We came for just one night to this traditional German hotel in the heart of Konstanz.

The location is ideal to visit the city by foot and to walk around with many restaurants, bars and pubs nearby.

Despite the hotel is directly connected to an Irish bar the two rooms we used had great isolation and we have not heard anything.

All service personnel was very very helpful and extremely friendly - what a great charming host.

The breakfast buffet offers all sorts of variations and everything tasted great.

We stayed here early August for five nights. The room we had was very large, clean and quiet. We were apprehensive at first as we were in the room above the Irish bar but we needn't have worried. There was no noise whatsoever from the pub below us even though it was busy every night, although having said that, we had the windows and doors shut during the night. The staff were friendly and helpful and the bar meal was delicious. Lake Konstanz is a beautiful place but very busy with limited shops to buy food for self catering. We would recommend this apartment to anyone wishing to stay locally to the all the amenities.

We highly recommend this hotel. Friendly staff, a clean room, small surprises in the room 🙂, delicious breakfast. It’s definitely 10 out of 10. If you are a beer lover, there is an Irish bar on the ground floor.

The hallway is their "lobby" where the bartender of the Irish pub same person checking you in. The place only has narrow stairs so you'll have to drag your luggage. The location is central but hotel has no parking and you have to pay for parking which is 18 euros per day. The room itself is acceptable, breakfast is actually limited. Unfriendly staff seems to be having bad hair day not even bothering to greet guests. Overall, not worth the price we paid and will not stay here again.

This hotel provides a few rooms, but those arre spacious, renovated and clean. The bathroom is very big. The staftt is very friendly and helpful. The brekafast is good, even not too creative. Below is an Irish pub...but still quiet in the rooms. Only like 2-3 minutes walk to the historic ld town.

This hotel is only a short walk from the station and is easy to find. The rooms are fresh and very clean and the beds are really comfortable. Hairdryers, towels and toiletries are provided and there was a little bag of Haribo left on each bed for us. The beds were really comfy and we slept well. Wifi was easy to set up and worked well. The kitchenette is perfectly adequate, with a two ring hob, worktop and fridge. There was a wide range of foods for breakfast- cereals, fresh bread rolls, croissants, meat, cheese, jam, honey, Nutella, cucumber, tomato, yoghurt, kiwi fruit, oranges, apples, melon, orange juice, fresh coffee and tea. There is an Irish Bar below the hotel (this is where breakfast is served), which opens at 5pm each day. This serves meals until 11pm and we ate there twice- the meals are huge and the staff are very friendly and attentive. There is a little supermarket at the end of the road and a bigger shopping centre is only about 10 minutes walk away. We would stay here again, for sure.

We stayed at Hotel Scheffelhof for 2 days in August 2012. We chose the Hotel out of desperation as accommodation was tight in the high season. After reading the mixed reviews on Trip advisor I was wary. There are some good aspects to the hotel...Location in proximity to the main town is good ...Breakfast is adequate and the Pub meals are ok. However the Apartments are little more than an enlarged bedroom with some hot plates a fridge and a sink. The noise from the Irish Pub is a problem at closing time (1.00 -2.00am) if you want your windows open.WiFi is a hot spot arrangement which keeps dropping out after a few minutes and failed completely for several hours on the second day. There is no lift and people staying in Apartments usually will have more luggage.Only one of the reception staff spoke adequate english. Overall it is an adequate Hotel but not worth the money.

We stayed just one night in this nice hotel. We found the room absolutely clean, comfortable and cosy. The breakfast counted with a huge variety of food, such as cheese, meat, fruit, cereals and lovely handmade jams.

Initially we found this small hotel difficult to find and was surprised to see it was located above a Irish bar. Nonetheless, following this experience things only got better. Our room on the first floor was of medium size, exceedingly clean and relatively quiet. There is no air conditioning in the room apart from a mobile fan. The walk-in shower worked very adequately and our three day stay there was was pleasant. The stairs are not easy to negotiate for anyone with mobility problems. Breakfast is served in the bar and we certainly had no complaints concerning the quality. An outstanding feature was the friendliness of the staff, who couldn't have been more helpful if they tried. In conclusion we would certainly seriously consider staying here again.

We end up at hotel Scheffelhof after searching so many hotels to stay.
Konstanz was full in these days.
That will be THE reason for the expensive room.
It's a very simple room. It's clean, they provide everything.
Not nice and not cosy at all!!
We can't sleep, because the room was hot. Only a fan in the room. We can't open the window because of the mosquito's. They don't have shades to prevent insects.
The front desk lady is not friendly, always busy with her computer, although she knows that we wait for her. Not helpfull and gives wrong information.
Never go back to this hotel again!!!

"Parking is not always easy. There are parking structures not far. Street parking may be limited in time. Nights are OK until 9 am. I was told that the parking fine is less than the cost of parking in the organized parking lots (for a day). There is an all you can eat restaurant (mainly pasta and pizza, some mexican food) at the end of the street from the hotel. The pizza there was very good. Pasta - no so good. Mexican quesadias were nice."
