We enjoyed a great night at the Inn. Warm welcome on arrival and showed to our room by the resident doggo (who was a delight). Our room was in the annex and it was fabulous. Spacious and well furnished. The bed was comfortable and the bed linen and towels were top quality. Nice toiletries and small touches like water in the fridge and proper milk for tea and coffee….and biscuits. Enjoyed a walk to the nearby beach and then in the evening our daughter joined us for a lovely supper. Food was great and the service outstanding. Early night and a peaceful sleep. The breakfast was outstanding. Freshly cooked and again great friendly service. Great freshly brewed bean coffee as a bonus. We visit St Andrews regularly and the Inn was a real find and we will be be back soon. PS great pint of Tenants in draught too. 10/10

Property's Favourite Review
The Inn exceeded our expectations. I am so glad we chose it. Annette, Max and Harris, the sweet pup, were very welcoming. We stayed 2 nights and had a family room for 4. It was a good size with 2 twins, a double (maybe a queen), a loveseat, desk and coffee and tea (plus water, milk and cookies). The luxury linens were so soft and beds were cozy. I slept well. Our room was very clean and nicely decorated. Outside our door was small courtyard/patio area that led to the front of the hotel. That was our view through a large window (with blackout curtains). The bathroom was spacious and clean with nice toiletries and great shower pressure.
We loved the coziness of the Inn with tartan sofas and a stone fireplace in the sitting room. Breakfast (included) was hearty and delicious.

There is a very small pub and a lot of nice outdoor seating for drinks. The Inn was only serving its guests dinner while we were there and it was only one dish. We had other dinner plans in St. Andrews so we didn’t get to sample the dinner.

The Inn is located in a very small village, so you want to have a car if possible. Surrounding it are many homes, a church and a great playground. Beyond that, in Kingsbarns, there is a distillery, Cambo Gardens and the reknowned Kingsbarns Golf Course which my husband enjoyed. I walked to the beach and the Toasty Cheese Shack (a delicious food truck on the beach serving sandwiches, hot dogs, burgers) and it was a nice easy 15-20 minute walk. Great views once you see the ocean. Since it was chilly, we didn’t hang out at the beach.

The Inn is a 15-20 minute drive to many of the seaside villages of Fife. We stopped briefly in a few (including grabbing a sandwich from the Elie Deli) and regretted not having more time to visit longer.

Getting to St. Andrews was an easy and beautiful 15-20 minute drive. You pass farms and the Castle Course (which is very near and has a restaurant FYI). There is a bus stop across from the Inn as well. We tried to take it, but the credit card reader didn’t work and the testy bus driver told my well behaved 8 year olds and I to “get off” before I could try another card.

Luckily I was able to wave down a cab quickly for $18. I wouldn’t count on a cab passing by, but you can call one. No Ubers. The driver couldn’t have been nicer.

If you are looking for a truly lovely, cozy place to enjoy the East Neuk of Fife and St. Andrews away from the hustle and bustle, I highly recommend the Inn. I wished we had a few more days to stay and enjoy the area.

Just spent 2 nights at this lovely place. Made welcome the moment we walked in. We had our Scottie dog with us and he received the same. The hosts and staff are excellent and very attentive. Our trip was all about following the Scotties by the sea trail and we couldn't have picked a better location. Its close to St Andrews in a beautiful little village called Kingsbarns. We also had dinner both nights and the home cooking was beautiful. Thank you so much and good luck Maxx and Annette for your future. Derek and Ailsa.

A very enjoyable stay at a comfortable, welcoming country inn. The accommodation is very good, comfy beds, great shower, everything you would want provided, a home from home. Food and beer excellent, special mention to Annette the chef and hostess. A busy place, hope this continues in a time when a lot of hospitality is struggling. We will return I hope!

This is a delightful Inn with excellent accommodation. The rooms are very comfortable with good beds and a seating area to relax. Hosts are warm and welcoming. Food is first class, breakfast is cooked to order and one of the best. Evening meals offer a good choice and are all a delight, deserts are sumptuous. I would definately return.

Came in to meet with friends staying there. However, met with most unpleasant bar man whose attitude was discourteous, rude and abrupt. The reaction from the Inns dog was much more welcoming. He should look to the mutt for example. If i hadnt ordered a Guinness and was there to meet with friends, I would have left immediately. There was no one in the bar, nor any queue to be served yet his attitude towards an 8 year old child and the parking of a car was completely unnecessary and made one want to leave as soon as possible. Not a welcoming place.

Horrible treatment from the staff. We stopped by for a drink after being for a walk with our dog. We hadn’t ordered yet and our dog became surprisingly unwell. We obviously would not have gone in if he had been unwell the whole day. We tried to clean the floor but the member of staff kept rudely talking about the mess we had made and shouting at us to get out. We were going to leave anyway but wanted to clean up before we did. If you advertise as dog friendly you have to accept that sometimes these things may happen and to treat us so horribly when we were only trying to apologise and clean up is appalling. Would never recommend this place to anyone.

We ate in the restaurant twice as was impressed with quality home cooking. Fish pie was amazing. As was sticky toffee pudding. Good value for money and a nice selection of dishes. It’s a small space so would recommend to book a table. Staff are very friendly which is always nice. It’s the only eating place in Kingsbarns so if you’re staying locally or en route make a stop there as it’s well worth the visit.

We stayed three nights at Kingsbarns and it was a great base from where to enjoy this beautiful part of Scotland. The Inn has spacious and spotless bedrooms with excellent quality beds and bedding. The fridge with fresh milk was much appreciated especially as we were travelling with our dog so could keep her food nice and cool. Breakfast and evening meals were outstanding and served in a lovely small dining area. The quality of the home cooking was a highlight of our stay and all served by friendly staff. Annette and her team work very hard indeed and they certainly merit all the recent glowing reviews.
