We stayed there recently for one night during a trip to The Bodensee. The hotel has an excellent location just inside the old city. As such, they did not have parking but there is a garage within a short walk that was reasonable and easily accessible.

The room was clean and did have shampoo! We were on the street side but it was relatively quiet and leaving the windows open allowed adequate ventilation. Our experience in Europe is that AC is just not something you find in most hotels so we did not expect it/miss it. Breakfast was very good with a nice variety of items to start the day. Our experience with the staff was that were helpful and professional. For 60 Euro per person we thought the rooms were well priced for a hotel in the city during tourist season. We would definitely stay again.

Nice hotel in the centre of the city. Room good for the price and good breakfast included. When we left we unfortunately left two items of value in the safe. We called, we emailed, we called - they say they checked several times and nothing was found. Next day we get a phone call saying the next guest had found the items... in the safe. I know it was our fault we left the items but sheer dishonesty from the hotel staff was very disappointing. I hope they read this review and alter their behavior for future guests that inadvertently leave things behind.

(Wish I could make 4.5 bubbles - temperature control and related traffic noise was for us a problem).
+ Location just off old town
+ great historic building
+ Staff - friendly and diligent, taking Covid professionally
+ Breakfast - really good, good coffee (only minus: pancakes served cold)
+ Bedding

- Temperature control in room - to try to regulate the temperature we had to leave the windows open, which meant lots of noise. (I had to shout out the window to partying neighbours on their balcony - but they were quite nice and quieted immediately).

We made a mistake in booking the Graf Zeppelin as it is not a hotel. We booked through Booking.com an "apartment" for one night to include breakfast for 159.30 euros.
On arrival we were told it was on the fifth floor, but the lift only went to the fourth floor. We were not offered any help with our suitcases.
We took the lift to the fourth floor and walked up to the fifth with our cases, to discover that the apartment is one floor higher....in other words 2 flights of stairs with your luggage. (Is this a hotel?)
On climbing up to the apartment, there were many noticeable issues: the bedroom does not have a window!! It has a high up porthole with no curtain or way of blocking the light, but no window! The bed was almost on the floor. The room was not clean There was no aircon, and at the top of the building on a day when it was 33c this was no place to stay.

We booked elsewhere, accepting that we would lose our money and the hotel tried to charge us in full for the booking. I pointed out that we would not be having breakfast and that should be deducted from the total and the receptionist reduced this by 12 euros to 147.30. Assuming the breakfast was going to be like everything else in this dump it was hardly a surprise. So our strong advice if staying in Konstanz is to give this hostel a wide berth......readers of our reviews will see that we have stayed at hotels across Europe and nowhere comes anywhere close to this place for awfulness.

Ranking 1 is only because of great breakfast.
My appartment is on „6th floor”. You can get to 4th floor by elevator, so 2 more floors you have to do on your foot. Extreamly hot in my room - my swiss chocolate melted during the night. Very small bathroom.
I couldn’t sleep during the night. Unbearable during hot weather.
The price is far too exoensive for accomodation quality.

Good points: It's near to the city centre and it looks lovely from the outside.

Bad points:
There is no parking at this hotel. Nearest car park is 12 Euros per night.
Breakfast has no hot food, and very little choice of cereal. Food and drink take a while to be replenished and are quickly snapped up by hungry waiting guests.
There was no working lift and our room was on the third floor of four! No help was offered with luggage.
Hotel was not tranquil and peaceful as promised. The central location has lots of traffic and windows and shutters do not keep it out.
Bathroom smells, even after daily cleaning.
Walls are thin, so you can hear other guests taking showers, slamming doors, playing music, walking up and down stairs.
Very few staff around for reception and restaurant.
Manager totally unwilling to listen to complaints and pretended not to understand me, even though he could understand English previously. He actually laughed at me as I was complaining and didn't take notes of anything I said. All he wanted was my credit card for the money.
This hotel cost us 60% more than the other 3 hotels on our trip to Germany but was much much worse.

LOCATION: very central, in the middle of the Old Town, but still quiet (1’ by foot to the shopping street(s), 6’ by foot to the lake)

ROOMS: neither stylish nor very modern, but absolutely fine; comfortable beds; spacious room, rather tiny bathroom; we had a corner room with 2 windows which I appreciated a lot

STAFF: some were friendly or even very friendly, some seemes not too motivated

BREAKFAST: delicious – I didn’t expect such a good breakfast for that price; there’s everything I need: a lot of fresh fruit (melon, pineapple, strawberries, blueberries, ...), different granola and oatmeals, excellent bread and one morning, the even had soy milk :)

VALUE FOR MONEY: excellent – if you’re looking for a hotel in the centre of Konstanz, this is definitely my recommendation

We spent there two nights (originally booked for three). The room was advertised for four people but was nothing else just a normal room with one extra bed. (opened sofa bed). Old furniture, poor room amenities. Expensive and the service is not worth for money even the staff was helpfull. The breakfast is avarage. Only positive is the location, close to the old town but no parking for hotel quests.

31 May 2016. Apologies late review. Been writing a book.
A la Europe - not trusted to have a boiler in our room. Had to carry cups of hot water upstairs so glad cups had a lid.
Toilet facility in bathroom barely 2" of 'freeboard' between it and fixed shower screen. No handrail in bathroom. I must be showing my age.
Otherwise - handy location and helpful staff, and clean room.

Stayed here for 4 nights. Nice accommodations. We had the executive suite and it was spacious and modern. Excellent location. Close to the train station and a few minutes walk to the town square. We had the pleasure of being there during the wine festival. What a treat. Great food, wine and fun.

Quanto dista dalla stazione ferroviaria??
Answer from Ester S
Bergamo, Italy12 contributions8 helpful votes
Ciao
