Having traveled and living in Asia for the past 10 years it is always a bit shocking to coming back home to your own country. My personal lessons ...just lower or half your expectations and standards otherwise you are shocked about the service and the attitude of people working in some hotels. A really lovely hotel perfect for exploring the town and nearby villages. The warm pools and saunas were a wonderful treat given the cold, January temperatures. Our large room with a balcony had a lovely view of the Kocher River, which had frozen solid and was teaming with skaters and pedestrians alike. What a sight! The breakfast buffet had everything...

Lovely hotel overlooking the river in the picturesque town of Schwabischhall. The hotel is located just outside one of the historic gates to the town. As such, it is within easy walking distance of many shops and restaurants. The hotel has a great dining area and serves good dinner and breakfast. There is an indoor and outdoor pool, as well...

Being a near-native to Schwabisch Hall (deep family ties here and many months of childhood spent here) it was an interesting experience staying in a hotel instead of with family. This review will take into account the fact that this is Germany and not the U.S. where the ideas of customer service and value for the Dollar/Euro is very different....

We arrived 3 hours before check in and couldn't get a room as they weren't cleaned yet, but that was completely on us. They did give out a room that wasn't cleaned but mix ups happen. The "free wifi" advertised is actually only 1 hour of free WiFi so this was a bit deceptive in my opinion. Lunch on the...
