We have chosen this hotel not only because it offers friendly prices, 3-bed rooms but also because the pets are welcome. We travel with our cat, and it was not a problem here. It's true that the hotel needs to be renovated, but still everything is clean. The rooms are very clean too. You can not complain if you pay... More

From the welcome to the goodbye, not much to remember. Not very friendly staff, a bit old and worn hotel, lots of noise in the room, hard to get a good nights sleep. On the plus-side: free parking in the back yard, fairly refurnished room, and very central location. The breakfast was well beneath average, very few choices, things missing... More

Avoid at all costs if you have the option. We needed a night in Cuxhaven mid-August before taking the morning ferry to Heligoland/Helgoland. Rooms can be tight on weekends there in Summer for this reason, so book AHEAD. We paid 85 Euro with taxes for Hotel Hohenzollernhof in Cuxhaven – but it was August high season, and that seems the... No driving instructions were provided for this hotel and it was almost impossible to find as Cuxhaven is a much bigger tourist/holiday resort than it is possible to imagine from Wikipedia. There was a good welcome at this old-fashioned hotel which has been "modernised" but the bedroom floor seemed a bit uneven. We didn't try the fish restaurant next door.... More

We stayed at Hohenzollernhof for the good price and proximity to the ferries. Parking is in a gravel lot behind the building and you need to walk around the block to get to the hotel door. The room and breakfast were both satisfactory.

This is not a review of the Hotel Hohenzollern but of its restaurant. During a two day stay in Cuxhaven (18-19 September 2011), I found this gem by chance whilst exploring parts of Cuxhaven's working port facilities. Although I only had a simple lunch there (grilled salmon with potatoes and mixed vegetables), I have no hesitation in recommending this restaurant,... More
