We booked a room with them early this year around the March timeframe. We have emails documenting that we had a reservation with them and when we showed up to claim our rooms they were given away. The place is horribly run down. There are so many other beautiful places to stay in the area. Do not waste your time... More

Schiffmeister is an old building which exudes historical charm. The wide wooden stairways creak and there's no sneaking down the hallway. The rooms are large, though eclectically decorated. A room on the front side, however, is one of the best views in Bavaria. Even if you aren't on the front, the location at the edge of the lake is still... More

I was standing outside of the hotel waiting for the boat. Suddenly, the staff lady came to me by pushing me & my backpack while saying "don't lean on plants/flowers". Very rude and impolite. I'm not their guest but I was very angry and upset to be treated like secondary tourist in here. The beautiful memory in this place was... More

Appearance is not everything. The hotel was clean and friendly, but offered no meal service, only breakfast. It is very large and I do not think very often utilized . It's going on the most busy time of the tourist season, and I'm probably one of two or three guests in this huge place. It's easy to see that this... More

we arrived last minute looking for a room. We went to see the room for 150 euros and they showed us a large room with a really dirty carpet and old furniture at the back of the hotel. Not classic furniture, but just old and falling apart. No charm to the room at all. Empty, painted white, nothing on the... More

This is the perfect place if you want to get to see the true face of Bavaria. This Hotel is one of the most authentic piece of architecture in the area - over 100 years old, a true gem! It has personality and charm, decorated with love for detai and vintage flair. The landscape is breathtaking and the balcony view... More

This hotel is old and linked back to history and it should stay that way. Start to renovate and you lose the old world charm. The floor boards squeak, the bath rooms are out side the rooms and the stairs make the loudest noise. WE JUST LOVED IT. We stayed here over Christmas and had loads of snow. we have... More

My boyfriend and I decided to stop in Bavaria on our way back from Italy to Kaiserslautern, to spend some time in his father's favorite spot in Europe. The area is absolutely breath-taking and everything is so close. We parked in the main parking area (Parkplatz Königssee)and then walked the 7 minutes to the hotel. It was only about 7€... More

My husband and I stayed at this hotel in Sept 2014 while visiting the region with a tour group. Location is amazing, right at the edge of the lake but sadly the hotel has seen better days (decades ago). Stairways and floors are very uneven making you wonder if the building is structurally sound. Our room was supposed to have... More

“If you can afford and there is availablity, I would reccomend a balcony room facing the lake. It may seem so simple but waking up in the morning to the lake and mountains and seeing all the people wondering around is actually really wonderful.”
