The hotel is uniquely situated on a low headland. The beautiful St Clair beach starts 100m in one direction. The unspoiled town centre of Le Lavandou starts 500m in the other - along a scenic cliff path if you wish. In front is a broad, uninterrupted sea view across to the Iles d'Hyeres. Breakfast (simple but good quality) is served in a lovingly-maintained, shady garden in front of the hotel. Our room was spacious, tastefully furnished, spotlessly clean and had a superb sea view. The owners, Christele and Sylvain, are most attentive and very happy to direct you to the best restaurants, etc. What more do you want? Parfait!

If there is a better location for a hotel, tell me about it, because this place is perfectly situated. There are "vue mer" from several rooms, the terrace is also just across a narrow street from the sea. Across the street is another terrace from which you can view the sea. The beach is only 200-300 metres away. The beach, Plage St. Clair, is a fantastic beach with great sand and shallows. There is a walk along the cliffs that you can take into the town of Le Lavandou. The rooms are nice, clean and modern. The hosts Sylvain and Crystele are accommodating, friendly and laid back.
