Upon entering our room all we saw was the Bodensee - sort of like an infinity edge. We had a top floor balcony and were just above the See Promenade. We so enjoyed sitting on the balcony with a bottle of wine watching the boats on the lake and people strolling below. Very good wifi connection extended to the balcony. Room a little unique with a "bathroom" module sort of placed in one corner. We had everything we needed in the room and the bathroom size was quite adequate. Loved being able to just walk right out of the hotel and go either direction for long walks along the lake. Very nice breakfast selection as well as regular restaurant with large outdoor sitting area on the lakefront.

Best part of this hotel was the entire staff. The attitude of everyone was so genuinely friendly and helpful - you felt like you were in a friend's home. This made for such a pleasant stay and we really would have stayed longer if we could have.

Upon arrival, you are allowed to drive onto the See Promenade to unload your car - a little unsettling when it's a beautiful sunny weekend with teams of people walking around! Once unpacked you are giving a chip to enter the hotel parking area a few blocks away. Parking is extra, which is not unexpected for many parts of Germany.

I won't forget this hotel and would definitely choose to stay here again if in the Bodensee area.

We have traveled all over the world, and this place is one of the best! Mimi and Jens (owners) are so pleasant, and anticipate all your needs. The rooms are spacious and updated to suit weary travelers. The access to the walking area (promenade) is perfect. Jens and Mimi are fabulous hosts, are well organized, and so friendly. Anything you could want they will provide. This hotel is spotless! The morning breakfast is wonderful with meats, cheeses, vegetables, fruits, breads, coffees, teas, juices, eggs, and more! The word "no" is not in their vocabulary. They will go out of their way to make sure the customer is happy. AAAA++++++. Will definitely stay here again. Travelers are a large U.S. company executive and his wife.

This hotel could not be better situated for spending a few days in Uberlingen. It is lakefront and is in the historical part of the city. Restaurants surround the hotel. The Seegarten has a lovely outside terrace, offers a fantastic buffet every morning, offers quality food and the prices are simply fantastic.

It is a 3 star hotel but with the views, location and hospitality, you can not do better.

Menu shown on website and online does not match the menu at the restaurant. Many dishes still listed on the website are not an option. Just not on the menu! also, the menu is not available in any other languages (English)! Found dishes to be small, and overpriced. No A/C and when windows are closed, its like sauna. Men's toilet hand dryer broken, NO paper towels and the light did not work either. Mostly senior citizens sitting in the restaurant eating, felt out of place. Food was not delicious and feel i wasted my money. Never go back!!!!

I stayed here for 3 nights recently. The location is great - get a room with a view over the lake. It's in the heart of the town - near the lakeside restaurants, cafes and icecream shops, plus convenient for the ferries and bus, and just a short walk from the station and the main shopping area with its Saturday market.
The staff are friendly and helpful, with plenty of ideas and suggestions of what to do in the area.
I slept really well as the hotel is in a quiet location, despite being so close to all the amenities.
Breakfast is good, with a selection of rolls, jams, fruit, cheeses, meats, juices and tea/coffee, with eggs prepared on request.
I had intended to return this month, but business travel plans have changed. However I would definitely stay there again if I was in the area again.

If you have the plan to visit Lake Bodensee and want to stay in a unique location directly on the lake, you must go here. This family owned hotel is located at the main center of the lake walking area and is surrounded by several restaurants, icecream shops and so much more. About 100m away you can rent small boats which you can enjoy with your partner or family and can ride them by yourself. I suggest a boat with an electric motor, so that you can enjoy the silent envirement around you. Also in 100m distance are leaving the ferries to the flower island Mainau and many other locations like Meerburg, Konstanz and many more. The rooms are quite spacy and clean. The breakfast buffet offers everything you want. The owners Jens and Mimi are very friendly and support you with every wish you have. We will definitely come back here !

We have stayed at this wonderful hotel twice. The location is perfect, right on the lake and promenade. You can walk to many restaurants, swimming areas, shops, boat docks, etc. The hotel staff is by far the nicest, most accommodating we've met in our years of living overseas. It is very clean and has a wonderful breakfast and lovely restaurant onsite. They offer traditional hotel rooms and also larger rooms in an attached building that offer fantastic views and privacy. You cannot park on the property (due to their location directly on the promenade), but you can unload in front of the hotel and then park in a garage that is a 5 minute walk away.

You could not be nearer the lake !, we had a lakeside room with balcony on which to watch the boats and the world go by. The couple who run this hotel were extremely professional and friendly ,they also went out of their way to help us when our car had a problem ringing the garage for us and explaining our problem.
The breakfast was good with eggs freshly cooked to order. The evening meal we had was beautifully cooked fish. Although the staff in the restaurant had only a little English we were able to understand the menu.
There is secure parking not far away which was invaluable as this is a quaint and busy town

We were tempted back to this hotel again after our good experience in 2009. Its a part of Germany that many British people just won't consider for a Break/Holiday--What a shame--its their loss.
The Hotel has upgraded many of the bathrooms and we stayed in a newly refurbished double. It was excellent, with views over Lake Constance/ The Bodensee that take your breath away.
The Buffet Breakfast has also been improved with a larger selection of Hot and Cold foods.
The Owner has a very good knowlage of the area and can advise on Day Trips on the Lake and other tourist sights. We visited the Island of Mainau which has probably the best Gardens I have ever seen.
We ate at the Hotel restaurant, where the chef had prepared a whole menu based on the German Seasonal Favorite, White Asparagus--very good food indeed. (alternative dishes also available).
All in all a better standard than our first visit--can't ask for more. Highly Reccommended.

My wife and I spent three days staying at Seegarten. The hotel was recommended by one of my clients, and what a recommendation it was!! We booked one of the lakeview rooms and it was definately the right choice. We had this wonderful panorama over Lake Constance, with wonderful sunrises and magical sunsets--very romantic. The hotel is set on the promenade, right on the edge of the lake, so there are no cars outside at all.

The room was large with a modern integral bathroom with Villeroy & Boch fittings--very nice. The bedroom furniture was of good quality.

We hotel has a large breakfast room which was well staffed and had a lovely selection of breakfast offerings.

The owner, Jens, has spent a considerable amout of time and money to upgrade the hotel facilities and has mostly succeeded in his efforts. Jens has also obtained a good parking area for clients about 200m from the hotel.

There are many good restaurants in the area, we ate at several, but the restautant attached to the hotel was as good as any.

To sum up--this area is beautiful and there is much to see and do--just crossing the lake on one of the many ferries was an experience--so do go and enjoy--as we did.

"The first room we stayed did not have a view of the Bodensee; the windows overlooked an alley which could be somewhat loud as it echoed but we didn't care at all. The second room had a great view but was smaller. Both rooms were very clean and nice; I think I preferred the room without the view as the space helped make it more comfortable."
