Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We stayed for three nights. The rooms were clean and spacious. We are breakfast every morning in the hotel, and enjoyed it. We are every dinner in the hotel too, and often enjoyed a beer or two in the afternoon at the bar. A great location, friendly staff, and very convenient. We would vacation here again.

The Volapuk was great - clean, comfortable, quiet and friendly, and with the ‘wellness’ offerings if you need them. Our wellness stretched as far as the bar, dinner in the restaurant and breakfast twice and our wellness was very boosted by them! The buffet breakfast was especially good with a wide selection of choices.

Bear in mind though that the Volapuk is a 10-15 minute bus ride outside of Konstanz in a little village called Litzelstetten, which doesn’t really have much in it. The bus stop is right outside the hotel and we discovered afterwards that a free bus trip is included in the voucher you get when checking in.

What a fantastic hotel. Clean, charming and in a great location. Rooms are more spacious and better appointed than most in Germany. Staff was wonderful and as a bonus the restaurant is super. We highly recommend this hotel and the location. Views of the lake are gorgeous.

A group of us stayed here for a single night. The rooms were clean, spacious and well lit. Many of them have fun decorations. There was a small kitchen area in our room. We found it very comfortable. Note: Our rooms were in a side building, not the main building. This also meant we did not have a view of the lake. We were facing other properties.

Nice outdoor patio for relaxing.

We had a group dinner in the restaurant. The staff had a very difficult time working with a group of 20 Americans. The waitstaff stress was felt by everyone. Most of us enjoyed our food despite the disorganized service.

We were traveling by car. Parking was limited.

Lovely bright hotel, comfortable room with lovely views of local area & gardens.
Unfortunately, our stay (& sleep) was spoilt by a couple arguing, banging doors throwing things around in their room above us for 2/3 hours during the night.
We tried calling reception but no one was on site!
Restaurant food & wine was good, prices reasonable.
Free underground parking.

As a hotel this was a truly excellent venue. In a great location with a free bus service into town, it could hardly have been better. The rooms are big, light and airy with a balcony, and very tastefully decorated. Good bathroom facilities (towels slightly tired). Reception staff excpetionally friendly and helpful. So from the accommodation standpoint, a great spot. The restaurant was disappointing. The staff just coulodn't cope with the breakfast numbers and food ran out - general mayhem on one morning! The evening meal service was woefully slow with a waiter who had to be reminded severtal times at every step of the way - not a good look at all. The food was average, with a schnitzel that was more like a "slab" than a schnitzel. So we would eat elsewhere next time, but would certainly stay again!

This place was pre-booked for me as part of a bicycle trip. Check-in was easy. The room with a double bed (for one person) had multiple blankets of different thicknesses (great as I find most blankets are too thick and hot for me). The shower got hot water quickly. The internet was fast. The buffet breakfast was great (except all the labels were in just German).

Hotel does not look much from the road but it is more pleasant on the inside. The rooms are clean and well sized. Good showers and a nice spa on the 3rd floor that is well worth a visit. In my opinion the beds are too soft, but that is a personal preference. There is a great bus service to the centre of town so no need to drive. The breakfast was good and you are well located for strolling on the nature reserve.

The hotel is in a quieter part of town and has everything you need. I had a great dinner at the restaurant- the potato pancakes are great! Their beer and wine selection is full of local options. Beds are spacious and comfortable. Breakfast had a huge selection and great coffee. Staff is friendly. Would recommend to families and couples.

We had room number 71 on the first floor with a balcony. The room is very modern. The bed was very good and we slept really well. We were in the building with the wellness area. The sauna was open every day from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. without prior reservation. An infusion was already ready. This is often not the case in other hotels. Nothing was missing at breakfast. Fresh rolls, bread, cakes, eggs of all kinds, fresh fruit, quark, yoghurt, muesli, antipasti, sausage, various sliced and hard cheeses, several types of jam, countless types of tea, juices, even fresh pancakes. Simply wonderful! As soon as something was running low, the friendly staff were immediately there to refill it. The breakfast area is very, very spacious, you can always find a nice spot. The underground parking space is free and during the holiday period the price of the bus, which takes 15 minutes to get to Konstanz and runs every half hour, is free. At reception you can get friendly and valuable leisure tips. All in all we had wonderful, relaxing sunny days.

Many thanks to the team at the Hotel Volapük
