One of the best carvery meals I have had for a long time. Very reasonably priced at £14.50. Beautifully tender meat. Lovely homecooked veg. Great friendly service. All in a nicely refurbished restaurant. Highly recommended. Ideal central Westhill location.

Booked wet room facility's excellent but access very difficult 8doors including room door impossible if you were on your own. So a trip to the attached bar we had to negotiate at total of 28 doors there and back. we also met room cleaning staff in morning with there trolleys no problem to staff they were very accommodating. but slowed them down doing their work.Doors need to be electrcally operated or room moved to front of hotel.

This was my third stay at west hill, it was a perfect location for visiting friends and family. It was easy to book, when checking in staff were welcoming, polite and courteous, room was clean, beds, duvets and pillows were very comfortable, bathroom was spacious hot water for a bath or shower clean fluffy towels. Tea & coffee making facilities. Cleaning staff also welcoming, courteous and polite.
And affordable, what’s not to like

Stayed in a family room. Room was fine but there was no cold water in shower ! Told reception, waited 50 mins an engineer was sent to our room. He spent over 30 mins & said there was a fault which could be fixed today. So we called reception & were moved to another room the second night ! We were told they moved us only due to a room cancellation. To our surprise the room they moved us to (next door) had the same issue! Only boiling water in bathroom! So following morning told reception again only to be told the manager wasn’t available, and there were no other rooms they could transfer us to as the hotel was fully booked . So, again, had the engineer in our room . And the problem could not be fixed!
The reception team told us that the manager had not arrived yet & would be here after we vacate the room so we were told to contact the customer service department for any compensation after our stay was over. I did exactly that & the reply I received (after many emails) after over 5 weeks;

“Firstly, thank you so much for taking the time to get in touch to share the experience of your stay at our Aberdeen (Westhill) hotel. We’re so sorry to hear your experience fell short of your expectations on this occasion.

“I am sorry to hear that there was no cold water flowing through tap in your room during stay and for this matter i offer you my sincerest apology. I can understand how frustrating this would be for you, however, once you had informed our reception team they actioned it straight away by sending the maintenance team and it was not getting fixed they got engineer to fix it and as the room was under maintenance work, our reception team transferred you to new room and so we are unable to process any refund for your booking.

Please be assured that your feedback is very valuable to us and has been shared with the hotel management team so you can rest easy knowing we’ll be using it to help us to improve”

Thanks again for taking the time out to give us feedback.

Absolutely shocking! I had 2 children with me & moving to another room late night was not easy & not forgetting the fact we couldn’t shower due to no cold water!

While the room is the same style as most Premier Inns, the quality was poor and tired. The bathroom fan runs all night on low and never goes off. The smoke detector flashes a white light every minute or so and is bright enough to light up the bed once your eyes are accustomed to the dark.

The floorboards above are extremely squeaky and when two massive lumps are walking around from 10pm until 2am it gets on your nerves. And when they eventually lumber into bed they have to get up 3 - 4 times a night and insist on flushing the toilet each time. Considering there is no sound insulation between floors it sounds like Niagra just entered the room ... then of course the waddle to the bed on squeaky floors again ... maybe just drop the phone for the tenth time too, just for good measure!

The food in the attached pub / restaurant is pretty good and service was excellent. Such a shame the attached hotel needs a load of money spent on it. And saying Wi-Fi is free and then demanding that you give a bunch of info for marketing is a bit of a joke. Wi-Fi isn't free if you need to give up so much info. Email address and name fine, but this was taking the pi ....

I think this is now the 3rd time in the past 12 months or so that I've stayed at Premier Inn Westhill. I had a room on the 2nd floor which was really for a family as it was spacious and had a sofa bed, but I enjoyed the fact it was largely quiet and I was able to have 3 quality sleeps which I very much needed after a busy time at home and work. All the reception staff here are exemplary. Every one of them is super friendly and if I've ever needed to borrow something, it's never been any trouble. Location is excellent as it's minutes off the Aberdeen Western Peripheral Route (A90) which is a largely empty dual carriageway that whisks you all the way up from Stonehaven to Balmedie on the coast. From here, I was an hour or so away from Clashindarroch Forest which I took hours to walk round, further north is Haddo House and Gardens which still looked fantastic in early autumn. Still so much to see and do so I will plan a return trip early next Spring 2023 and will return to Westhill for another quality stay.

I stayed here for 2 nights in April 2022 on business. The hotel itself is absolutely fine, rooms spotlessly clean and everything worked.

The ‘Premier Inn’ breakfast at £9.50 served at the pub next door and was of very poor quality and very unorganised. It didn’t live up to the Premier Inn standard and was very disappointing. The staff even recommend their own breakfast over the Premier sim breakfast as theirs is cooked to order rather then kept warm and use different ingredients.

The pub itself is great for dinner (off their own menu) although vegetarian and vegan options are extremely limited.

Overall the hotel is well situated in Westhill with a Tesco, McDonald’s, Starbucks etc all within walking distance.

I like Premier Inn hotels. Rooms are standard throughout the brand clean comfortable and suitably equipped. However the quality of the rooms are dependent on the the main building construction.
The West Hill Premier inn Aberdeen did not provide the quality nights rest I am used to for Premier Inn. During my stay 90% of the guests are construction workers getting up at 0600 to get breakfast at 0630 then off to work.
The floors are so thin that in the morning you are treated to a performance of river dance, from the occupants of the room above,to drag you from your sleep.
Also if they are to put rooms near to staff only areas they should prevent staff from smoking at these points. I was unable to open the window as staff used this area to smoke outside the room and the smoke smell would enter the room. There is a sign that says no smoking but as usual what smoker ever pays attention to employer rules about smoking.
Another issue with this rooms location is, all delivers and collections are next to the room.
So personally I would never stay here again or recommend it. I was just grateful it wasn’t me paying for the stay.
Staff were,as always, very friendly and the breakfast in the pub next door was very nice. I’m just too tired to appreciate the positive points.

Stayed here during a wee tour around the Scottish coast. Originally we were given a room on the ground floor (right next to the car park) but staff were happy to move us when I asked. Our room was on the first floor and although I initially found it a little basic I had one of the best sleeps I’ve ever had in a hotel room. Room was very quiet and the beds were incredibly comfortable. We ate twice in the Shepherds Rest next door which offered good food and a nice ambience. All in all a great stay at a fantastic price.

Staff great, price great, premier inns in general I enjoy, this one was difficult though as just to warm.
Room was 24 degrees, temperature dial on wall just doesn’t work, set to 16 degrees but it just stayed at 24 for the whole day so I assume they are controlled centrally.
Shower would not go any colder than a normal hot shower, cold dial was turned as far as it would go but made no difference.
To give you an example when closing the bathroom door the bathroom was completely full of steam within 5 minutes so made it impossible to actually get in the shower so was forced to clean myself in the tiny sink which thankfully did have a working cold tap ( hardly ideal )
I did inform reception of this when I went looking for a room fan and they did offer another room but since I was staying only for a night it was to much upheaval to change room.
Premier inn MUST make rooms independently controlled when it comes to cooling the room, trying to sleep in 24 degree heat is not acceptable in this day and age.
Staff where first class though
