I booked a late season trip to Tignes for my wife and I having never visited the resort before. I mostly booked Hotel Curling because of the availability and price and was very pleasantly surprised. The room was spacious, clean and most importantly had a bath for having a soak in after a hard days skiing. It is a basic enough 3 star hotel but the staff were most certainly 5 star and were friendly and helpful through our stay.

The hotel is pretty much ski in/out with a very short walk (150m) from the boot room to either the Tufs lift or down a ramp and through the tunnel to the Bollins lift.

Overall a great experience.

We had to move to the Curling last minute due to our booked accommodation elsewhere being sub standard. They were unbelievably helpful and made our stay very pleasant. The staff here are really outstanding and so helpful.

The location is great, easy access to the slopes and a really good locker room at ground floor level. The bar is really lovely, great gin and tonics and reasonably priced. The rooms were far better than we were expecting for a three star hotel and the beds were very comfortable and everything was spotlessly clean. Breakfast was lovely with everything we would have wanted.

They do have a slight problem with noise from surrounding bars but being in such a central location that can't really be helped.

I was so impressed and grateful to the Curling for rescuing our holiday!

4 of us stayed here for 4 nights- the location was unbelievably convenient. 30s walk from 3 different ski hire shops and ski lockers in hotel to leave equipment. It was then less than 100m to Tufs chair lift. Which you could actually get on your skis and pole to. There are lots of bars and restaurants close by to suit all ages.

Hotel room was very spacious, warm and clean with a good shower. Balcony had an amazing few of the mountains. Hotel is dated but location made up for this.

There were no glasses in the room if you wanted to drink tap water which was really odd and no kettle/fridge either.

The breakfast was extra 15 euros and was average at best. We only eat there once.

One of the receptionists was lovely and helpful but the other was really rude. Zero manners.

Overall we would defo return to the Hotel, location, convenience for skiing and views was just brilliant.

More of a hostel standard than a hotel. A group of young lads would be more than happy in it. Curtains hanging off the rail, plug in heater in the room so you know the temperature isn’t going to be sufficient, grubby toilet, no glassware whatsoever, paper cups. No kettle or coffee machine. Very noisy location but it is central so can’t blame the hotel for that. Only stayed one night between other accommodation. Friendly and helpful staff, thank you, but would not stay again.

The hotel is in a central location and a close walk to the Tufs lift.
Because of the location we were kept awake most nights by screaming and shouting from the local bars that stay open till 0200hrs. Clearly an issue as the hotel supplies ear plugs.
When raised with the hotel staff, they blamed the English. So if you are English and like shouting and screaming outside bars until the wee hours, this is the perfect hotel for you.
Rooms need updating.
Breakfast is a basic continental spread.
Evening meal in Laks bistro was ok, lacked imagination and small portions.
Ski lockers didn't seem to warm boots overnight. I did raise it with staff but the next day the boots still had ice on them. After that we dried boots in room on radiator. With -23 temperatures warm dry boots is essential.
Staff were very pleasant

Staff is great, kind and welcoming. Rooms can be ok for a 3 stars hotel, but there are quite noisy, and housekeeping needs for desperate improvement. Breakfast is somehow the same everyday, but this can be accepted. If you are going for ski, consider the fact that the hotel is far from the cablecar, so a long walk (aprox 10 minutes) with your skiboots will really dryout some of your forces...

I am a kidney dialysis patient and use a portable dialysis machine. I have just returned from one week's stay at the Hotel Curling, Tignes, France with my husband.

I would recommend the Hotal Curling to anyone. The staff were excellend, nothing was too much trouble. They will assist anyone with medical needs.

The price of the holiday was excellent value for money. We had breakfast, packed lunches, and three course evening meals with wine every day. With the holiday were two walking excursions thrown in.

Tignes is beautiful. There are every sports imaginable on offer. You can also just relax and sun bathe by the lake.

This was an excellent holiday and one that I would recommend to anyone. It was booked with Crystal Holiday, Lakes and mountains brochure.

Highly recommende and most memorable in every way.

My husband and I stayed at the Chalet Hotel Curling for a week in January 2016 when temperatures outside were around –23 degrees Celsius. The temperature indoors was obviously warmer, but not as warm as most of us would have liked or expected. This resulted in a number of guests requesting additional heaters in their rooms and sometimes wearing outdoor coats when having afternoon tea in the lounge/bar area. Having said that the staff were warm and welcoming and always ready with a smile and skiing/resort advice if requested.

