Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

Stayed one night. The owner texted the front door code the night before.
On arrival there are no staff but a telephone number to call if assistance is needed.
Room Key was left inside.
We had room 8 which is on 2nd floor. This is an historic old building which has charm. No lift, so stairs may be hard if you have a physical disability.
The room was spacious, recently renovated. Modern shower bathroom. Lovely comfortable bed.
Room nice and warm as it was very cold outside.
No coffee/tea facilities in room.
There is an honesty bar on the ground floor breakfast bar area.
Breakfast was served from 7.30 to 9.30. The owner/manager was in attendance.
Boiled eggs/bread rolls/jam/meats/cheeses/cereal/pastries /fruit and yoghurt.
Really good strong coffee from the machine.
Enough food for all guests. I counted 10 including ourselves.
The owner/manager was friendly and chatty when we booked out.
No complaints, a good value. Would stay there again.

The hotel is very clean, we had a room with wooden parts on the wall and it was a really nice experience - you can feel a history in tjhis building. Very modern bathroom, amazing breakfast. But... every window is on the main street, really loud when you open the window (it is hard to not open while summernight). Besides - there is no stuff except morning hours, so when you arrive no one awaits for you, you can get the code for the door lock by the phone. There is a very small parking space close to the hotel - just for two cars. The hotel is very close to the city center- about 10-15 min walk. I can recommend to the young people who expect close city center, clean room and don't matter the noisy street.

We stayed here in a quadruple room (2 adults, 2 children)and it was super clean, extremely spacious and warm. Its an old style hotel but we enjoy this kind of décor.
The breakfast buffet had a lot of choice and plenty on offer.
The area was perfect for us.. both city center and old historic center of Bamberg is 10minutes walk. The bus stop is right outside the hotel.
Would definitely stay here if we visit Bamberg in the future.

Nice place on edge of town. It isn't staffed during the day, only at breakfast by the very friendly owner. It has an honesty bar for beer/wine/water.Good sized rooms with new large bathrooms. Nowhere to sit outside apart from a tiny inner courtyard.

Hotel is a 10 minute walk from the town centre. Lovely old building but the rooms really modern and spotless. Comfortable bed and windows triple-glazed to keep out the noise (very little). Super modern bathroom (room 10). Breakfast buffet typically German but with scrambled eggs available. Wonderful fresh rolls and very good bread. Although nobody around in the evening, there is a good wine celllar ( unusual for a beer town) where you can help yourself and pay when you leave. Only complaint, the first morning, the staff (young girls) just stood around and were about as useful as a chocolate teapot. We had to set our table ourselves, take away used plates and needed to fetch our own coffee. From the 2nd day, a young waiter really took care of us! Would go back again price/service/comfort very good.

The old and well-maintained hotel is located near the center and is very quiet in the evenings. The room we booked was beautiful with the stucco ceiling. The beds were very comfortable and a beautiful bathroom rounded off the cozy atmosphere.
The staff is very friendly and the breakfast is good!
I will book a room here again.

A structure with an ancient flavor but well renovated. Rooms not huge but still comfortable. Quite varied breakfast, despite the small size of the space available. The location is also not bad, a few steps from the historic center.
