First thing I noticed was the location of the pub/Hotel. Station into London is literally over the road which is very convenient. We stayed here to go to Thorpe park which wasn't too far away (about 20-30mins drive) A nice park over the road. Not much in the way of parking though from what I could see.
The inside was nicely laid out. The staff member was extremely friendly and helpful (sorry can't remember your name) young lady in 20s possibly. Anyway, hospitality was great on check Inn.
Room was massive and could have accommodated a family and had an extra bed. Big wardrobes, coffee, tea etc. Bathroom was smallish and not a very big shower for the larger person. Beds were comfy, towels provided were good though a little small. Needed some larger towels.
Food was nice if a little Hugh in price but this is London so you expect to pay a little more. Nice chips very chunky.
Staff on the later shift were nice. Young guy very pleasant however one lady. Shall we say a little over middle age didn't come across very well and seemed a little rushed off her feet and very stoic. Polite but did not seem to want to interact. This let the otherwise pleasant experience down.
Overall a nice stay apart from the above. Would stay again for the convenience but would have to check out nearer places to Thorpe.

This establishment has a scruffy charm, some would modernise but it is a comfortable and roomy place. Friends speak highly of the new chef. We had an enjoyable lunch , large prtions and nicely cooked .Good value. Can be noisy.

Some enterprising sausage and mash options, something different....good. Good choice of beers and ciders. Service friendly but seemed a bit slow. Not very busy at weekday lunchtime. Spacious and comfortable, especially the seating. Good value,,,, will return for lunch when in area.

Was meant to stay for 4 nights whilst my daughter attended a course in Woking. Had chosen it because it was a short train trip into the town centre. There are NO redeeming features about this place, unless you include the fact that they don't argue over refunds because the management seem well aware of the disgusting state of the rooms and isn't too fussed. Arrived in the room to find it had not been cleaned, apart from fresh sheets the rest of the room was grubby and scruffy. Food, greasy hand marks, coffee splashes, urine stains, grimy windows... I could go on. There was a small ensuite which was filthy. Why I did not simply leave there and then I do not know! I went down to the only member of staff who was in the bar, asked them to come and clean the room, was told no one available but the cleaner would be informed for tomorrow... I cleaned the room myself, including the disgusting ensuite as I wasn't sure whether I could find alternative rooms I could afford after just having paid £280 for the 4 days. Later had an overpriced and fairly horrible meal in the bar, which is nothing like it looks in the photos. The whole place is grimy and in a state of disrepair. Overnight the noise made it impossible to sleep, from both the pub itself, the station over the road, people shouting in the street and other residents in the rooms wandering about well into the early hours talking loudly on speakerphone and crashing around in the kitchen at all hours through til around 4am. The shared kitchen was very dirty, I wanted to put food in the fridge but had to clean it first before even touching the door. 2nd night even worse (we wondered if the first night was just bad luck but no!) By 3am I had booked us into a Youth Hostel near Dorking and we were packing up ou9r stuff. I have no idea why this place is marketing itself as a hotel, it is in need of a massive, industrial scale, deep clean and upstairs in need of renovation too. Clearly running on the business model of take people's money and see how much is left once guests have asked for their refund. After I complained through Booking.com, we were offered a £70 refund, but I had to go into the pub to get the refund! Despite not wanting to set foot in the place again I made myself go and asked for a refund for both the nights we didn't use, which they agreed to do. I should have been offered a full refund as we had no sleep, the room was vile and I did a good 2 hour clean to make it even vaguely habitable. The stink still lingers on our belongings! DO NOT BOOK A ROOM HERE!!!

