Despite our conversation with the landlady, and the blackboard outside telling us they were open Sat and Sun, they weren't. A sunny evening, lovely for a drink out in an attractive looking pub garden but no! Another village pub will close.... we tried...

Dear Reviewer We are sorry that you were disappointed but we had Posters outside on advertising boards alerting the Public that the Hotel was Closed Tonight, we had no Guests Booked in for the Sunday or Monday as it was closed for a Private Party. It was a surprise Party for my Wife so she could not inform you about us being Closed. You erroneously concluded that another Village Pub will close ?! but I can assure you this One is Def Not.. The Hotel was and did open on the Saturday and served a very BUSY SATURDAY BARBECUE and Drinks until late into the evening. Maxx

Booked a couple of nights at last minute and so glad we chose The Inn at Kingsbarns. Ideally situated for pottering around the East Neuk / St Andrews etc. Room was spacious, beautifully decorated, spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Bathroom was a delight. Lovely touch of fresh milk and bottles of water in room fridge. Enjoyed the barbecue on Sunday though would have been nice to get chips or wedges as accompaniement. Thoroughly enjoyed the home made cakes left over from the afternoon tea. Unfortunately evening meal is not available during week due to staffing issues .... maybe next time? Breakfast was lovely, lots of choice, very tasty and freshly cooked. Great to come back after a day out and sit in garden at front enjoying a drink or two in the sun. Annette, Maxx and all staff very friendly. Everything seemed very Covid safe. A gem of a place- book your stay 😀

Dear Revieweee Many Moons of thanks for a Wonderful Review of our WEe Countryside Hotel. Yes indeed we are ideally located to explore the delights of the East Neuk of Fife, with St Andrews, Crail, Anstruther and Elie all on our Dorstep with Great Beach walks and Cambo Estate for Dog walking. Delighted that our Breakfast and Rooms were enjoyed and sadly no Chips but as you know we are very limited with Staffing problemos, so sorry about that. We hope to have enough Staff ( all retired ) to help us reopen the Restaurant soon but again it may well be Food Du Jour on offer. We hope you travel back this way again soon.. Maxx

Oh Dear I am finding it hard to respond to your short but nippy comments. Annette and I worked long hours with full staff before Covid 19 hit all Hospitality Business like a Tsunami and with the furlough making our staff almost unavailable for months at a time we closed longer than we ever expected to do to short staffing. We have two staff now instead of 5 that we had before Covid 19 came along and hit us like a runaway train but we did re-open and have tried hard to cover all bases but unfortunately we do not open during week days for drinks or food. We are however a Hotel with Guests and they are of course entitled to have drinks and food served to them inside or indeed outside all day. As a passing though you maybe should call in advance to any establishment when you plan to visit them after a long walk.. Maxx

Just spent 2 nights here with the hubby. We were greeted by Annette who took our temps and showed us to our room. Spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Bed was fabulous and we got extra pillows no bother. Dinner on the first night was fabulous as was breakfast. Annette, Max, Craig and the breakfast waitress were all great and made our holiday. Easy to drive to St Andrews, Anstruther, Crail, St Monans, Pittenweem and Elie. Kingsbarns is very quiet but has a great beach and the wonderful Cheesy Toast Shack. Had a great few days and thank everyone for their hospitality. Highlight of the holiday was wee Harris the golden retriever pup. Could have brought him home with me.

Lovely Inn, Annette and her staff made us feel safe and very welcome, room was excellent, food was great and there's a nice walk down to the beach to work up an appetite. Even with the Covid restrictions I think they handled it perfectly, very clean and we never felt unsafe, with staggered sittings for food so never overcrowded. Breakfast was fabulous and very filling. Bar had plenty of whiskies and gins and a good atmosphere. Lovely place to stay to get the best of the area, particularly St.Andrews and Anstruther which are both beautiful and perfectly accessible from Kingsbarns.........You couldn't ask for a better place to stay in Fife and we can't wait to get back for a longer stay.
