Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We took our Mum to the White Horse Inn for her birthday meal and it was a great choice. We were given 2 tables in a private area and was immediately greeted by the smiling, charming landlady. Drinks ordered, which came in minutes, food ordered which also arrived quickly. The food was amazing the portions huge. My aunts half rack of ribs were the biggest i have seen, like a portion from the Flintstones. Me and my wifes sizzling fajitas were lovely, freshly cooked, spiced large tender chunks of chicken with warm tortillas. The deserts were amazing I had the Mars bar cheesecake with honeycomb ice cream, WOW. Mums Eaton Mess was big enough for 2, she loved it. I cant recommend this inn enough. Thanks for a great meal and a special evening.

We chose The White Horse as a base for a bit of stargazing in Dunwich and explore the nature reserves around, and I was very pleased with this Inn. The room, well sorted (sofa and fan; plus water and coffee, always welcome), and the bathroom were comfortable. The staff was very kind and helpful, and their breakfast, superb: juice, fruit salad, croissant, half English and coffee. We just stayed one night, so although they have a nice al fresco area, we didn't eat in, as we wanted to explore the coast; but I would consider to do it next time?

Welcoming staff, delicious food, excellent accommodation in a shepherds' hut. Rachel and Bethany made special efforts to help! I was delighted with the location, the comfort, the peaceful surroundings. The menu choices were varied, I recommend the fish and chips and local Suffolk ales. I was able to sit outside in the garden as the weather was dry. This is a charming country pub which should be visited.

What a fabulous meal we had. Four of us met here for the first time and what a lovely experience. We had 3 courses and every single course was brilliant, well cooked , flavourful and beautifully presented. All the staff were friendly , helpful even when the gravy was spilt, it was cleaned up quickly. The place was old and I bet in the winter its cosy, cosy, cosy. The facilities were clean and all were covid compliant. We will be returning....

Stay for one night for my wifes birthday. We had a great room with all the facilities you need. We ate in the restaurant and couldn't fault the food or the service. All the staff were lovely. Finally, the breakfast, once again food was great. Will definately stay again.

We had a fantastic weekend stay at the white horse. Excellent accommodation the above the pub spotlessly clean and tidy.we ate in the restaurant both nights and loved the food and atmosphere. The breakfast has to be seen to be believed.Lisa and the team are a credit to the pub. We loved it so much we have booked for another weekend already. Once again thanks all.

Great pub to visit for food and drinks. Excellent service, food, drinks and atmosphere. Will certainly visit again. 8 of us visited for Sunday lunch. The pub is lovely inside and nicely decorated and wonderful garden for sitting out in.

We have just returned from a couple of nights in Dave ..... a rather unusual name for a shepherd hut but I believe that it has family connections.

It felt brand new and was sparkling clean ... beautiful decor and it was far more spacious than I was expecting.

We had a huge shared garden with the other hut, but luckily no-one staying there, so we had a huge hot tub, BBQ and fire pit area ..... all decked out ... and very private and separate from the pub garden.

We didn't eat in the restaurant, so I cannot comment on that.

But I would highly recommend a stay here.
