Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Due to availability, we had booked a family room for one night and a classic room for two nights. First night everything was good. First morning in the classic room there was no hot water for the shower. Apparently the boiler for the classic rooms cannot keep up when the hotel is full. We declined the offer of using the shower in the spa for privacy reasons. Only after intervention from the booking site were we offered an upgrade to a room with hot water. The whole situation was unfortunate because the stay was pleasant otherwise. All three rooms were spacious, nicely appointed with good beds and modern bathrooms. Only English TV channel was Sky News. Wifi was fine for web browsing but not fast enough for video. We did not use the spa or take the breakfast. We left our skis in our vehicle which might have been a good thing as another guest had skis stolen from the ski lockers. The village shuttles stop running in April.

Has it all! Not a corporate, but run with an eye for detail, quality and genuinity. Catering for all genres who all seemed respectful, professional but eager to enjoy themselves. Great IPA, restaurant. Les Gets and this hotel has a hidden gem vibe about it. My regret is forgetting Vicky in the flowers I sent! x

An excellent stay at Chamois D’Or. Comfy room with bar and restaurant retaining a great atmosphere. Local beers on draft. Pete is a perfect host with plenty of good recommendations for food on the slopes and in Les Gets.

Fantastic place to stay in Les Gets. Peter and his team, including some very enthusiastic Ukrainian refugees, provide firs=class service in a very convenient hotel. The rooms are spacious, warm and have ample hot water (crucial for skiers.) Breakfast offers both continental and hot English style. Hotel has 'all mod cons' while maintaining French Alpine style and atmosphere. Good bar, popular with local Brits, and good ski and boot storage area. Definitely recommended.

I decided to have a break skiing in France and went to this fabulous hotel. The hotel is situated very close to the slopes and is very accessible to all the shops and bars. The accommodation is very comfortable with super en-suite bathrooms. The staff are very friendly and can’t do enough to make your stay a memorable experience. The receptionist Vicky and Valeria are very helpful and knowledgeable about what restaurants to book. The bar staff Chris, James and Amelia made you feel welcome with a nice cold beer at the end of the day, we met the owner Peter who organised a live band called squid lips, they were amazing and the bar was very busy. Thank you Peter and the staff for such an amazing time. I will definitely be coming back.

Really fun and friendly hotel on the edge of the village 5 minutes walk from he main lifts and all the bars, shops and restaurants in Les Gets. It's very English (good for us) and almost has a kind of chalet vibe, you inevitably end up chatting to all the guests and staff around the lively bar in the hotel's reception area. You can rent your skis etc. at Ski Set Marchand opposite the lifts and leave it there overnight so no need to trudge around the resort in ski boots. Nice Indian restaurant on site and decent breakfast options in the morning. The staff deserve a special mention for making it such a welcoming place to stay. James the barman is on his 6th season! Would definitely return.

This is a wonderful hotel on so many levels. From the attentive staff who make you feel so welcome and at home (Specifically Johnny and Elizabeth -thank you) to the details on the room that show they have gone above and beyond, to the beautiful decor and finishes. Our room was gorgeous and the bed and linen were exceptionally comfortable, the toiletries are luxurious and copious, and everything was spotless. They even opened the spa the next morning early for us. Nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast is as a hotel breakfast should be, an interesting spread for buffet and your choice of hot breakfast. Our experience from start to finish was exceptional, we will definitely be back. Thanks to Peter and the team. P.s. Bahji- The hotel restaurant, served some of the best Indian food we have had in a long while, highly recommend!
