Hotel is ideally located near old town and the harbor. Bus for our group could park briefly outside to unload, and then go off to the larger parking area west, ca. 600 yards. The lobby is very narrow, and there are no ramps outside and inside. Elevator works well. We had the advantage of staying in the attic, 4th floor, and the room was really nice, large, with AC working well. There was a small fridge, and a flat tv. Nice bathroom (no tub), with a skylight. Celing sloping, with exposed wooden beams, but one of us hit the head, so be careful. Floor was a bit sloping. The other rooms had no AC, only fans. Poor. Breakfast room is superb, with a great terrace. Nice range of foods, warm and cold, juices, coffee, etc. We needed a room for meetings and could use it in the afternoon.

This hotel was nice I cannot complain. We had a pleasant time here and cannot complain about the hotel. If I return back to Konstanz I will stay here again. However for the price the breakfast could be better

The hotel was opened only 3 months ago (spring 2007) in the former non-smoking hotel. The location is good and bad at the same time: Across the street from the LAGO shopping center, 5 minutes to the train station, 10 minutes to SeaLife, at the border of the old town, close to restaurants, bus stop in front. But due to the location at a busy street it gets VERY loud very early in the morning and into the night. And closing the windows is not a real option in the summer (no a/c, naturally, in a 3-star hotel), especially for the south-facing rooms. Do yourself a favor, draw the blinds during the day.

Everything is new and smells new. The bathroom was small, but nicely equipped. Hair dryer is provided as well as minute shower gel portions. A flat TV, designer lamps and modern furniture - except for the cheap, light blue sofa in the room which will no doubt look terrible within a year and does not go at all with the rest of the dark brown furniture.

Reception is in the 2nd floor but to get to the lift you have to go up some stairs. Not so funny with a heavy suticase. The strangest thing is the reception itself, which is just a table in the breakfast room. You check out and the people next to you have breakfast ... The fax and credit card reader are in a closet. Strange! At 120 EUR not exactly cheap for a 3-star, but all hotels of this class in Constance were at that rate in July.

For €200 a night, it‘s way overpriced, even (or especially) during Covid. The room is super basic, with poor WiFi, no Kleenex, no soap in shower ( container was empty after one shower) , no spare toilet paper, and TV hangs so high up on the wall, you literally have to stand to watch TV. The mini bar had one small bottle of wine (in a room for two in one of THE wine counties) . Also, it was a very hot night, and the window was facing the Main Street, ( Even though I asked for a quiet room) so it was either noisy and hot or just extremely hot at night. A fan of sorts would be expected for this price. Not to mention air con. Breakfast is OK and the location is great, close to everything. It’s just not providing much value other than location for the price. .

I've payed one night stay but was refused a service because of Corona. Nowhere do they prevent potential customer from booking and nowhere do they mention it is impossible to actually stay in the hotel. While trying to talk to the employee to see how can I get a refund since they are the ones not providing a service, I was met with extremelly rude response and was informed that they are not returnig any of my money back. Sadly, that minimum here is one star as I'd like to give them negative stars.

I have to write a bad review about a hotel that I thought would stand up to it's online reputation. I have made an online reservation through a booking agency, witch was confirmed. After that, I wrote to the hotel DIRECTLY, and they confirmed my reservation again via email.
When I arrived I was told that some rooms entered renovation and that they are no longer able to accommodate us, despite our confirmed reservation. They pointed us to a nearby hotel.
I find this kind of situation absolutely unacceptable.

On our third night in Germany we arrived at the Hotel Augustiner Tor. My daughter lives in Konstanz and had booked the room for us. It is downtown and convenient to just about everything. We had wanted to be in the heart of the lovely old city near the pedestrian area and this hotel provided that. We were able to pull up almost in front of the hotel and unload luggage. One of us stayed with the luggage while the other parked the car in a covered public lot not far away. (Few hotels in the downtown area have their own parking.) We had to climb about 6 steps and then an elevator was available to take us to check-in and then to our room. This is a small hotel. We were greeted warmly by our host (check-in is a card table set up in the breakfast room!) and then went to our room. It was small, but immaculate and quiet –crisp white sheets and a fresh clean smell. Our daughter had requested a room which did NOT open onto the main street as June is warm and few hotels are air conditioned unless you have very deep pockets. We wanted to be able to have our windows open at night. The bath was one of the nicest we had in a month of traveling. --Ultra clean and spacious. We spent a quit, comfortable night and breakfast was quite good. I can also recommend a good restaurant in the area--the Hafenhalle Restaurant at Hafenstrasse 10 . It had a wide selection, great food and good service. We went with some locals who say that they keep coming back.

No reason to go there, but a lot of reasons to go aanywhere else!
The desk is located at the 2nd flit (!?!), our room right beside the desk, and the breakfast room: from our bed, one can hear the phone ringing, the lift going up and down and most of all, the noise of the knives in the breakfast dishes and the spins in the cups.
They don't know what friendly means, and last but not least, or magnetic key was deactivated at arrival the second night! With nobody anywhere of course! There's an "emergency" phone number outside, which I had to call 3 times to get an answer, and we waited 30 minutes to get a replacement key!
I said: RUN !!! 😈😈😈😈

We stayed at this hotel with our two kids and booked a room with a sofa bed. I explicitly asked them in advance to prepare the sofa bed for sleeping but at our arrival nothing was ready, i asked the housekeeping to put sheets on the sofabed but she didnt understand a word, i pointed at the sofamatress inside the sofa and gave signs that we need it.

When you enter the hotel, theres a reception counter that is really NEVER staffed, because they moved the tiny reception to the second floor, so dont be surprised.

In the elevator theres little light to read what they wrote on the mirror glass, theres no sign at the floor numbers to indicate the hotel reception.

Its generally a dark hotel at night, they dont put lights near the elevator or the stairs, complete darkness, so not suitable for kids or ladies.

The rooms are ok for 1 or 2 nights, rather new, but i hoped i would not have to see the dust below the bed while getting my kids toys out from down there.... The toilet wasnt cleaned well since the last occupant... the shower head holder was damaged, no space for soaps in the shower itself as the holder was removed, a rather old flat tv with a not so responsive remote control.

There seems to be no staff after 3-4 pm, so make sure you get everything sorted out before.

Check-In, Check out was easy, that worked well.

There is NO parking or even an opportunity to unload your car in front of hotel, so you have to park your car in the LAGO shopping mall 200 meters away.

Location is great though, right in the city center and good for shopping trips. If you dont mind the things i mentioned above, its a suitable hotel for one night.

The hotel is direct in the city centre, not far away from the main train station, ferry terminal and the main attractions of the city. My room was new, relatively wide, clean and quite (surprising I had two bathrooms, dividing the toilet from the shower). The air dryer was ok. I had a large mirror at the room entrance, very practical! The breakfast buffet was well furnished. The reception was on the first floor (you have to walk on a stair before you can use the elevator). The staff was very friendly. Internet was not inclusive.