The bedrooms are spacious with extremely comfortable single beds and plenty of clothes storage. Take your own hair drier if required along with shampoo, etc. as only shower gel and soap are provided. There are plenty of two pin sockets in the bedroom, but sadly no mirror which would be useful when drying hair. There is one in the bathroom, but there are no power sockets nearby. Towels are changed whenever placed in the bath and the beds are changed once a week. The bathroom included a bath with an overhead shower which had plenty of pressure and there was always plenty of hot water for a bath too, which was lovely to soak in after a hard day’s skiing. Our room had a nice view of the ski slopes and pedestrian walkway to the nearest ski lift which was very close by. The only disadvantage of this was the proximity to the local bars and night clubs which resulted in being woken up several times during the night and early morning due to revellers coming and going at all times. The chalet/hotel also has its own bar underneath the accommodation which according to Inghams is well insulated. In reality this is not the case as when there was a live DJ the music could be heard on all floors, including the fifth floor (the highest) until around 1.30 am, which was quite surprising and annoying. Although ear plugs were provided at reception they should not really be required if Inghams ensures that the music volume is kept to a reasonable level (this bar is run under their control). After all, which is more important, the comfort of the chalet guests or that of bar users who may or may not be Inghams’ clients?

The food provided was varied and plentiful with a hot and cold buffet choice for breakfast, extensive and tasty afternoon tea with tea, coffee and hot chocolate provided all day, and numerous courses for dinner accompanied by as much wine as requested during the meal. Tea or coffee was also served afterwards if required. Although there were a couple of niggles regarding vegetables sometimes being undercooked and the overall temperature of the meals once or twice being not quite hot enough, the meals were of a good quality and little was generally left on the plates at the end of the meal. The staff serving the meals were also attentive and did their best in spite of the cramped conditions in the dining room.

It was very easy to walk or ski to the nearest ski lifts from the chalet and experience the whole of the ski area. There were ample ski runs to appeal to all skiing abilities including the possibility of bungee skiing in Le Lac (or maybe just stop and take photos of those brave enough to take the challenge!) Skiing back to the accommodation later was once again straight forward and being able to overnight ski boots on individual heaters downstairs in the ski room was a luxury and much appreciated. There was also a free bus which stopped just a short walk away which ran every few minutes during the day and apparently every half an hour during the evening. It did a circuit from Val Claret to Le Lac (where there was normally ice skating, bowling and swimming available) and onto Le Lavachet. This was very useful for just visiting the other nearby areas and also as an alternative to skiing back to resort.

Members of the chalet staff were young and obviously keen skiers who worked hard and finished their duties, including making beds and cleaning bathrooms, as soon as possible so as to be able to ski themselves in the afternoon. They were always ready to help with any questions and share their experiences of skiing in the area. They were probably the most helpful and friendly team we have encountered in a catered chalet and although there were too many to mention individually (plus we didn’t know all their names), Victoria, Max, Jack and Joe did stand out with nothing being too much trouble. Laura, the local Inghams rep was also friendly and approachable and visited most days.

I would recommend staying here provided everyone is aware of the possibility of sleep disruption due to outside noise and sometimes from the downstairs bar itself. Apparently some of the rooms which face away from the ski slopes were generally quieter than those with views towards the ski runs. Also, just be aware if taking heavy and bulky luggage that on departure day the transfer coaches are not allowed to stop outside the hotel and therefore a reasonable uphill walk carrying or wheeling luggage through snow and ice and up steps to the coach park is necessary. In addition, when arriving at the departing airport, we had to enter the compartment underneath the coach and reach our own luggage which involved lifting other luggage from on top before we could retrieve our own. Health and safety?

Thank you for taking the time to write a review of your experience in the Inghams Chalet Hotel Le Curling, Littlegeegee, where it's great to hear that, overall, you had a good holiday and were well looked after by the team. We do mention both the residents-only and public bar within our description, though note that you do not agree that the latter is well-insulated and regret that you experienced some degree of disturbance in your room. We will monitor this going forward and make any changes deemed necessary.

We had a brilliant time staying at this Inghams hotel .... the hotel staff all work very hard and try to make your stay perfect - nothing was too much trouble . The rooms are basic but very clean - the downside is the noise ... it is continous from 11 pm til about 5am with noise from the bars and roudy people ... not so good if you are a light sleeper ... take ear plugs!. Food at the hotel was very good although could have been a little warmer ... cooked and continental breakfast, free tea coffee and fruit all day, afternoon tea (consisting of soup, bread, savoury pastries, cake and hot drinks), evening meal ... aperitif with canopies, free unlimited amounts of wine (red, rose or white) and juice, starter, main, pudding, cheese and biscuits finished with coffee and chocolates. At dinner each night you are placed on different tables so you can get to know people, which we thought was a nice idea. Most evenings there was a short quiz after dinner in the bar. Bar prices were reasonable and were able to buy a card to save money on multiple drinks. The hotel is perfectly situated close to the slopes and you can pretty much ski straight back to the hotel. There is a free shuttle service in resort which links to other ski places such as Le Lac. You can get to val d'isere too by bus for about 6 euros each way. Inghams need to sort the departure arrangements out better as on leaving as we had to lug our cases up a snowy hill and steps and then stand around for 15 minutes freezing waiting for the coach not a good end to the holiday.

No rooms didn’t have hair driers on the 4th and 5th floors. There is a swimming pool in Tignes Le lac which is free and it has a wellness suite. I think there were also other hotels where you could pay to use facilities..
