A little disappointed as feel not 4 star. We arrived at hotel and was given room 102 which was right next to Reception. We pointed out that we had booked the green premier room on second floor and was told the room was a premier room. We asked to be moved as clearly it was very noisy at that time 4 pm and that we did not want to be woken early (reception was manned from 6am). We were moved to a third floor end of hotel room with balcony which was an equivalent room ….. NOT which ended up being above staff entrance and kitchens. Heard staff arriving at 6 am 😩. No apologies, told hotel full and no recompense. Hotel flooring in restaurant very tired, creaky and looked dirty and uneven and a definite trip hazard. Breakfast was excellent but evening meal was not worth 4 stars and not worth the €59 each person. The pool was tiny and the spa area was lacking in atmosphere.

Response from Hotel Alemannenhof, Gästeservice/Empfang at Boutique-Hotel Alemannenhof
Responded 12 Oct 2023
Dear Peter and Simone Thank you very much for your feedback. I am so sorry that not everything worked well. We always try to fulfill our guests wishes so we tried to give you the green room as wished. But we always cannot promise. So i am glad your room change worked. I will let our colleagues know that we need to be more quiet in the morning. Also I will pass your feedback about the meals to the restaurant and kitchen. Our restuarant is in traditional black forest style with a lot of wood - like our floor. It may look dirty and I really apologise for that but its just the traditional old floor. We hope we can welcome you back one day and you will get to know our hotel from the best side. Best regards Alemannenhof Team

We decided to call in for a spot of lunch during a walk around Titisee. A glance at the menu told us that with the exception of soup there was nothing on offer in the form a light snack. No matter, it was a beautiful day so we sat down at a table on the terrace and ordered some wine. Two small carafes arrived, and we ordered a repeat round as we were enjoying the sunny weather, the lovely view and the rest from walking. This was a near perfect experience, spoilt only by the bill. We were charged €56 for our wine. Neither the charming waiter nor I batted an eyelid; I didn't want to give him the satisfaction .....

We only went here to get something to eat. Unfortunately the hotel is using a time plan from the 1950's and 60's. That means if you are "outside" of what the hotel considers to be meal times you are out of luck. We got there at about 3:30 in the afternoon after doing some house viewing in the area so we had no option to eat before 6 PM. They will serve you cake and coffee though but only between 2 and 5.

The hotel consists of rooms as well as rooms in houses nearby which are spacious and beautifuly clean and roomy. It makes it a better experience than in an overcluttered hotel. The breakfast excellent and the staff could not be more kind and efficient. Views over the lake are exceptional. We will definatly return.

This was a last minute booking for one night, but what a pleasant surprise. The hotel is just out of town and the superior rooms have a splendid view over the lake. All have evidently been refurbished to a high standard and have a balcony. There is plenty of parking on site. There is also an excellent dining room and the food was first class. The wines are a tad expensive but there is something to suit all pockets. Significantly the staff were the happiest and most helpful that we experienced during our week long tour of the Black Forest. It really is an excellent base and I wish we had stayed more than one night.

Unfortunately only for a night I had the pleasure of staying in Alemannenhof. Very friendly and polite receptionist. Room (321) appeared brand new with a little balcony / nice view. Breakfast is delicious and can be enjoyed on a big terrace. They were so kind to arrange a taxi to the busstop which they also took care of. Definitely a place to have peaceful few days to get out of the day to day hassle...

great hotel on the outskirts of the resort, awesome breakfast and very good restaurant. we stayed at a 2 bedrooms apartment which are not in the main building of the hotel - spacious, with beautiful bathroom and nice and plenty of toiletries. Super clean and beds were very comfortable. We arrived at about 8pm and reception staff struggled a bit with their English - however tried their best to help. A continental breakfast is delivered to apartments every morning - nice surprise to find freshly baked croissants at the door in a wooden box! just to give you enough energy to walk down to the breakfast room in the main building. there is a fair uphill walk from the main building to the apartments, but you can drive and have assigned parking space.

On our way back home from Italy we decided to stay one night in this hotel. The location and the views on the Titisee are great. Our room with a balcony facing the lake was marvelous. So far we made a good choice. But when checking in I already had mixed feelings. The lady had an attitude that made me feel obliged to be thankful that she accepted our request for a room. Like it was a privilege to stay in that hotel that pretended to be much more then it could offer in reality. The room looks nice but the bed was terrible. We made a reservation for diner and got confirmed a table at the terrace. When we showed up at 19.30 hrs the lady in charge denied that we had reserved a table at the terrace. We could only sit inside. Or outside beside the terrace where the cold evening breeze forced us to put on our coats. Also this lady gave us the feeling that we should be grateful that we could have diner there. We had the choice from two menus which were thrown on the table by a guy who had no clue about hospitality as well. In the end I had to pay for one night and the diner over 300 euro. Way too expensive. The diner was pretentious but of very poor quality. Conclusion: Poor hospitality, poor kitchen, way overpriced! But the view from the room was priceless. But I would never recommend this hotel to friends.
