We stayed at La Moutiere for two nights and had an amazing time. The accommodation is spotlessly clean. The breakfast was delicious - and there was lots of it. Francois booked restaurants for us for dinner on both nights - both of them were brilliant and not too far away. She also recommended places for us to visit - when we were staying in the area and also on the way to our next destination. We enjoyed all the places she suggested and would never have found them without her knowledge of the area. Would definitely recommend staying here

We just got back from a wonderful holiday at Françoise’s stunning house in the South of France. As a family of 7, aged from 6 to 67, we rented one of the largest gîtes and it was absolutely perfect, spotlessly clean and very well equipped and maintained. The grounds are vast and gorgeous and there is so much to do in the surroundings, from exploring local markets and medieval villages to visiting a crocodile farm and tree top challenges at Vert Tiges that the whole family was always happy. What makes this place extra special though is the care Françoise takes in looking after her guests, bringing bread and croissants in the morning, sharing her home made jam, recommending activities and making the whole stay so easy and stress free. Thanks to her, this has been the most relaxed time we’d had in a while. We are grateful we found la Moutière and will definitely go back next year.

La Moutiere is a beautiful property lovingly restored by Francoise and her family. It offers a variety of accommodation types and has a good size i.e. is never overcrowded. The surroundings are also beautiful and offer a lot of charm and tranquility. The pool is large and well maintained. Francoise is a very helpful host who offers lots of advice. A couple of small improvement areas; The breakfast is a bit monotone and everything is portioned e.g. everyone getting 1 croissant, 1 bowl of fruit etc. A small buffet would probably be better. Breakfast is at a communal table which again isn't for the ones who like to be in piece in the morning. The tennis court at la Moutiere is not usable and needs to be renovated.

We are two friend couples who rented “Est” in late June and a month later are still talking about our wonderful stay at Françoise’s lovely country estate. The location absolutely matched dreams of lavender fields (last days in June), wheat, countryside, nearby castles, amazing fresh local food, and serene sunshine filled days. Our charming apartment was spotless and fully equipped with everything including lavender scented soap and shower gel and all the linens. We only needed to walk in with shampoo & conditioner. There was even a washing machine available on site which was extremely helpful. Above all though, Françoise was the perfect hostess...thoughtful, entertaining, and overall amazing. Upon our arrival and a gracious glass of rosé, she asked whether we had plans for dinner that night and when we didn’t, she said “great because I have plans for you!” and she had booked us a table at a lovely restaurant nearby. We learned at that moment to place ourselves in her capable hands and enjoy the best the region has to offer. One night she made us dinner along with another couple and we thoroughly enjoyed her gourmet cooking and company. She even incorporated winter truffle into one of the appetizers so my friend could taste it. And when she learned our friends have 3 daughters, she surprised us the next day with a gift bottle of wine “La Trois Filles”. Although we didn’t have children with us, the place would work well for families with its pool, swing set, sandbox, volleyball net, and all in a beautifully landscaped setting where you can sip your wine looking at the lavender field while the kids play. Throughout our stay, I kept thinking how grateful we were to be staying here and not at a hotel (even the nicest one) — the experience just doesn’t compare.

We had a wonderful one-week stay at La Moutière, and are grateful for Françoise's warm hospitality. We stayed in the main house on a bed & breakfast basis. Our two rooms right at the top of the house were huge, clean and well-furnished. The bathrooms were also massive, with plenty of towels and lovely 'Durance' washing gel. Breakfast is an absolute feast with home-made natural yoghurts, compotes, delicious cakes (lemon/ chestnut/ peach, etc.) and of course fresh bread, pain au chocolat, croissants with home-made jams. A real treat. The swimming pool was great fun. There is also a tennis court, table tennis, swings and bikes to borrow. And our children's favourites: the two sweetest beagles Flash and Fly. La Moutière is perfectly located for lots of activities and to visit beautiful villages and the Drome castles (Grignan, Suze la Rousse, La Garde Adhemar), vineyards etc. We definitely recommend the accrobranche at Vert-tiges, only 15 mns away. Further away but an amazing experience: canyoning with Dromedecanyon. Also do rent electric bikes at Drome vélo - really great fun. We will definitely be back for another stay!

Francoise is an extraordinary host, always available for whatever you need: your dinner reservation, your special bread order for the next morning, delivery of just-picked organic strawberries from her neighbor farmer or eggs from her own chickens. The pool area is unusually beautiful and completely restful when we were there in the first half of May. We rented “le gîte Est” for a week and “le gîte Billard” for our second week, and loved them both. Stunning views of Mont Ventoux and mountains to the east from the top floor bedroom of Est. Francoise has done a gorgeous job of renovating this lovely building, and she keeps everything to a very high standard; spotlessly clean as well.

We stayed with Francoise and experienced her fantastic hospitality. The gite and grounds were spotless, with everything done with style and taste. A great place to stay and relax with very good recommendations on where to go and to eat. We will return in the future.

The time we spent at La Moutière was, without doubt, the highlight of our holiday in France in July 2014. When we think of France we all have a mental picture of the rustic charm of a typically French country house; La Moutière lives up to that ideal in every respect. The stonework, the shutters, the courtyard, the garden … it would not be out of place in a book on the most beautiful country homes in France. And it was all lovingly restored through the efforts of the totally charming and vivacious proprietor, Françoise. Our room (Corail) was sheer delight — a big bedroom with a spacious en-suite bathroom, both rooms well appointed and tastefully decorated. We descended each day for breakfast in the courtyard, and were treated to homemade fruit compotes (all made from fresh local produce), homemade yogurt, breads, cookies and delicious coffee. On our arrival, Françoise made a point of making bookings for us in the best of the many local restaurants for each of the evenings we were there. She introduced us to the area and helped to plan our activities so that we could make the most of the few days we were in the Drome region. But what makes Françoise such a perfect hostess is that she has a knack of bringing people together, and it was not long before we were getting to know all the other guests. This began on the very first evening when we were invited to join everyone for a ‘camion pizza’ … Certainly a new experience for us — and no pizza has ever tasted so good! We would not hesitate to recommend La Mouitère to anyone contemplating a visit to the Drome area. It will certainly be the first booking we make when we next have an opportunity to visit France again.

We have just returned from La Moutiere following a second visit. On this occasion we stayed in one of the gites and we weren't disappointed. Francoise's high standards and attention to detail are second to none. From the delivery of the morning croissants to the wonderful dinners around the lively dining table, Francoise is the perfect hostess. Beautifully maintained buildings, pool and gardens in a great location. A super holiday, we will definitely return!

We have stayed with Francois twice over the past three years and plan to visit again next year . La Moutiere is outstanding on all levels - decor - food - service and Francois is delightful. The dinner table is a must as is the little restaurant in the neighbouring village which Francois is only too happy to organise for you . A visit in the truffle season should be on the cards too.
