Matt and Emma provide a very personal service in a super chalet. The chalet is well equipped and provides luxury accommodation. The drop off and collection service to and from the slops takes the aggro out of the skiing experience. If you are unsure of the best skiing then Matt or Emma are happy to show you round the Port -du- Soliu ski area, which is far to vast to ski in a week, unless you are an Olympic champion. The Hot tub is to die for after a long days skiing. The breakfast is simple but plentiful, the afternoon cakes and tea are just what you need after a hard days skiing and the meals cooked for you in the evening are cooked to a very high standard using only fresh ingredients, the wine flows through-out the meal and if Matt joins you after the meal to catch up on the days skiing events then long after too.
I would highly recommend the following;
The transfer service from the airport recommended by Matt, they are first class.
Allow Matt to organise your lift passes, it allows a seamless transition onto the slopes
But best of all the SKI HIRE to U service, they come to the accommodation with the latest equipment and a set it while you enjoy a glass of wine upstairs, if you don’t get on with the skis then they will happily change them for you. They may be slightly more expensive (5 euro) but its well worth it.
We had a marvellous skiing holiday in a wonderful area with wonderful hosts, we would highly recommend this chalet to anyone.

Regular skiers will know the downside of skiing is the walk to and from your accommodation carrying your skis and poles, well not at Chalet Le Dragon, Matt would take us all to whichever area we wanted to go to and then collect us whenever we were ready, all we had to do was text him and he was there, once back at the chalet Emma had homemade cakes and biscuits ready for us and hot drinks.

We stayed in the chalet as a group of two families having scoured the PdS for a chalet that was
1. Luxurious
2. Close to the slopes or willing to schlep us there and back on demand and, most importantly,
3. could fit us in to some very specific dates just after Christmas

Le Dragon fitted all the criteria - we were extremely well looked after both in the chalet and with the local network that Matt and Emma have established that made it all such a breeze, from excellent ski hire guys who come to the chalet to fixing up reservations in the village.

Our friends were mainly novices and a little worried about how it would all work, despite our assurances, so having this support was the difference between heaven and hell.

We loved the views up the valley towards the staggering Dents du Midi, the careful and generous but not over-fussy food (I don't go skiing to have balsamic drizzles on my plate - if I want Michelin, I can get it at home), Emma and Matt's lovely boys mucking in with our kids to play in the snow, extremely good housekeeping (apparently Cleaning Fairies do it all), and the very welcome hot tub.

One thing to be aware of is that the village is a good 10 minute walk down the hill (up on the way back, obviously) and while the Panthiaz lift into the Super Chatel sector is visible from the chalet, you might well prefer a lift to and from it rather than yomping down with your boots and skis.

In the summer, obviously, the lack of ice and snow make this a more attractive option.

As ever, we ask the critical question: Would we go back? Yes.

Many thanks for the great review. It was pleasure to meet you and your lovely family. The Panthiaz ski area (linked to Super Chatel and the Swiss sector) is a very accessible area - one benefit of the "door to ski" minibus service is that clients never have to walk up or down the hill in ski boots!! Yes, in the summer the flora and fauna is truly amazing and it is a pleasure to stroll to the village in an evening! Perhaps we will see you in the summer one day. Matt & Emma

We have just got back from a superb week at Chalet Le Dragon and I can honestly say it was the best ski holiday that we have ever had. From the first enquiry, having never been to this area of France before, Matt and Emma were really helpful and friendly. The private transfers(arranged by Matt and Emma) made an easy start and end to the holiday, as did the pre-booked ski hire and lift passes. The chalet is in a stunning location with beautiful views and the rooms are all gorgeous. The skiing was the best we have ever had, perfect conditions and being taken to each area by Matt, and picked up again at the end of the day felt like pure luxury ( no clomping up the street in ski boots and waiting for overcrowded ski buses )! meals were all lovely and just the right type of food after a hard days skiing and if you like cake then you will be in heaven! Emma makes the most delicious cakes that are waiting when you get in from the slopes. Thank you all so much.

For anyone wanting to travel to a first class chalet, in a peaceful area with a great resort service provided by the owners, then look no further.

Excellent cakes provided by Emma (more than you could eat) and a superb in resort transport service provided by Matt. Wherever we wanted to be dropped off to, or picked up from was not a problem for Matt-he even offered to drive over one hour to pick us up from Chamboussin, when lift closure nearly left us entirely stranded.

The Chalet is very comfortable, and spotlessly clean, with a lovely jacuzzi to ease those aching thighs.

Thanks for a great week.

Had a three night stopover en-route to Tuscany and Chalet le Dragon proved a great place to base ourselves to explore the area around lake Geneva. Matt and Emma were great hosts full of useful tips on places to go and explore. The Chalet itself is fabulously comfortable and a great place to relax and really doesn't want for anything. Make the time to see Aigle castle just across the border in Switzerland - a really interesting wine and vine museum, and a day in Evian which was a delight.

Can only imagine the chalet deep in fresh powder snow would be even more fantastic!

I had such a relaxing stay here.. Good location, plus the views were incredible! The tinkling of the cow bells every so often, was lovely! It really was "something special" that took my breath away!
Emma and Matt were brilliant hosts and their 3 young boys are a credit to them!Luke, Finlay and Ollie you are missed, very much! But don't worry I will be back to see how your getting on and enjoy more fun times with you all!
Emma and I did the White Water rafting on the Monday, highly recommend this!! It was brilliant! Good for all ages and abilities and the people who took us were so welcoming and friendly. Big thank you to you guys! The experience is one which you will not forget! Be prepared for the wet suits and lots of paddling. Brilliant scenery whilst coming down the river though!
The rooms were exceptionally clean. In fact the whole chalet had such an inviting and cosy atmosphere, I would imagine in Winter it would be just gorgeous. True luxury!
Thank you for such a relaxing stay!

We had a weeks holiday as 2 families , a party of 10. Matt and Emma provided a first class and very personal service which really enhanced the holiday .
All the information given about the chalet and area before we arrived was superb. All the arrangements for the transfers , ski passes and ski and boot hire were done ahead and were seamless. Def use all the companies recommended as they were excellent

Nothing was ever too much trouble , Matt took us all to the various lifts we needed each morning in the people carrier which was a great service . Often undertook several pick ups and was always ready to collect any or all of us at any time. A service you would not always get .

Matt spent our 1st morning showing 2 of the party around one of the ski areas and was always v v happy to advise all on best places.

Food was an absolute highlight for all the party! Breakfast was simple but everything one needed , fantastic cake each afternoon with tea,or vin chaude...dinner was superb . Perfect high quality cooking , great variety and all of us so looked forward to our 4 course dinner each eve.( The children still saying it was the finest bolognaise ever tasted!!)

Wine flowed , plentiful .

A very personal approach. Whist we were there it was my daughters 14th birthday and Emma had organised a gift , balloons and her favorite cake. SO kind and much appreciated .

This chalet will suit those wanting a very comfortable chalet which is run by people who really ensure you have a good hols. Ski area is ideal for all , good family skiing and the BASS ski school has excellent English and Scottish instructors .

Highly recommend to anyone and we would not hesitate in returning and hope we will .

Would also be a super base for the Summer with many activities on offer .
