Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We've stayed here several times, from when the kids were little until now they're teens

Each time we've loved it, kids enjoy going back (even as teenagers which is quite an achievement!)... beautiful long beach, great swimming, very laid back ambience but with restaurants and bars readily available. Just all pretty chilled and lovely with helpful staff around the place.

Why only 4 stars vs. 5? Wifi costs extra and still ain't great. Not the be all and end all, but can be painful with teens in tow. The cabins are nice, easy to spend time there, but could do with a bit of freshening up at the prices they cost. Doesn't really affect the holiday that much but just stops is being as good as it can be

This is like a Holiday village, located directly by the beach. It is not a luxury resort, but we found the small cottage very charming and had a comfortable stay there. Well maintained, everything working, but nothing fancy. Onsite restaurant, bar and grocery store and take away pizza restaurant.

Having stayed here in the past, we eagerly looked forward to this visit, to what was the higher end of the Riviera Villages resorts. Sadly, a bit like those bedraggled ladies who walk round Monte Carlo with a Louis Vuitton bag, smeared lipstick, dripping mascara and poor plastic surgery, this too is past it’s prime.
Our first room, sadly, was full of ants, a broken bed and rusted appliances. We were moved to our second room was still a bit tired, though not too bad, until we returned back to find 1,000s of ants running through our kitchen and our luggage. Room number 3 had ants. Room number 4 had ants. Eventually we ended up in a room which had the ants treated but it was t great.
Away from the room, the rest of the resort was tired too. The beach had a wall of some kind of organic mess the whole length between the beach and the sea, our children didn’t want to walk through it. The bars were overly expensive, even for the south of France (think €70 for 5 soft drinks, 4 chips and a small sandwich). The children’s evening entertainment area has moved from the main area to the middle of the site… not too much of a problem but there’s no bar there so not ideal for a parents night out. The beach restaurants are fenced in so aren’t really accessible from the beach.
The only jewel left in this once beautiful crown is the children’s Tikids land, which is the most aesthetically beautiful child’s play park ever. So beautifully run and an absolute joy to behold. (Check them out on instagram). Absolutely gutted that this will be our last time visiting as the children’s area is incredible. The rest of the site, sadly is not.

Here is the motto when you spend your summer holidays in Kon Tiki "Kon Tiki be happy".
This is the reality: "Kon Tiki be happy if you stay one month and if you park your Lamborghini at the entrance near tre reception.
Otherwise, you are not welcome!
TikiHutte GT50: dilapidated, dirty, crumbs in the sofa, dirt on the walls, faulty air conditioning, faulty electric shutter in the children's room, terrace with opposite, parking space in the driveway... and when you call the receptionist she says "If you are not happy, do not come back to Kon Tiki!"
Be careful if you eat at the Rooftop of the Tik'Italy restaurant! If you want meat, it's 300 grams minimum. And if you have children you will pay a margherita pizza 34 euros (price of the pizza with truffles in the menu)!!!

Our stay was not enjoyable at all. The rooms were ok although very small and cramped. The whole resort was very packed and there was not much privacy. One day my child was playing football with his friends as the security officer was telling them to leave. As a friend of my sons did not leave fast enough for the security officer he grabbed him and started swearing and screaming at him and threatened to hit him. This is unacceptable behavior and I do not feel safe returning with my kids and I urge anyone with a family to stay away.

Do not go there!!!
Although area and beach are nice I strongly recommend to stay away from Kontiki huts. They are old, dirty, damaged - for us simply disgusting. There’s a strong smell which made us sick. The beds smells like somebody slept there for years without changing the duvet for 2 years. It a paradise for dogs (if you like to sleep in a room where dogs have been everywhere).
Sounds harsh but it is the truth. You will not feel well in kontiki.

The website shows this place to be idyllic. It's far from that. The huts are tiny and overcrowded. The hot water runs out after two people showering which is a problem when you have a family of four. The staff smoke while serving which is atrocious considering its supposed to be a family friendly atmosphere. The beach is not child friendly and having to pay for practically every extra is a joke. It's in the middle of nowhere. This place is a rip off. The staff are unhelpful and I felt like I was on a butlins getaway. Avoid like the plague. This is most certainly not the experience you think it's going to be

Dear guest, The holidays are extremely important in a year and it is essential they are proceeding well and especially as hoped. This is why everyone must choose his holiday destination according to his expectations. Having already discussed with you on site during your stay, we here only qualify your words so that everyone can make his own judgment. Kontiki is situated on the famous sandy beach of Pampelonne at 4 km from Saint Tropez. Your Hut is disposed with a gas heating system and not with a cumulus. Even if you should shower 24 hours per day there is hot water. Unlike the Club Med, Kon Tiki does not sell all inclusive stays. Nevertheless many services are free such as for example the proposed animations, the Kid’s Club for 6-12 years supervised by qualified animators, access to the baby land including its paddling pool, inflatable castle, air-conditioned playground, beach volleyball, multisport, bike park etc. On the other hand the restaurants are not for free, as well as some activities like scuba diving, the wellness centre, the fun faire…. If you have seen one of the employees smoking on the site during his working time, please forgive us. We will make sure this won’t happen again. We therefore hope to explain your very salted opinion from our side to help the internet users understand.

I went to kon tiki last year and was quite impressed BUT this year well, very different, my child was left in the corner alone at kids club because nothing was translated, the shower doors were broken rusty nails sticking out of the tiki huts. I spotted a man staring at kids on the beach indecently fiddling with his privates and I called security and they never came.
I payed 40 euros for 2 weeks wifi and it was a waste of money, did not download emails and only one device worked.
Last of all the staff shoot around in their buggies sooo fast they could knocked over!

Everybody hates to hear some lie, and you don't particularly appreciate those tricks among sales personnel. It cost bloody 90EUR just to set up your tent at this place. And seems to be kind lady at reception was trying to convince us to get this spot by telling THERE IS NO OTHER CAMPING AROUND. The closest one is 5 km from the beach. THIS IS NOT TRUE! Because just behind the corner there are 2 camping sites sharing the same beach with KonTiki. So we paid 29EUR per night for one and had almost the same experience (well, if you'd like some noise and paying ridiculous money makes you feel real good about yourself, you may choose Kon Tiki instead)
