Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Amazing place to spend your holiday if you’re looking for a comfortable stay. Our room was incredibly cosy: very clean and well-equipped. It also was well-heated which we really appreciated after a long day of skiing. We even had to keep our window open at night as it was getting too warm in the room, so we were enjoying a truly deep sleep whilst breathing fresh alpine air full of oxygen! Nestled in the snow-covered mountains, the hotel is in a great position to the ski slopes, mountain trails and ski lifts. Additionally , it offers a convenient ski room located just opposite the Alpin Express ski lift. There are lovely and friendly people working in the hotel too who advised us on the ski map and places to visit in the village; served us a delicious breakfast and offered us to relax in the hotel’s small, private sauna and steam room. We were also pleasantly surprised one day when we turned up for our breakfast and found out that our table was set with birthday decorations. It was my husband’s birthday but we didn’t tell the staff about this. This small gesture of care and kindness simply made that day exceptional. This is certainly the place where you want to keep coming back.

The hotel is nice BUT our room was on the main floor and our sliding glass door opened on to the patio where a group of people were smoking all evening. We came back from dinner and opened the door to the patio because the room was hot and stuffy. Our room filled up with the horrible smell of cigarettes. We closed the door but were not able to turn on the air conditioning because we were told by a waiter in the bar that it is controlled by the front desk and no one was there for the rest of the evening. We spent a very unpleasant hot night with no ventilation, which was preferable to sleeping in a room filled with cigarette smoke. In this day and age smoking should not be allowed.

Our first visit to Switzerland since Covid. Our previous visit was in 2019, and we returned to the same hotel. The Allalin is clean and comfortable, with friendly and professional staff. A couple of minor issues were quickly dealt with. We were made welcome from arrival to departure. Meals cannot be faulted, if the options were not to your liking, they would do their best to offer an alternative. South facing rooms have balconies overlooking their garden, with a fabulous view of the mountains that form a horseshoe around Saas Fee. Our holiday was booked via Inghams, and we could not fault the local rep, nor the customer service office. Saas Fee is a fabulous destination, lots of walking possibilities, 6 chair lifts / cable cars for those seeking the views without too much effort. Visitors receive a saas card, giving free use of the local buses, cables etc. Sure, Switzerland is not a cheap destination, but the combination of the saas card and a half board package thru Inghams is good value.

My friend, my dog and I stayed here during our hiking trip this summer. Unfortunately only for one night! Our (standard) hotel room was very spacious, very tastefully decorated and had very modern appliances and a great bathroom. And above all, it was very quiet - all you need for a restful sleep after a day of hiking. I will definitely be booking the Allalin again for my next stay in Saas Fee :-)

We stayed here for our honeymoon 30 years ago and so this was a nostalgic return. It certainly didn’t disappoint in fact it was even better this time. It’s a beautiful hotel and the staff are attentive and welcoming. Our room was large and airy with a balcony to relish the view and great amenities. Both dinner and breakfast were excellent with a good choice and well prepared and cooked. We’re not going to wait another 30 years before coming back again.

It's 3 or 4 years since we last stayed at the Allalin and we were looking forward to returning for a 3 night stay. Was it as good as before ? YES ! The same friendly family run business with great attention to detail and superb food. We cannot recommend this hotel highly enough and look forward to our next visit.

The Allalin is a perfect hotel for those wish for very high quality accommodation, food and service. Everything works, quality is high and a good marker, staff retention is high. The hotel has been owned by the same family for almost 100 years and later generations of the family manage it and do it very well. They are all so helpful and any issues raised are owned and dealt with immediately, whether it is tourist information or booking something in the village. It is the perfect model for a very high quality hotel - not over the top, but just superb quality in all their services.

Everything we could have wished for and more.... We had a perfect stay in a family suite with the hotel's ski-package and evening meals. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable with a great view of the mountains. The meals were amazing ! The staff were warm and friendly. The hotel ski-storage room across from the Alpine Express lift is very useful, especially if you hire your ski-gear from the shop next to it. The sauna was a great experience too, we wish we'd tried it earlier in our stay. We had a magical stay and wholeheartedly recommend Hotel Allalin

The hotel is at good central plaice in the small village. For winter sports (ski) it is very conveniently placed. The personnel is very friendly and flexible. They care for the guests. Breakfast was good.
