What a fantastic week we all had .
We were a party of 3 . We shared a bedroom, 3 single beds with separate bathroom and toilet so it worked well for us and views from the balcony onto the slopes , beautiful !!
The Ski Lifts were about a 2 minute walk from the hotel . If you higher your skis etc Ski Set is about a 5 minute walk from the hotel .
Like others, I read a number of negative reviews prior to coming to this hotel which made me a little concerned. If you have come to ski , it is fantastic!
People have criticised the cleaning and the carpets etc . The staff are very young and here to ski in their part time but they are so enthusiastic and helpful. The hotel was warm and cosy .
The boot room was absolutely fine .
For the cost of the stay this was amazing value , we got fantastic meals in the evening with as much wine as you wanted free, breakfast in the morning which was okay, and when you came back off the slopes you got soup and cake which was generally fantastic.
If you are not able-bodied than the walk from where the bus drops you have to taking you from the airport is probably a 400 meter uphill walk so it’s challenging but the staff are there to help carry your bags.
You are so close to the ski slopes if you’re here to ski this is a fantastic location. If you want perfect carpets and pristine marble floors etc then pay four times the amount for your holiday !!!!
The hotel is not the Savoy, but the one thing the manager does when you arrive is he gets you all to get together and promises you that anything you want anything that goes wrong he will sort it, I’ve never experienced that before at a hotel.
We had the most fantastic week and would definitely stay again

I’ve been skiing for 30 years. Never stayed in Tignes (stayed in Val disere 3 times), never been with Mark Warner. I travelled with my son as part of a group of six adults. Reading the reviews prior to travelling I did have some concerns and slight apprehension. However all the negative comments about “how fantastic” MW used to be are totally irrelevant whilst offering a true picture of the holiday customers have actually been on. Surely that’s the purpose of trip advisor, not to whinge that MW used to have 500 staff per hotel, carry your bags, change towels 10 times a day or generally wipe your backside.

Our room was absolutely fine for two people, plenty of room, plenty of hot water, of course at very peak times the water isn’t boiling but still perfectly adequate for a shower- Not Cold.

The staff are young, very friendly, polite and work very well as a team. These guys are Not 30yrs experienced hotel staff, trained at The Ritz, but neither are the holiday prices.

The food is slightly inconsistent, not in quality, just in portion size. The breakfasts have everything 99.9% of reasonable people would wish for breakfast prior to a day on the slopes. Evening meals were a mixture of carvery or a la carte. The carvery nights were always fantastic and plentiful. The a la carte evenings could leave those with healthy appetites a little hungry, but a polite request to staff and extra veg is served with no fuss.

Location is fantastic, 100 m to the slopes ( perhaps this is too far for the dinosaur MW customers). The hotel is very relaxed, just right for those requiring time away from pressures of life and work. Afternoon tea (soup and cake) were truly delicious, and tea & coffee on tap all day.

There are comments about a sewage smell in the hotel, this is very minor and is only around the lift area. Didn’t cause me or any of our party any issues. The boot room is slightly cramped, but again no issue ( it could however do with some additional lighting).

All in all a great relaxing stay in perfectly adequate comfortable room, beds and pillows fine. I’ve had a laugh about the previous review about the fire not being lit. Is a blast furnace 🌞🌞not hot enough for you. The hotel is already scorching hot.

I feel it is highly inappropriate and misleading to rate or score any establishment 1 Mark due to: carrying your own bags to the hotel, it’s a skiing holiday not a five star luxury hotel; poor boot room; no fire lit in an already scorching hotel etc. I can appreciate reviewers not scoring excellent for reasons they have listed about food and room size, but in no way is this “avoid” Granted It is not Gleneagles but neither are the prices.

Wayne - please pass on my total satisfaction and gratitude to your staff, they are superb. Thanks for a great holiday, I will certainly use Mark Warner again.

We are currently staying in this hotel and have noted a few things down before I leave on Sunday and forget.

Overall the food has let this hotel down. If you are looking for a hotel that has good food then I would suggest you go elsewhere. If the food issue can be resolved, it would be a pleasant functional holiday with kids / toddlers.

Pros:
Location is really good especially if you have kids as it’s so close to the park, sledging, maze and baby slopes. It’s also really close to restaurants and the piste. It’s not ski in ski out but is like a 3 min walk down the hill to the slopes.

If you have kids then I can’t fault the Kids club and staff, my kids loved it and was asking to go back and they do so much with them. On the few occasions we were nearby whilst skiing we saw our kids out in the park playing.

The Hotel clean is generally clean.

Cons:
The transfer bus only takes you to the bus station, the hotel is about 100m up a a slight incline. If you have lots of luggage and kids it’s slightly hard work.

The food is disappointing and in some cases inedible.

