Hotel Constancia is located a 100 meters from the old town of Constance and one can walk from there to almost all places of interest in Konstanz. The rooms are modern - the hotel was renovated in 2009 - but not very big. All amenities and necessities are there, however. The reception desk is helpful with providing maps and infos on restaurants, public transport, nearby speciality shops and bus routes.... make sure you get some parking in the inner courtyard... spaces are limited and tight, and if your arrival is in the late pm or evening only street parking will be available.

The hotel is different from the traditional hotels in Konstanz: Friendly service, good value for money and a tasteful modern room architecture. The rooms are very small -as in most hotels in KN, but the designed interior is interesting and functional. And mainly, the rooms are clean which also makes a difference to other KN hotels. The front rooms can be noisy, what might be a problem in summer with open windows, the backyard rooms are looking over the dirty reverse side of KN, so a view of the real KN: dirt and dangerous architecture hidden behind painted fronts: Potem-KN. KN indeed is a village which failed to solve living problems of the 19th century, and the KN aboriginees seem to be proud of it.
BUT: the hotel is in the midst of downtown, it offers parking places, wlan, and a very good breakfast in a nice modern environment. So really a surprise in this backward oriented village.
We have been in many hotels in KN, cheap hotels, expensive hotels. This is one of the best alternatives at a reasonable price.

We had the chance to have a junior suite , large place with a canapé
We were not very found of the transparent bathroom ! The room was very clean , a nice terrass on the roof top , hotel close from the center , not too expensive and the parking is convenient even if it is small ! Unfortunately no air conditioning and Konstantinos could be hot in summer

A nice, modern hotel close to the city center. They were very child friendly and had everything we needed to make traveling with an infant work (including air conditioning for hot nights so we didn't need to worry about street noise and block out curtains). Tasty breakfast as well served until 11am.

Tiny room, no space for luggage at all, bizzare bathroom in the room frosted glass no privacy, no socket by the bed, Dated seventies decor, noisy no sound proofing at all, Tiny wardrobe. I was supposed to have a double room but the space was more suitable for someone alone and under 4 feet tall, thank god I only stayed one night. Don't stay here if you like space and comfort, peace and quiet or anything that resembles a four star hotel, because it offers none of these things.

Avoid at all costs. We have now stayed in 3 different hotels in Konstanz, and whilst this one is well located on the edge of the old town, a number of things let it down (Perhaps we were just unlucky??) Stayed in room on 2nd floor - torn and heavily stained carpet on the lading was off putting, the room itself was also lacking the application of a vacuum cleaner with a clump of dust and hair flying across the room when the window was opened. Room is compact and nicely furnished and bed was very comfortable, the room was quiet. The compact bathroom with the (slightly odd) glass walls looks smart but the shower door leaked - a lot - stepped out of my shower into a pool! The wifi in our room at the back of the hotel - was the slowest I have experienced in a hotel for some time - very frustrating. The breakfast is OK limited choice but adequate - however the grey - yes grey!! fried eggs were obviously cooked some days before and should have been discarded. Finally staff - the lady who checked us in was delightful and helpful - even to moving her car to enable us to park in the tiny car park. However the blonde lady who checked us out has no concept of customer service and was direct to the point of rude. Most definitely she is in the wrong job! Would certainly not stay again.

I found this room at the last minute for my mother and brother to stay in for her 50th Birthday.

The room was small compared to others in the same price range in konstanz - although at least they had last minute availability. My mother loved the design of the room with glass walled bathroom, and so wanted to stay there.

However, at the time we didn't realise that the rooms face the street and are so noisy at night, - it is opposite a strip bar and some other bars, so it is noisy every night... Also, the room didn't have soaps.

In the morning for breakfast, the choice was quite small and limited. - Having seen the restaurant, they barely have two tables to serve a buffet breakfast on.

Very Disappointing, I don't believe that this is really a 4 star hotel.

Our room was sort of skimpy, but the most ridiculous was the bathroom - a wooden cubicle cut -out from the bedroom (16 m2 total) with partially frosted glass door that faced a mirrored wall: no privacy whatsoever while taking a shower or using the toilet. The bathroom was practically transparent, i.e. one could hear and see everything that was going on in the bathroom! Wardrobe space minimal-insufficient for 2 people with 3 hangers. The bedroom had a balcony overlooking the parking lot, which was shared between other bedrooms, so one could get to the other bedrooms on the same floor or on a higher floor climbing the escape stairs accessible from the balcony.

Nice, modern hotel with excellent WiFi!
The front rooms are a bit noisy if you need to open the windows, (which you will because there is no a/c)

Great breakfast and nice adult beverage selection in the lobby. Reasonably priced beverages in the rooms.

If you are a modest person you should be aware that the rooms have what I call "peekaboo" bathrooms; no privacy with partially frosted glass walls.

The location is close to Indian, Greek, Chinese and local cuisine restaurants.

The hotel is exactly what I expect from a good, reasonably priced German hotel. Comfortable rooms, pleasant ambiance and surroundings. Good breakfast, very helpful and pleasant staff.

Since we had to leave the hotel for the trade fair very early each morning, we missed most of our breakfasts, but were sustained by the box lunch the hotel put in our room fridge each evening - . No extra charge. A much appreciated service.

I note that this is, to me, a GERMAN hotel. Compared to an American hotel, there are many differences in room size, equipment, and expectations. I like this town, and I like this hotel.