Awful in all respects; stayed here for a night as couldn't find anything affordable in Woking and £55 sounded like a good deal. The pub itself isn't too bad but the stuff were rude, just handed me the key and said your rooms upstairs 🤣.
The food was terrible, there specialty sausages and mash were terrible. Tasted like packet mast and gravy granuals.
As for breakfast, well there isn't any! There's a small kitchen but nothing in it, some out of date milk and that was about it.
The bedroom was very basic, plugs for the tv attached with extension leads, smelly, damp room, very dusty.
On the plus side the larger wasn't too bad lol

Today I came to the station to enjoy a drink as an early birthday catch up with my friend (sue) and I thoroughly enjoyed my visit.
The service was amazing and the corona virus regulations were put in place. I could see this was very well thought out to make sure everyone that visited felt safe.
The Cheese garlic bread is to DIE FOR.
Our waitress named Mollie was very friendly and welcoming. She accommodated our every need. She is very polite and cheerful young lady.
Will definitely recommend and will visit again.

Let me begin with the positives: the pub downstairs is not bad and the food is good. Some of the bar staff are friendly (though some are rude to the point of comedy).
We stayed here for a couple of nights and I can safely say that this is the worst B&B I have ever stayed in. The second B; I have no idea what it stands for. It cannot be the room they have assigned as breakfast room because aside from four packets of cereals, some milk and bread; there is no actual breakfast. There is a room in which, if you're lucky enough to find bread, you can toast your own bread.
The rooms are barely okay. Once you get past the fact that it is dusty, there is no way to get into the wardrobe (on account of there being no door handle attached to it) and items left by former guests have been left in place; it is okay. The beds are pretty awful but, in that way, also pretty much in keeping with the overall quality of the room. We brought our own pillows, which was a smart move because the duck they had to skin for their pillows must have been some rare unfeathered kind.
The bathroom, however, takes top prize in the awfulness stakes. I have attached pictures and uploaded them, just in case anyone's wondering what the set of Fawlty Towers looks like nowadays. Feel free to zoom in on the dust; we tried not to. It is a dump and so was everything else. Dirty, dusty and not fit for occupation.
Last but not least, in addition to the blatant lies about its breakfast; there is no free parking available. There are six-or-so spaces available, and these you have to share with the people visiting the pub too. Around it, there's paid parking. Not that you need any of it because after reading this account, you'd probably do better sleeping in your car in a Tesco carpark somewhere.

This traditional pub is a bit lacking in character, and somewhat tucked out the way, but its lovely and clean, service is great, staff friendly and the food is really really good. Eaten here on several occasions and never been disappointed. Good portions, freshly cooked, excellent value for money and the food is tasty and well presented. Salad and vegetables lovely and fresh. As with most places the vegetarian options are limited, but really delicious. I will be recommending this on to friends and family.

This pub had come on leaps and bounds once it changed it name for the third time and more aptly to the Station. Refurb is excellent and has been attracting a very better clientele than it used to under its previous guises... However recently it has been taking a down turn by letting in the Usual rubbish it has tried to stop... It now turning back into a creche again with a particularly family almost taking over the premises every time their there frightening all the new customers that have gained by the hard work meant by the refurb... The bar staff are excellent particularly Yasmine the two Chris,s, and Tony who really holds a brilliant Wednesday quiz night when the place is heaving.... And a fun night.... You say not a word for the Manager!, well he's hardly there or is playing the one arm bandit obliviously to the deterioration of the place with the Creche family and the "wine bar rubbish" all drunks and are letting the place down what a shame for such a promising start Anon

Response from QueensHeadByfleet1, Front Office Manager at The Station
Responded 19 Aug 2016
Regretfully I feel I must respond to this review and the other 3 reviews written by this person to advise that we are a family pub and welcome guests from all walks of life with no prejudice. When customers choose to display disruptive behaviour or are impolite to our staff they will be asked to leave, we have no other choice. We hope all friendly visitors and families see this as a positive step to maintaining a safe, fun, family friendly environment which we hold with high regard at The Station.

as a regular commuter who stops off at the Catherine I enjoy a couple of drinks and the locals are very nice including the bar staff occasionally I have a meal any it's always hot and wholesome good pub grub, however the negative is every time you go into the place there is a woman who blocks the bars with her children and toys all over the flop and running around the pub. also she is breast feeding a baby whilst drinking a pint!! Surely this should be more discreet . Looking for another pub. anon