Breakfast is cold and has been everyday and we are the first in. The scrambled egg tastes as if it’s a powdered mix, the baked beans are cold, the boiled eggs have been done the night before and are stone cold. All such easy things to fix and at no cost and they just haven’t mastered. A really shame!

The evening meal is hit and miss. I have never ever sent anything back but some of the food has been inedible, e.g. the teriyaki salmon! Was really fishy, not fresh (defrosted) and overcooked with a disgusting sauce.

The wine at dinner is questionable and mainly disappointing considering we are in France. Tasted cheap. You get no choice, just red white or rose.

The cake in the afternoons was not fresh and most of the time still frozen in the middle having just come form the freezer. Lack variety as had the same cake 2 days running.

Kids high tea lacks variety, same thing everyday; chips, nuggets, fish fingers, carrots / broccoli and a pasta dish. They have more choice / variety for they kids club lunch!

Hotel general up keep is lacking and looking tired.
Hotel is functional and in some cases isn’t. Our room, 101 for example the door separating us from our kids does not close due to the bunk beds being in the way. Reason for getting this size room was we could do just that and not sit in the dark or silence whilst they slept.

When speaking to the customer manager, upon us complaining and saying it seems to be a common theme and looking at the comments on Trip adviser, he confirmed he’s never looked at the comments from trip adviser, never said how he will resolve the cold breakfast and invited us to a quiz!!!

The staff are ok but I think are blinded why ours and other guests comments. They do not believe there is a issue with the food and apparently we are the first to complain…when we know full well others we have spoken to have also complained!!! Something not right there…!!!

The swimming pool (a tiny box) was cold and kids did not enjoy it.

Where to start?

We got in very late on the Sunday because we had to stop in a train station to pick up a member of Mark Warner's staff which resulted in a race to the shop to get our ski hire. We had 30mins to do so if we wanted to sit through the welcome brief.

Unfortunately the hotel doesn't feel very welcoming. The bar area was and remained dirty throughout our stay. Some sofas were also broken and cushions unsewn. But the first impression came unfortunately from the horrendous sewage smell that is present in the hotel and unfortunately in our room.

Our first breakfast didn't impress either. 8am is a late start when lessons start at 9. But, to top it all, there wasn't a day that the food came out on time. Most mornings we had to wait until 8.15am and believe me the extra 15mins where not used to make sure the food was of high standard. Sausages and bacon were floppy and eggs unappetising. Dinner was better but still could be improved.

Our room was spacious with a beautiful view of the lac, the location of the hotel is ideal that is undeniable. However, another negative was the cleanliness of the place. Apparently, according to the assistant manager, the rooms are vacuumed on the day of arrival and that's it (not great when you are staying a full week). I am not sure mine had been vacuumed at all. It was dirty when we arrived and the floors of the bathroom and toilet were covered in long blond hairs (I am a brunette). My husband's bed sheet was also dirty.

I have had a good week skiing as Tignes is a lovely place but I am sure of one thing I will NEVER go back to this hotel.

I have travelled with Mark Warner for the past 15 years, both sun and ski holidays.
Never have I been so disappointed with their service and attitude.
Our problems started on arrival at the hotel where guests are expected to lug cases and skis up a road to the hotel (no mention of this in the brochure) - Mark Warner resorts have always transported bags to your room.
Showers are cold if you want to use them at peak times. Mainly due to a boiler that is not big enough to service the extra rooms the hotel has installed.
The fire in the lounge doesn’t get lit apparently because the builders built a room on top of it!! Or because it’s been condemned depending on which story you believe.
The food is inconsistent, sometimes good, sometimes cold, sometimes too much salt or pepper added.
Tables on a morning are not cleared leaving somewhere clean to sit, we cleaned our own table.
Apparently MW have cut staff from 45 to 30 due to french laws, hence the customer service issues.... shame they didn’t cut their prices by the same amount.
Reviews on their website are responded to with a bad attitude.
It would seem MW have a growth strategy which fails to recognise the importance of valuing your existing customers. The trouble is people buy based on recommendations and there are many other companies offering a better service - we won’t return to them.

I travelled as part of a group of 9. Things started well with a decent transfer and bags allocated to our room on the coach. However, when we arrived in Tignes the coach could not go to the hotel and we had to take our luggage uphill to the hotel. A van to transport the luggage would have made all the difference.

The boot room is a disaster. Too small, poorly lit and a boot warming system that did not work. The door out of the boot room failed one day. You could get in but couldn't get out.

The hotel itself needs some money spending on it. Carpets are worn, settee cushions in the bar are split.

Breakfast was pretty average. Little choice and no variation throughout the week. Evening meals were a bit better. A lot better on a couple of nights. But overall standards varied greatly from day to day.

Cleaning was cursory. One of the towels in our room was dirty and used when we arrived. Pillow cases were stained. I'm pretty sure no vacuuming of carpets was done.

