Loved this place! Pool, facilities, restaurant, soft play, bike hire, play barn, play park etc etc all brilliant…I wish I’d read more reviews to plan my visit better so I hope it helps readers. I travelled with my boys aged 4 and 6 and this place is brilliant for them. However, lack of pavements worried me but cars drove very slowly so it was fine. Pool activities for this age group booked up before I could book anything (a week in advance at least) and with two kids, I had to use two different email addresses to get two kids on the reserve list. Kitchen was well stocked, apart from; kitchen roll, kitchen spray to clean kitchen (fluid provided but no spray bottle), no cloths, blunt knives (although Reception said they would sharpen as required), washing machine but no powder/fluid, no soap at kitchen sink… most activities are at extra cost but absolutely reasonable so all in all, much preferable to Centre Parcs (UK) for example, but just a couple of extra things to pop in your car before coming would make your life here perfect - staff lovely - brilliant stay, thank you!!

Thank you 335KathrynS for your review! We are so pleased that you enjoyed your stay with us... To help with planning, our activities are made available around 6 weeks prior to arrival and where possible we add extras as they get booked up. Our onsite shop, Woodland Store, sells most things that you might forget to pack and often in individuals so you don't have to buy large boxes/ bottles. I really hope this information helps!

Wonderful relaxing holiday park in beautiful surroundings. We had a lovely week. Lodge was brand new and very clean on arrival. Staff and food on site was excellent. Enjoyed the spa that was very reasonably priced (£10 for 4 sessions) and also enjoyed a couple of fitness sessions. Our son loved the swimming pool, table tennis and mini golf. Lovely woodland walks on your doorstep. Will definitely return.

My wife booked here for my birthday and I’m so glad she did. Enjoyed the whole three nights from start to finish. Wish we’d booked longer. Will certainly be going again. The staff were excellent and very helpful, even got our keys for cabin earlier than expected.

Absolutely brilliant time everything was spot on as usual, it’s our happy place. Can’t wait for our next visit we always have a fab time. Whether you like the peace and quiet or something a bit livelier you’ll always find plenty to do round and about, Matlock and Bakewell are only a few miles away. The reception at Darwin Forest also have discounted tickets for nearby venues, definitely something to suit everyone.

Just got back from an amazing weekend for our Wedding Anniversary at Darwin. Firstly, to say we only live about 25 miles away until a couple of months ago I did not know this place existed… one thing I now know for sure is that we will be back!! We booked a one bed, dog friendly lodge with a sauna and hot tub. Check in was super-easy… they even emailed us well ahead of our 4pm allocated check-in to say our lodge was ready and we could check-in anytime. That was brilliant. The lodge itself was exceptionally clean - literally spotless (and I can be very fussy!!). Had everything we needed for a self-catering long weekend. And good WiFi in lodge, which is great as one point to note (great for us, but maybe not for everyone!) is that the phone signal is quite poor / non existent. Also stream-cast to TV meaning if you’ve got your tablet or phone you can use Netflix, You-Tube etc directly to the TV. The location is superb. Easy to get to from the major roads, but tucked away far enough back from the road it was incredibly peaceful. And although there are over 100 lodges on site, in different sizes and with different types of parties (couples, families, groups) at night time it was silent!! Loads of attractions nearby - Bakewell, Matlock, Crich, Crich Tramway, great Forest walks direct from site, and if you don’t want to get in the car great bar & restaurant, pool, spa and what appeared to be tons of stuff for kids (obviously we didn’t do any of that, but the crazy golf was busy on Saturday afternoon). Well stocked shop too. The price-point for what you get is also spot-on compared to some of the bigger or chain-branded lodge resorts. I have not one negative thing to say about this place. Highly recommend.

We actually stopped here in 2022 but having stayed at another Landal somewhere else I felt impelled to write a review regarding this one. Fantastic location, lots to do in the area and the lodges are clean, spacious and well organised. The facilities on site are brilliant, the outdoor play area near to the restaurant was so handy and the indoor softplay area for all ages was a great addition. The swimming pool was also fantastic, all in all we would definitely stop here again.

Just returned home today - stayed 3 generations including toddler to grandparents and a dog in a Coppice Spa pet friendly lodge C7 - it was our second (for some third) time here. The restaurant is excellent the food is great and the staff are lovely and very friendly. There is a good play centre on site for a small cost for young children - as well as a small free soft play area for under 5s and some other games/arcade type and pool tables etc for older children. Used the swimming pool once - free to enter for guests and was a nice temperature. Lovely facilities although not tons on site if you want a centre parcs go to a centre parcs - we love what this has to offer and it is a great base for exploring the local area - the guys went walking in the Peak District and we went out to Bakewell and Matlock Bath and Peak Village shopping with lunch at The Grouse and Claret (highly recommend for a change) - all around a 15 minute drive away and easy to get to. The lodge was lovely worth the extra cost for the Coppice Spa we loved the hot tub and the lodge was very nice and comfortable. Thanks Darwin Forest we will be back again I think it has become an annual trip for our family!

We came back for our 4th visit. Three generations in Spinney Exclusive Lodge. Luxury accommodation, very clean, good facilities and covered hot tub so can go in any weather. Nice decking and outdoor space. All set in woodland. Safe space for little ones. Pool was good, not too crowded in mid-feb. Lovely walks and trim trail with other things to see/do during walk in the site. Good things to do nearby. Useful shop. Exceptionally friendly and helpful staff. We will be back.
