My room was excellent in comfort, spotlessly clean and with a nice large balcony directly facing sea. Food, during the evening and during breakfast, was of a high standard. Also a big compliment to the friendly and competent staff. It is wonderful strolling outside the hotel at the sea in this little town. It should be a five star recommendation, so here is the but... Instead of rurally outside- just the sea & the seagulls as ambient sound and people at the promenade- the first evening there was a bachelor party going on in front at the beach restaurant. Can't blame the hotel for this, but next day the same flock of people had booked the hotel as the wedding location. In the afternoon with the official ceremony directly in the hotel garden, with amplified sound rolling all over the place. A foul singer for hours made the non-tranquillity complete. Late at night, after their diner, the wedding party rolled out over the hotel, with children running at 11 PM loudly through the corridors and wedding guest to start yelling their good bye's. At 3.30 AM, remaining guests decided to walk to the beach for a drunk sing, while others bumped their way to the closed terrace for a chat. Directly under my hotel room. I can't blame the hotel to accommodate such celebrations, and the wedding guests to have a splendid time. But, paying EUR 289 per night with expectation to have a rural weekend sea experience, didn't came out. I will come back at some time, because the place is great. When the hotel confirms there are no (huge) parties planned as such at these days. …

Wonderful hotel, great hospitality - especially for our dog. Fantastic culinary experience in the restaurant. The view from the airy room was great overlooking the beach and the fjord. We would definitely stay again!

Such a lovely hotel. Had a very comfortable room - perfect bathroom. Atmosphere and staff extremely welcoming and friendly. The location is very picturesque and all in all a nice weekend getaway! Breakfast was super nice - the scrambled eggs were wonderful. Would recommend the destination and hotel for a short weekend away.

Such a great place. The rooms are very nice. We were in the mail building and close to the water. We loved it. The facade is undergrund renovation and for that We recieved 20 procent discount - We did however still have a view and there was no noise. The staff was very freindly and serviceminded Overall really special weeekend

The location of the hotel is perfect! It's a beachfront location on the Baltic Sea and a few minutes drive to the castle and city center. There is also a nice path along the sea to take long walks. My husband and I stayed in the Elizabeth suite, which was gorgeous. It was very spacious with a bedroom (comfortable bed), separate living room, large bathroom and a guest restroom. There were plenty of comfortable chairs and couches to sit on. It is one of cleanest hotel rooms I have ever stayed in, and my husband who is very picky, fully agreed. Everything looked very new and it was spotless. We had a sea view. Unfortunately, there was scaffolding by our balcony because they were doing some renovations, but we were still able to see the water. Plus, they gave us 20% off our stay. All staff were helpful and friendly. My husband and I wanted to eat out breakfast in our room each morning and they were very accommodating. The breakfast buffet was one of the most complete buffets I have seen during COVID. There were plenty of choices of rolls/bread, cheese, eggs, meats, cereal, yogurt, fruit and juices. We visited this place during a trip across Germany. We liked the style in the Hotel. Everything is nicely decorated and well maintained. The staff is friendly and efficient. The breakfast was a real surprise, rich and tasty. One of the best we had in a German Hotel.

We were spending a weekend at Glücksburg strandhotel in january, celebrating my fathers 75 birthday. We were 9 people (3 generations). We have all been at the hotel many times before. During dinner in the hotels restaurant we were several times asked to keep our voices down. We were talking, sharing stories, laughing and just having a good time. We were not acting crazy. We are a nice family with good values. The waiter kept telling us that guests had complained. The manager of the restaurant were very intimidating, just staring at us the whole time. In the end it made our dinner a bit unpleasent. Before we went to our rooms, we tried to talk to the manager about the situation and that we did’nt understand why 9 people are not allowed to celebrate and have a good time. Again, we did not sing, acting crazy, we were not drunk etc. The manager called us stupid and kept turning his back on us. Very disrespectful. We spend quite an amount of money that weekend. The next day we apologized to the manager. That evening at dinner, we once again were told to keep quite. Now we were frustrated and my father who paid for all of us were very sorry and disappointed. During dessert, a danish guy from another party came to our table, quite drunk and angry. He asked my brother in law to go outside to talk. We were amazed. Outside of the restaurant which had windows so we could see, there were another danish guy waiting. They yelled and pushed my brother in law and wanted to start a fight. We have never experienced anything like this before. We got scared and my other brother in law tried to talked things down. The danish guys were those who had complained the evening before. The manager did not react very proffesional and tha whole situation was highly disrespectful. We are a good and loving family, and we have never tried this before. When we came back from that weekend, i wrote an email to Glücksburg strandhotel, adressed to the manager of the hotel, to explain our frustration and the fact that our weekend was ruined. I was very respectful in my tone and asked for a respons. I never heard anything. I wrote them again, but no answer. I am very very dissapointed that a hotel in that category, are acting this way towards their customers. Our family have been visiting this hotel many times before with big succes. But this time was a time that we don’t forget and approve. We will not ever again, spend any money at this hotel. Dispite a beautiful location and rooms, the behavior was so far out, that we do not want to experience that again. If 9 people are not allowed to laugh, talk, and have a good time, i don’t know what is allowed then. Maybe a funeral.…

Es war uns hierzu bereits in den zuvor geführten Gesprächen und Korrespondenzen ein großes Anliegen, unser Bedauern auszudrücken, weil es zu Unannehmlichkeiten gekommen ist, obwohl die Verursachung wohlgemerkt nicht bei uns lag. Bitte verstehen Sie aber auch, dass wir stets auf die gute und immer niveauvolle Atmosphäre in unserem Haus achten. Allein deshalb war es während Ihres Aufenthaltes notwendig ruhestiftend einzuschreiten, um unseren Restaurant- und Hotelgästen noch mehr Unangenehmeres zu ersparen. Nach wie vor rechnen wir es Ihnen aber hoch an, dass Sie sich am Morgen nach dem ersten Tag Ihres Aufenthaltes, bei unserm Personal in aller Form für Ihr Verhalten entschuldigt haben. Stayed for 3 nights in a corner room with seaview. Very nice room, big and with great views. Not far from the room there's a "ballroom" and on one evening there was some kind of a concert. We couldn't hear the music but a lot of noise from people going to and from the concert. It didn't last for long but still somewhat irritating. Try to get a room away from the ballroom. Breakfast was nice and all staff very helpfull. There are great walks in the area and along the coast. A place we will return to for a few days of relaxation.

Our charming suite was with a view of the sea, it was expensive but worth it. A balcony with blankets to sit outside and enjoy the view. I was also disappointed there was no jacuzzi, we did not use the wellness center. Breakfast was very good too, my husband is not the gourmet type so we didn’t have dinner here. Very friendly staff, comfortable beds with nice robes and slippers. A bit disappointed there was not a way to have a proper cup of tea since the cream was for coffee. We did receive a welcome gift, very lovely touch.

I can't say enough about the bed, after a day of shopping in Fensburg, we checked into the hotel and laid down to relax before dinner.... 2 hours later we woke....best nap ever! Charming, quiet setting on the Baltic Sea with perfect autumn weather. We enjoyed the hotel & the quiet walks on the beach. The staff was extremely attentive & the food was really nice, however very large portions! Great value for the price. Breakfast the next morning was delicious and had a nice selection of typical European breakfasts. Bonus feature.... ice machines on every floor, coffee & tea in the room. Wonderful hotel & staff... we will return!