The hotel seems to be run for the convenience of the staff rather than for the benefit of the guests

All in all very disappointing. This is first and last time we shall travel with Mark Warner

Second time with Mark Warner and it will probably be the last.
Mornings were a rush as breakfast did not start untill 08:00 and even then not everything was ready. I have been skiing for 20 years with various operators and never had breakfast start as late as this.
Trying to get kids to ski school by 09:00 required rigid military precision which did not make for a relaxed start to the day. The manager seemed unable to comprehend that this was not a pleasant way to start the day whilst on holiday.
Breakfast choice was limited, continental breakfast to me implies a choice of cold meats and cheeses but there were none, the cooked breakfast was also uninspiring with grey "plastic" sausages or soggy bacon.
Evening meals were reasonably good quality, but could be a little warmer.
Room was OK. A faint whiff of sewer pervades the lift and bar areas.
The hotel in general is far too hot, with the exception of the boot warmers which were not working effectively resulting in cold wet boots in the morning.
Mark Warner seem to be cutting costs hard resulting in a drop in quality.

We had a large group that booked from London. To say our expectations were exceeded would be an understatement. From the airport pick up to the drop off a week later, we were totally taken care of and only had to worry about when we wanted to walk the 100-meters to the lift. The location is perfect, with several lifts literally right out the door, and many bars, restaurants, and shops nearby. The meals were good, and the free wine was even okay. Best of all was the personal service and care that the staff provided. It’s easy to see they are caring and attentive, and enjoy their jobs. Stand outs for service were the general manager Wayne, the restaurant manager Fox, the Spa director Helen, and last but not least Saskia.
We will definitely be back!

We had a great week staying at the Aiguille Percee. A family of 5 fit perfectly in the clean, fit for purpose room we booked. Wayne and his team looked after us with our youngest injured on day1. childcare options were good and available even though not booked in advance. Location is fantastic to hit the slopes quickly. Boot room access should have been cleared of ice really and boot room boot warmers were not working.
Food was good and adequate. Hotel was nearly too hot and had to sleep with window open but had a cosy atmosphere in the evening.
Overall Wayne and staff were very friendly, helpful and welcoming. We felt we got good value for money and would recommend the hotel and definitely the resort. The skiing in Tignes was brilliant.

I must highlight how wonderful the staff were! They really made the hotel! Also the location is fantastic with a boot room underneath. However, the hotel was too hot, as were the bedrooms. It was on a noisy street, where the snow ploughing began around 4/5am every morning. We had to buy ear plugs and eye masks as we had to leave our window open all day and night. Our toilet was tiny, and the door had a dent in it from hitting it when you opened or closed it from hitting the toilet. We had to stand ontop of the toilet to close and open the door when we wanted to use it. Our shower room was also very small and compact, and our shower leeked onto the floor. The towels were not good quality, and very small. It was difficult to get clean towels given. Some days we received 1 clean towel for two people…We also did not receive toilet paper and had to take it from the main bathroom of the hotel on occasions. It was very disarming how there was no safe in the bedrooms, and so we had to leave our belongings with reception which was a big inconvenience. The breakfast was good, with fresh bread, hams ,cheese and mini pastries. Good coffee and nice juices also. The scrambled eggs were hit and miss, and so we did not eat dinner in the hotel. The bar area is cosy with nice wines, cocktails and beers. It would have been nice if you could have a snack here, say a cheese board or some crisps. The spa is terrible with a cold pool, no working shower, and small sauna and steam room. The area itself was freezing cold and so we only went on one occasion for about five minutes.

Dear Sir, We thank you for taking time to write this review and we regret that our three stars hotel was not up to the level of your expectations. We take due note of your remarks, but we are quite surprised with some comments. Our outside temperature’s spa is always at 30°C, the swimming pool is heated at 28°C, like every swimming pool in hotels. The sauna is around 90°C and the hammam 40°C, which isn't cold. Our technician is checking on these temperatures twice a day. The room is above a street which is going in one way for the confort of the hotels all around. When the snow ploughing is starting early it means that our customers will enjoy of a fantastic fresh snow day ! We are deeply sorry about the room which was not up to your expectation. It is frustrated for us to heard about this when your leaving because our establisment is composed of differents room dispositions and views. It would have been a pleasure for us to help you and change of it if needed. Concerning the supply of towels, our housekeeping team is present from 8am til 16pm to to provide you with the comfort you need. Regarding the safe box deposit in your room, indeed it is a subject we are talking about for the next year. The room directory in every room tells that the reception provide this service if needed. About the bar, since the beginning of the year, we are happy to propose some local sausage and paté. We would be you pleased to host again under better circumstances and hopefully change your mind. Respectfully,

You could ask for Douglas Favre - his English is great and he's the son of the guy that owns Evolution 2, the blue jacket coloured ski school. We had him for private tuition though. Otherwise that ski school seemed good to us for English. Hope that helps!
