Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Unfortunate experience with Puroni Bheti @ Jorhat. The website mentions plenty of descent snaps and activities at the property. On communication the owner and manager also assured the same. Surprisingly on visit we found the manager is missing from the place, the place is managed only by one guy … Mukti ( a very forthcoming gentleman). The rooms offered to us were far different from what was promised on website (snaps of rooms assured different rooms). It was very difficult for a single person the manage the guests, even there was no one to provide drinking water … forget tea or coffee. Kids had tough time as The dinner was served after lot of requests and delay. The rooms were smelly and the linens could have been clean. There were no activities as claimed on the website and on enquiry the manager gave a dumb reply that he is trace and it should have been clarified from the owner. On the next day after ordering the breakfast… the breads had ants all over … and finally the burnt roasts were served ….only one staff had a difficult time to manage all the guests and we had to leave without completing the breakfast. In all, inspite of a descently located property and spacious rooms it was a horrible experience due to lack of interest of manager and carelessnesses of owner towards the comfort of guests. Strongly not recommended for family travellers and fun loving people seeking good times.

A sprawling property that is sadly not well maintained at all. The manager was not site, none of the activities listed on the website were available and the rooms were definitely not value for money. Paint is peeling, the bed cover had a rip across, no toiletries or handwash even, and there was fungal growth on the ceiling.
We booked this place specifically for all the activities mentioned and after we reached we were informed that they were seasonal and the property needed to be alerted for the same in advance. When we called and spoke with the manager his response was i'll look into it and never called back. Not once to even ask if everything was up to mark.
The saving grace was the sole caretaker Mukti who gave us the history of the place and tried his best to make our stay memorable.
There is much potential with the place, sadly the owners have left it to ruin.

The first room we had (I think there are 4) had garbage under the bed. The place was filthy. No hot water we were not instructed on how to turn it on. We finally got another room that appeared to be cleaner but was still dirty. Breakfast was ok but the dinners (2) were the exact same food. Never could get breakfast or dinner at the time we requested. There is no resident family and they have been gone for a while. Orchids are dead or not cared for you can tell the place is not taken care of like it once was when Owners were residents. They have some sort of "greeting guides" who show up at dinner and say the family is on "vacation" and they are just helping out. Well, they are obviously hired to say that. We would not recommend staying at the Buroni Resort. Very disappointing.

My family and I had a wonderful time at Puroni Bheti! The food and tea was excellent. They also booked a guide for us – Mr. Pranjal Saikia – who did an amazing job of guiding us around Sivasagar, Majuli, and especially Kaziranga – he is a trained naturalist and helped us get amazing wildlife sightings and did a great job explaining the natural landscapes as well as history and culture. Would highly recommend both Puroni Bheti and Mr. Saikia.

My wife & I stayed here on the Haroocharai Tea Estate, outside Jorhat. Our host Rajiv, Baruah, was the epitome of hospitality… friendly, courteous, accommodating, obliging and well versed with the art and effectiveness of welcoming strangers and making friends.
The premises were spotlessly maintained, with well trained staff, well appointed rooms, endless cups of tea (behoving our staccato a tea-estate!).
The tasty introductions to Assamese food, the visit to the Tea research centre in Jorhat, the birdlife around, the clean atmosphere in the estate & the peace were just bonuses to die for!
A recommendable taste of what was eventually Amazing Assam!

Not well maintained, only one staff to help, so he was running all the time alone.. Dusting is required. No activities planned as promised prior. Manager was not available to help. He was not picking up the phone.
