We stayed a week with family and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Guido does a great job and the pizza restaurant is as good as pizza restaurants get! We found it a little odd that the hotel has no traditional bar - the original now a small Japanese style restaurant

Very cozy and clean hotel with warm and friendly staff. Well situated with bus to ski lifts i 3 minutes and bus stop just behind the hotel. Restaurant has the best pizza I have probably had anywhere in the world! Great shops also close by. Can’t wait to visit again.

Although we spent one night only, our stay was simply excellent. The staff is very friendly and they provided great service. There is a pool and a sauna which is perfect for relaxing after a demanding skiing / snowboarding day. The pool is rather small, so it's not suitable for swimming, but great for having a dip. Our dinner in the cozy restaurant located on the ground floor of the hotel was delicious, and the pizza is a must if you like real Italian pizza. Extra plus for the closed underground garage, as finding a parking spot in Flims is usually a challenge.

I was staying with my boyfriend for one night in this lovely hotel. Staff at the reception was super nice, felt like coming home, rooms were cozy including view to a snowy Christmas tree. But best of all, try their PIZZA, it's amazing!

I stayed in this hotel for a week in October. Staff is super friendly, location is great if you like to enjoy the lake Cauma forest and also for excursions into the Rhine valley. Take the superior rooms which are great and newly renovated, I got one with an amazing view to the Mountainside. Try as well the pizzeria, they do great Italian flavored food as well. Would definitely return, value for money is great

Location is good - in winter a short bus ride to the lifts, in sommer a few steps from the beauty that is Lake Cauma. Hotel and service are average, premium rooms are definitly not worth the price. Pool is dated and not appropriate for swimming, sauna area is functional, but won't make you stay. While access to the sauna is free, they ask you to pay for a sauna towel - not acceptable.

Response from Jürg Mettler, Geschäftsführer at Hotel des Alpes
Responded 21 Oct 2020
Thank you very much for haven taken the time to review us here on TripAdvisor. We would have appreciated if you did share your dissatisfaction directly with us to accommodate your needs. Our newly renovated SUPERIOR rooms usually receive a lot of positive comments but if there is something you have missed, I would appreciate you share this with me through mettler@hoteldesalpes.ch that we can review your thoughts for the next batch of rooms being renovated. In regards to the towels, we do offer a set of bathroom linen in every guest room, however if you require additional we do charge a small fee to recognize the enviromental impact of towels being used. If you happen to travel to Flims in the future, we would love to welcome you again with us and convince you about our improvements. Best regards, Juerg Mettler Host

This hotel is ok - average is a good description. Main comments - location. Although it’s away from the lifts it is literally 20 metres from a bus stop. And being Switzerland the buses work exactly to timetable. You can also rent a locker at the ski shop by the lifts making the transition even easier - we rented one for 18CHF for skis and boots for three days so this isn’t crazy money. You can also walk to the lifts in 15 mins which is actually ok if your not in ski boots ... gets the legs warmed up before a day on slopes! - reception staff are very helpful. Also very good English. They checked a group of 12 in to rooms in less than 10 mins ... brilliant! - main bar. Long and thin so not great for big groups but for smaller 1-8 it’s ok. You can smoke in it though so can get pretty foggy quite quickly if someone is partaking. You also often need to go and grab staff from the restaurant if wanting a drink later on. Once they get to know you they will let you serve yourself - marking drinks down while they are away from the area. - rooms are good enough for what is normally a small amount of “in the room” time when skiing but some are tired . Also is a wide variety of them .. some with kitchenettes, some with mezzanine so be sure to understand what booking. Beds are Austrian singles ... so even a double is in effect two singles strapped together. Breakfast - a bit of a let down. If there is a lot of you they aren’t cooking eggs to order so you basically have bread, boiled eggs and small selection of ham and cheese. Is also some granola and yoghurt type stuff as well. Only really good bit is the coffee machine which makes a great cup.
