Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Hotel located 50 meter from Marktstätte and the old town. Friendly staff, good breakfast and clean rooms. A little noise from the street at night, but it wasn't a big problem for us. Only a short distance from the train and bus stations.

Hotel was in a good location, room is decent size for Europe. Room had ceiling fans to keep it a little cooler, overlooked the train station and lake. Noise was not a problem, with the exception of the Italy/Germany UEFA Euro game but what do you expect in Germany when they win?? Woo! The downfall to this place is the booking sites all say parking is available, what they don't mention is it is in a parking garage (not validated) and costs 20 Euro per day. The breakfast was a traditional European setup, staff are friendly and helpful. They also gave us 2 free bus passes to use for our entire stay, although we ended up just walking everywhere to enjoy the beautiful city! PS, it's a 5 minute walk along the waterfront to the Swiss border, which my kids thought was awesome!

Is- next to Mc Donalds. Its a good location.. 4 stars

No a/c so you have to have the windows open.

The name is a small sign and then painted in small print in the building “centro”, and arrows.

Its expensive for what you get!!

Voiles the hotel as it had air condition but I was given a room without. Noisy and smelly from outdoors but it was necessary to have the windows open to get some air in. I was promised a new room on the fourth floor with AC and packed my things. Coming back in the evening I wasn’t given a new room. Tomorrow I have to pick my stuff again to be given a new room. Wonder if it will happen? T

We stayed three nights at this hotel. The reception staff have little in the way of customer service skills, and do not communicate to each other, so we had toast for gluten free bread for breakfast on several occasions, and were assured it would be there. They managed to get this right by day 3.we had them wash some clothes, I lost one pair of jeans from the three I was traveling with (for a 7 week trip) and the others were washed and dried so hot that they now feel like stockings. Again it was several requests re the lost jeans, with no one knowing anything. The hotel is located over mcdonalds, and so late night party goers with the munchies gather outside late at night and the noise means tht you need to close the window, and the heat of the room means you need to turn on the very noisy fan. We did have a view of the lake, and the water pressure was good, but KonstAnz is a beautiful town, and well worth.a visit...but don't stay here!

The staff here are the most rude, obstinate people I have ever met - and I work as a prison guard!
Lake Constance is a beautiful area, but the hard-nosed, non-accomodating personnel at this hotel have pretty much ensured that we won't be visiting the area again, due to the horrific memories we have of this hotel.

We asked for extra blankets and pillows, and you would think we had asked them to give up their own children, the way they responded! Any time we spoke to any of the staff, the response began with an eye-roll and a "Tsk!!:

I'm not sure whether they just hate Americans, or they treat all their guests as a great inconvenience and imposition!

If you like being abused as a guest, and want your trip to southern Germany destryed, by all means, stay here!

Although this hotel advertises itself as being on Bodensee (Lake Constance), it is actually located quite far from the lake. There is no lake view.
I saw a rat in my room, and when I reported this to the owner, he became extremely rude and indignant.
I left the hotel due to the rats ( the one in my roon, and the one who owns the place) as well as the overall filth of the place, and they had the nerve to bill me for nights I didn't stay there!
If they don't clean the place up, and if they treat all guests this eay, I can't imagine how they stay in business!

I booked this hotel becuase the location and price were good. But I immediatly found out that service is nonexistant aftter 6pm. Literally no one is at the front desk! They promised that I could arrive after 6pm and they would leave a key in a lock box. I arrived and there was no key. They did not answer the 24 hour number that was posted. I ended up having to check into the hotel next door at twice the price. Quite frustrating! Needless to say I recommend that people stay somewhere else.

We stayed for 3 nights thus July (2013). The heat was awful. There was no air- conditioning and the stickers on the windows said not to open them if the light is on because of mosquitoes. We suffocated in the room, it was 35 degrees outside, so we opened them a little to let some breeze in. After an hour the room had hundreds of mosquitoes flying all over. The staff said they couldn't help us. We got bitten all over, and had to spend the rest of the days in a suffocating, closed- windows, sauna room. We asked to check out the following day but couldn't because of the high cancellation tax they charge (80%!!!) Definitely not worth the high price they charge per night!! It ruined our stay in Constanz.

This is most likely the best located property in town. Right opposite the lake, the train station and the bus station. The night life around is amazing. The staff is very helpful as well. We had been travelling for some days and wanted some Indian food we had with us. We requested the night staff at reception to heat it for us. To our surprise, she not only did that, but also served us bread to go with our food. Dal Makhni never tasted so good with the fresh oven bread!
